OMG just can't believe what I'm reading!! A Gustav Klimt portrait sold for like 236 MILLION DOLLARS?!?! The buyer's identity is still a mystery tho, gotta love the secrecy around it . And can you even imagine how much it went through in 20 minutes? Fierce bidding battle indeed! So cool that Lederer was an heiress and had such a connection with Klimt... makes the painting so special . Also, what's up with all these record-breaking sales lately? It's like art is just getting more & more expensive . That gold toilet sculpture though, 12 million dollars for it? Worth every penny imo
I'm still trying to wrap my head around that Klimt portrait sale 236 million dollars is insane! I mean, can you even imagine owning something so valuable? I wonder who this anonymous buyer is... maybe they're some super wealthy collector or a museum looking to make a statement.
I've been reading about the history of that painting and it's crazy how it was looted by the Nazis during WWII . I mean, we've made progress since then but it's still sad to think about all those art pieces being taken away from people who loved them.
I'm also loving the fact that there's a new gold toilet sculpture up for sale 12 million bucks isn't cheap, though! It's like, what are we even buying these things for? Art is supposed to be appreciated, not just bought and sold... but I guess that's just the way the game is played now
