I mean, 38 outta 100 cities are facing "extremely high water stress" lol what a numbers game! Anyway, I think its super alarming that climate change is making water scarcity worse & poor management is just makin it worse. Its like, we need to be more careful with our resources, ya know? Those cities in dry zones are gonna be in trouble if we dont do somethin about it ASAP. The UN is warnin us bout "water bankruptcy" and the World Bank is tellin us that freshwater reserves are plummetin every year... like, 324 billion cubic metres gone down the drain ! We gotta take action, 'cause by 2055 England's water demand is gonna be through the roof & they need an extra 5 billion litres a day lol what a numbers game too . We gotta be more sustainable & monitor our water usage better, or we'll be in big trouble
I'm SUPER concerned about the state of our planet's water resources!!! 38 out of 100 biggest cities are facing EXTREMELY HIGH WATER STRESS, which is just plain CRAZY!!! I mean, what's going on with our management skills that we can't even keep up with our own water needs?! Climate change is a big part of the problem, but it seems like poor management is only making things worse.
I'm also worried about places like Chennai and Tehran, which are experiencing strong DRYING TRENDs. Like, how many people are going to be affected by this?! It's not just the numbers that are worrying, it's the fact that we're basically running out of water here!!! The World Bank is saying that freshwater reserves have PLUMMETED over the past 20 years... that's like losing a huge chunk of our daily needs every year!
We need to get our act together and start looking after our planet's resources, stat!
man this is wild to think about 38 cities worldwide facing extreme water stress it's not just the lack of water that's the problem it's also how we've been managing our resources for so long...think about all those years of over-extraction and pollution what have we done? climate change is obviously a huge factor but I guess you could say we're basically playing catch up now...and the numbers are staggering 280 million people living without access to enough water that's just heartbreaking
This is crazy I mean, 38 out of 100 largest cities are struggling with super high water stress? That's just insane. I'm no expert but it seems to me that we're really messing up our planet. I think we need to take action ASAP - not just with policies and new roles like the one mentioned in that water white paper, but also with individuals making a conscious effort to conserve water at home . It's not rocket science, but it's about being responsible and thinking about the future of our planet before it's too late .
I'm seeing this news and my first thought is how are we gonna survive without clean water? It's crazy that 38 cities are already feeling the strain and it's getting worse by the day. Climate change has been warning us for ages, but still... poor management of resources just makes things worse . I feel like there should be some solutions being implemented ASAP to prevent this 'water bankruptcy' from happening . It's not all doom and gloom though - cities in regions with strong wetting trends are doing better . But we need to wake up and take action before it's too late . Can someone please come up with a plan to ensure everyone has access to clean water?
