I'm not sure if this ceasefire is just another temporary reprieve... I mean, think about it, how many times have we seen these kinds of deals only to see things escalate again?
The fact that 1,900 Palestinians are being released without any guarantees on their return or rehabilitation is a bit worrying. And what's the real reason behind this ceasefire, anyway? Is it just a PR stunt to ease global conscience? I'm not convinced that Israel's motives are purely altruistic... and Gazan civilians still have to live with the aftereffects of these conflicts, like damaged homes and scarce resources
. Can we really expect things to get better for them in the long run?
