Remains of Eighth Deceased Hostage Found in Gaza Strip

In a significant development, Israel has confirmed the identification of the remains of another deceased hostage. Eliyahu Margalit, 76, was abducted from his workplace at Kibbutz Nir Oz and handed over to Israel by Hamas' armed wing, the al-Qassam Brigades.

This latest addition brings the total number of identified hostages returned to Israel to eight. The Israeli government had set a deadline for Hamas to hand over all remaining hostages, but it appears that progress has been slow in recovering the bodies of those still believed to be in Gaza.

Hamas had previously stated that it would not be able to recover all 28 hostage remains due to the extensive destruction caused by the conflict. The IDF has confirmed that Israeli intelligence is being shared with Hamas to assist in finding remaining hostages, and that Turkey has offered to help search for and retrieve bodies through sending expert teams.

The United States has also expressed its commitment to assisting in the recovery efforts, with US Ambassador to the UN Mike Waltz stating that American personnel will be part of the effort. The senior US adviser on the peace deal noted that it would have been almost impossible for Hamas to mobilize and get the bodies home due to the level of destruction.

As the situation remains fluid, Israeli authorities continue to work towards recovering all hostages' remains. Meanwhile, nine Palestinians were killed in Gaza when Israeli forces fired on a bus in Zeitun neighborhood, and 15 Palestinian bodies had been returned to Gaza.

this whole thing is just so heartbreaking... I mean, it's like what can you even do? We're still human beings at the end of the day. These people were taken from their loved ones without a second thought. It's not just about the number on our news screens anymore; it's about empathy & compassion. We have to try and understand where these people are coming from, not just with guns & tanks but with open minds too. What if we could find common ground? I'm not buying that Hamas is doing this out of humanitarian reasons . I mean, let's be real, they're just trying to negotiate leverage with Israel. The fact that the US is sending in experts to help recover the bodies is just a PR stunt. It's all about politics and power plays. And don't even get me started on the Israeli government's deadline - sounds like they're just creating more drama than necessary .

Its sad but good that its happening, finally getting answers after all these years . I mean, 28 people are still out there...can you imagine how hard it is for their families? The fact that Hamas said they wouldn't be able to recover all the bodies due to destruction, yeah thats true...the whole thing has been a mess . Its good that Turkey and US are offering help tho , hopefully those teams can find any remaining hostages. Its not right what happened to Eliyahu Margalit, he was 76 years old for gods sake! my heart goes out to the families of those still missing - it's just so frustrating that they're still stuck in limbo like this . I know we can't turn a blind eye to what's happening but at the same time, i feel for the ppl on both sides who are suffering . Israel and Hamas need to work together here, and fast . Ugh, this is just so sad I mean, I get that Israel's trying to recover the remaining hostages, but it feels like they're making slow progress and Hamas isn't exactly helping out either . 28 people are still missing and their families have been waiting for answers for who knows how long...it's just so frustrating .

And then you see stuff like this happening in Gaza, with nine Palestinians getting killed ...it's all just really tragic and I don't know what to say about it .

so this is a big deal right? Israel finds another human being who was taken by Hamas... it's crazy how slow the process has been. I guess it makes sense that it would be hard with all the destruction in Gaza, but still it's sad for the families of these people. 8 hostages are already back home so hopefully this means things are looking up? The fact that Turkey and the US are helping out is really cool, maybe we'll see progress soon?

Aww poor guy . My heart is breaking just thinking about what Eliyahu Margalit went thru . I hope the authorities can recover all his remains ASAP . 8 is still a number that's too high for me, but at least this one is identified and on his way home . The international support is amazing to see - US, Turkey, and even Israel sharing intel . It's like they're all in this together . Fingers crossed everything goes smoothly and soon we'll have some closure .

I'm telling you something's fishy here... like they're making it too easy for the Israelis to get those hostages back, know what I mean? I don't trust all this cooperation between Israel and Hamas. It sounds like there's some sort of setup going on. The US is always good at getting what they want, you know? And now that Mike Waltz is on the scene, it's just a matter of time before they start making some demands or something.

so its crazy to think about israel and hamas negotiating like this, sharing intel to find the remaining hostags but at the same time, 9 more palesstinians died in gaza just because of a bus attack and its like... what can we even do? the conflict is so messed up it feels like were just going in circles and i wish they could all just talk to each other instead of fighting and dying

omg u gotta feel for eliyahu margalit's fam his life was literally cut short by the conflict and now his remains are back with him idk what's more sad tho - that he got taken away from his workplace or that it took this long to find him anyway, gotta give it up to israel for sharing intel with hamas maybe it can help them find those last 20 hostages and btw, kudos to turkey & us sending teams to aid in the search fingers crossed they get those bodies back soon

I'm so surprised Hamas is actually trying really hard to recover the hostages I mean, who needs diplomatic relations or international pressure when you've got intel sharing with Israel? It's all about getting those human remains back home ASAP The fact that Turkey and the US are lending a hand just shows how well-intentioned everyone is being. this is such a sad reminder of the ongoing conflict it's just heartbreaking to think about those poor hostages who lost their lives under such circumstances i wonder what would have happened if they were still with us today and I'm also thinking about all the Palestinian families who are suffering Israel & Hamas need to work together, or at least find a way to communicate without resorting to violence my heart goes out to both sides... can't we just imagine a world where there's peace instead of war?
