Keanu Reeves, the iconic Hollywood star behind John Wick and The Matrix franchises, has recently opened up about his early days in the industry. It turns out that even back then, he was trying to reinvent himself by changing his name.

Reeves shared a candid story on an interview podcast, where he recounted how his manager suggested changing his stage name from Keanu Reeves at just 20 years old. This marked what Reeves referred to as the beginning of his "welcome to Hollywood" moment – essentially his initiation into the high-stakes world of showbiz.

The actor revealed that after initially considering names like Chuck Spadina (a combination of his middle name, Charles, and the Toronto street he grew up on), he was eventually offered yet another option: Templeton. Ultimately, Reeves settled on the now-familiar KC Reeves, before eventually discarding it altogether.

Reeves's story highlights just how early – and intense – Hollywood can be for aspiring stars. Even at a young age, he found himself navigating complex decisions about his public image and career trajectory. Thankfully, the outcome has been far more successful than any of these experimental names might have suggested!

🤔 I feel bad for Keanu Reeves back then, trying to reinvent himself like that. I mean, who tries to change their name at 20? 😂 Either way, it's cool how he experimented with different monikers before landing on the one we know and love. And wow, 20 is super young to be dealing with all that pressure! 🤯 Templeton is actually a pretty cool name tho 😊

🎬 Can you even imagine being 20 years old and already getting advice from your manager on what to name yourself? I mean, it's crazy how much pressure there is in this industry. But at the same time, I think it's cool that Keanu was so open about trying out different names – it shows he wasn't afraid to experiment and find his own unique identity. And honestly, KC Reeves does sound pretty iconic now 🤷‍♂️. It's also awesome that he has such a positive outlook on all the decisions he made back then. I mean, who needs the perfect name when you've got The Matrix and John Wick under your belt? 💥

I'm loving this behind-the-scenes look at Keanu's journey to stardom 🤓! Changing your name in Hollywood? That's just so... typical for a new face trying to make it big 💥. I can imagine how overwhelming and pressure-filled that must've been, but it sounds like he took the right approach by experimenting with different names until he landed on something that felt true to himself 🎬. It's crazy to think about how his early "rebranding" could've led to some totally different career path... but I guess KC Reeves just stuck! 💯

I mean, come on, Keanu Reeves' name story is so extra 🤣. I feel like we're stuck in some kind of Hollywood reboot loop. "Hey, let's give this kid a new name!" Manager says. "How about Chuck Spadina?" Nope. How about Templeton? Nope again. I mean, KC Reeves was already a thing and it got discarded just like that 🤷‍♂️. Can we get some consistency here? The more I think about it, the more I'm over here thinking Keanu's just been experimenting with different identities throughout his career 💁‍♂️. Anyway, glad to see he landed on something that sticks (for now, at least).

OMG 🤯 I'm not surprised Reeves went through this – Hollywood is CRAZY 💥 especially when you're starting out. Changing your name at 20? That's wild 🤪 I mean, I get it, you want to reinvent yourself and stand out, but wow! It's like, have some identity crisis before 20 😂 seriously though, can you imagine having to introduce yourself with a new name every five minutes? "I'm Keanu... uh wait, no I'm KC... errrr Templeton?" 🤦‍♂️ it's good that he stuck with what he had in the end tho 💯

OMG 🤯, I feel like Keanu Reeves had to deal with so much pressure from such a young age already... like, changing your name is already hard enough, but adding all that stress and uncertainty? 🤔 And it's crazy how he was trying out different names too, KC Reeves doesn't sound like him at all 😂. I think it's cool that he's still being so open about his early days in the industry though, it's always inspiring to see people learn from their mistakes. 💡

I'm loving this behind-the-scenes look at Keanu Reeves' early days in Hollywood 🤯. It's crazy to think he was trying out different names just to reinvent himself - I mean, who wouldn't want to shake off the whole "Keanu Reeves" thing and try something new? 😂 But seriously, it's amazing how quickly he adapted to the industry and ended up becoming one of the most iconic actors of our time. And can you imagine having a middle name like Charles that you want to turn into Chuck Spadina? 🤣 Either way, KC Reeves is way more memorable! 💁‍♂️

can u believe this dude was tryna change his name like 3 times already? lol @ templeton though, that's some weird name fam 😂 KC Reeves is def more iconic tho, i can see why he stuck with it 🙌. its crazy how much pressure they gotta deal with when they're just startin out in the industry, like they gotta have it all figured out from day one 🤯. kudos to keanu for makin it through and still killin it 20+ yrs later 💥

I'm low-key surprised Reeves was trying to change his name that early 🤷‍♂️. Like, who needs a fresh start at 20? He could've just stuck with Keanu and called it a day 😎. Templeton doesn't sound half bad either 🤔. I mean, KC Reeves is cool and all, but it's not like he needed to experiment that much. Maybe he was just trying to avoid typecasting or something... idk 👀
