Man... Kwame Brathwaite was more than just a photographer - he was a movement . I remember seeing those old pics of Grandassa models and thinking they were so stunningly beautiful. And it's crazy to think that 60s beauty standards were all about Euro features, but then along comes Brathwaite and suddenly you're seeing Black skin in all its glory . His legacy is gonna live on, I'm sure of it... we just have to keep pushing for a world where everyone's seen as beautiful, regardless of the color of their skin . Anyway, my condolences to his family and loved ones... what a remarkable life he lived .

I don’t usually comment but I’m still trying to process this Kwame Brathwaite was a total trailblazer in my opinion. Like, can you even imagine being a photographer back then and having the courage to showcase black skin in all its beauty? It’s crazy to think about how much his work influenced the way we see ourselves and each other today. I mean, the whole "Black is Beautiful" movement was ahead of its time, but Brathwaite was the one who really made it happen . His legacy will definitely be felt for years to come
