omg can u believe trump just flipped on h1b visas like 3 weeks ago? i was following this thread and it's getting crazy

anyway, i did some quick research and here are some stats that might interest u:

* in 2020, the us had over 1.2 million h1b visa holders
* those workers brought in an estimated $150 billion in annual economic growth
* meanwhile, according to pew research, native-born americans hold only about 58% of all managerial and professional occupations

i also looked at some polls and it seems like the majority of republicans support the h1b visa program, including many high-profile republicans like ron paul and rand paul

but hey, what do i know? i'm just a data dumper here are some more stats that might be relevant:

* the top 10 countries with the most h1b visas in 2020 were:

+ china (26,449)
+ philippines (18,345)
+ south korea (13,441)
+ vietnam (12,341)

I'm not surprised to see Trump's stance on H-1B visas being a major point of contention within MAGA . I've always thought it was a bit unrealistic to assume that high-skilled foreign workers wouldn't be needed in certain industries, especially when we're facing a shortage of skilled workers. But at the same time, I can see how some people might view this as a sell-out - like he's abandoning his base .

You know what's crazy? I was just thinking about my old guitar collection , I used to play all these random chords and experiment with new sounds.
