Maga is painting Saturday’s protests as violent treason. Prove them wrong | Judith Levine

🤔 I'm so tired of politicians like Mike Johnson trying to label peaceful protests as 'violent treason'. It's just not fair! 🚫 The fact that he's trying to silence dissent by scaring people into staying home is a big red flag 🔥. And honestly, it's pretty scary to think about the potential consequences if we don't push back against his narrative. I mean, who are these 'pro-Hamas wing and anti-FA groups' that he's talking about? 🤷‍♀️ It seems like a convenient excuse to justify increased policing crackdowns and potentially even invoking the Insurrection Act. 🚔 The real question is: what do we want from our politicians - honesty and truth or fear-mongering and propaganda? 🤝

I'm so done with the weather we've been having lately 🌨️. It's like the sun is one day hot, the next it's freezing! I swear, my plants are going to be all confused this season 🌱. Anyway, back to the protests... I don't get why people can't just agree to disagree? We're already so divided as it is 😩. I remember when I was at the beach last summer and saw these seagulls trying to steal food from each other 🐦😂. It's like they knew we were humans too, constantly fighting for stuff that's never going to be enough... anyway, yeah...

🤦‍♂️ I'm so done with Mike Johnson's narrative about these peaceful protests being violent treason! He's just trying to silence dissenting voices by scaring people into staying home. Like, no thanks! These protesters are literally putting their lives on the line to exercise their democratic rights in the face of an authoritarian regime. 🙄 It's not about hating America, it's about standing up for what's right and fighting against a system that's trying to crush them.

And yeah, let's be real, there have been instances of violence from both sides, but that doesn't mean these peaceful protests are the problem! It's like, can't we just try to find a way to coexist peacefully? 🤝 The fact is, nonviolent resistance is actually a really powerful strategy for creating lasting change. It builds trust, forges solidarity, and shows discipline in the face of threats or attacks.

I'm so hyped that millions of people are going to show up on October 18th and stand up for what they believe in - nonviolence, justice, and equality! It's gonna be a beautiful thing to see! 💖

🤔 I'm calling BS on Mike Johnson's narrative about these protests. He's trying to paint a picture that peaceful protesters are violent and treasonous? No way! The facts say otherwise. We've got footage of people peacefully marching and being pepper-sprayed for standing still 🚽. That's not resistance, that's police brutality.

And what's with the "pro-Hamas wing" label? Are we supposed to believe that all pro-choice protesters are also anti-Israel? 🤷‍♀️ Come on, Johnson! You're trying to silence dissent by painting it as hate speech. But we won't play along. We'll keep showing up, peacefully, and demanding justice. 💪
