Man Survives Tornado Ride in Van. See Footage.

A harrowing video has emerged of a man riding out an EF-3 tornado inside his pest control van, as he was narrowly spared from the worst of the storm's fury. Cody Coombes, the driver of the vehicle, recounts his terrifying experience in an interview with CNN.

The National Weather Service reported that the tornado tore through Pulaski and Lonoke counties in Arkansas, reaching estimated peak winds of 165 mph. The twister left a trail of destruction in its wake, claiming the lives of one person in North Little Rock and four people in Wynne.

Coombes, who was driving his van when the storm hit, describes how he found shelter inside the vehicle just as the tornado touched down. "I pulled over to the side of the road and I went inside the van," Coombes tells CNN. "It was like a little bunker or something."

The driver says that during the tornado, debris was flying everywhere outside his window, but he was able to shelter from the worst of it inside the vehicle. "It was like being in a tunnel, you know?" Coombes explains. "You couldn't see anything out the window, and the noise... it was just deafening."

When asked if he thought about calling for help during the storm, Coombes replied, "I didn't think about that at all. I was just trying to survive, you know? Get through this thing as quickly as possible."

Coombes' bravery in riding out the tornado has sparked an outpouring of support on social media, with many praising his quick thinking and calm demeanor during a chaotic situation.

The video of Coombes' terrifying experience has been viewed millions of times online and serves as a stark reminder of the dangers posed by severe weather events.

I think this guy is super lucky he didn't get hurt more than just his van πŸ™„. I mean, who drives with all that stuff in the back? It's like begging for trouble! And what about those four people who died in Wynne? That's not something to be celebrated or shared on social media. It's just a reminder of how fragile life is. And what's with the "bravery" thing? He was just trying to survive, yeah, but he could've easily been killed too. Let's focus on finding ways to prevent these disasters from happening in the first place rather than just sharing videos of people being lucky πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ.

OMG u can't even imagine ridin out a tornado in ur van lol!!! πŸš€ that's insane!! 😲 i mean, i know it sounds crazy but like coombes was literally in 2nd gear just chillin inside his van while the tornado was tearin thru the world outside him πŸŒͺ️ what a lifesaver that van must've been!! πŸ˜‚ idk how u can't be impressed by someone savin their life like dat πŸ’―

man... can you believe that dude was literally inside his van when the tornado hit 🀯😱. like, what are the chances?! i'm not gonna lie, my heart is still racing just thinking about it πŸŒͺ️. and coombes' calm demeanor during the whole ordeal? insane πŸ’₯. I mean, we're all about supporting first responders and emergency services, but this takes it to a whole new level... what's next, riding out hurricanes in your van?! πŸšπŸ˜‚. seriously though, it's just another reminder of how unpredictable nature can be & how important it is to stay informed about weather conditions πŸ‘

🀯 OMG, that's crazy! I mean, I've seen some wild videos in my time, but this one takes the cake. Like, who survives an EF-3 tornado by riding out inside a van? πŸšπŸ’¨ That's just insane! And the fact that he was able to shelter from all the debris and wind is just... wow. I'm seriously impressed by his bravery.

But at the same time, it's also super scary thinking about being in that situation. I mean, you're basically trapped in this tiny space with no way out, and there are flying pieces of wood and metal everywhere outside. That must have been so terrifying for him! 😱

Anyway, I'm glad he made it through okay, and kudos to his quick thinking for staying safe. It's also a good reminder to always be prepared for severe weather events, whether you're driving or just hanging out at home. Stay safe out there, guys! πŸŒͺ️

I'm still in shock watching that footage! The dude's van is literally a tornado shelter lol 🀯, I mean how did he even think to pull over and take cover like that? It's crazy to think that's what could've been if he didn't have his van as a safe haven. I'm not sure if I would've had the guts to stay inside while the storm is raging outside me 😨. The fact that it was just a normal day for him, driving around and dealing with bugs in his van, and then BAM! Tornado hits... it's just too wild πŸŒͺ️. I do hope he's doing okay though, after going through all that trauma πŸ’•.

I'm still shook just watching that footage... I mean, who expects to survive a tornado ride in their van? 😲 Cody's got some serious guts for pulling over like that and riding out the storm. I can imagine how scary it must've been, feeling trapped with debris flying everywhere outside and the roar of the twister going on inside. 🀯 And what's even crazier is that he didn't even think to call for help – just focused on surviving. Props to him for being so level-headed in a crazy situation! πŸ’ͺ

OMG YOU GUYS I JUST SAW THE MOST CRAZY VIDEO OF SOMEONE SURVIVING A TORNADO IN THEIR VAN!!! 🀯 i mean i know it sounds wild but like seriously how did he even think to seek shelter in a van?! it's not like they're built for tornadoes or anything lol. and the fact that he was calm enough to ask if anyone thought of calling for help during the storm is just WOW. the video is wild too, all debris flying everywhere outside his window but he's just chillin inside 🚐πŸ’₯ anyway i'm just so glad he made it out alive and it's definitely a good reminder to always be prepared for severe weather events πŸ’•

omg you guys i'm telling u this guy's experience is like straight outta a sci fi movie 🀯 but what if it wasnt just luck or quick thinking that saved his life? what if someone from above wanted him to survive and make it out alive? i mean think about it, he happens to be driving his pest control van which is basically a mobile bunker 🐜🚐. could this be more than just a coincidence? the government's always talking about "predictive maintenance" for emergency vehicles... what if its not just about the vans but also about people being in the right place at the right time? too deep, right? 😏

man what a miracle he made it out alive lol i mean thats just crazy that he had to resort to driving his pest control van as shelter like what if the wind would've blew him away from it ? πŸ˜‚ and its kinda sad that people are praising him for not panicking or calling for help during that intense situation, it's like maybe he shoulda done either of those things to avoid putting himself in such a precarious position πŸ€”

omg that's crazy 😱 I mean can you even believe this dude just rode out a tornado in his van like it was nothing? πŸ’₯ I'm so relieved he made it out alive! 165mph winds are insane, I don't know how he kept his cool πŸ™. I feel bad for the people who lost their lives in the storm though πŸ˜”. It's crazy to think about how close that guy came to losing his life and all he thought about was surviving and getting through it as quick as possible πŸ’¨. social media is crazy with all the praise for him, but honestly I think what scares me more is the destruction the tornado caused πŸŒͺ️. anyway, glad that dude made it out alive πŸ™

omg you guys this is insane 🀯 watch the vid he's literally riding out a tornado in his van lol how does one even prepare for that? πŸ˜‚ and poor guy had to deal with 165mph winds & debris flying everywhere πŸŒͺ️ i mean seriously who needs a bunker when u got a pest control van, right? πŸ˜‚
