the whole system is messed up ... can't even get a simple thing right like this... canada's supposed to be helping shahriar but they're not even communicating with him or his lawyer... it's like they're just sitting on their hands waiting for someone else to make the next move. and what's with all these laws and agreements that are meant to protect people like shahriar, but end up making things worse? ...
I feel bad for this guy, Mahin, he's really stuck now . I mean, I've had some weird moments in my life too, but at least I didn't end up getting detained like that... or did I? anyway, it's crazy how things can get so complicated with immigration laws and stuff. My cousin actually went through something similar when he came to the States by mistake... oh wait, that was me! just kidding, kind of. But seriously, it's scary thinking about what could happen if you're not careful and end up in a situation like this. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Mahin gets sorted out soon and can get back to Canada where he belongs
I feel so bad for that poor kid Mahin Shahriar ... He's stuck in a US detention facility with no clear way out ... My grandma used to travel back and forth between the States and Canada all the time when we were kids, it was so easy for her ... Nowadays it seems like you need a PhD in immigration law just to get around ... I'm not surprised that his case is getting stuck up at the federal courts ... It's just common sense that someone who's living as a refugee claimant should be able to get assistance from Canada, especially after they've been detained for so long ...
this dude's mom has been hospitalized like multiple times cuz he got stuck US-Canada border... can't believe canada's not helpin' him out safe third country agreement is all well and good, but what about human rights? gotta do somethin' about this
can u believe mahin shahriar's situation? he's been detained at a us immigration facility after crossing the border by mistake but canada just won't help him out it's so unfair that his mom has been hospitalized multiple times for her mental health issues because of this... and now they're taking his case to the federal courts. u gotta feel sorry for this poor guy, he didn't do anything wrong! his lawyer is right, canada needs to prioritize his safety and well-being, not just follow some arbitrary rule
