Man Utd manager talk ‘waste of time’ says favourite Glasner

Man Utd's Ruben Amorim Sacked, Crystal Palace Boss Glasner Said Job 'Waste of Time'

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has dismissed Manchester United's managerial vacancy as "wasted time" when asked about his chances of taking over the Old Trafford hotseat. The Austrian boss, who is among the bookies' favorites to replace Amorim, had cryptic comments in a pre-game press conference at Selhurst Park on Tuesday.

When questioned by reporters if he would be interested in the United job, Glasner quipped, "I'm not allowed to bet" and added that his contract prohibits him from discussing other clubs. He also emphasized that the length of managers' contracts has little meaning in terms of predicting their future success.

Glasner's comments suggest that he is not willing to engage with speculation about a potential move to United, despite being out of contract at Palace this summer. The Crystal Palace boss had previously stated that talks over a new deal were on hold, adding fuel to the speculation surrounding his future.

The Manchester United board has been in search of a new manager after Amorim's 14-month tenure ended with his sacking on Monday. The club is expected to make an announcement soon, but Glasner's comments have left many questioning whether he was serious about taking on the challenge.

omg u think glassner would just fall into man utd job after being sacked by palace? 🤔 i think its all just speculation at this point. his comments did sound a bit cryptic, but idk if thats just him playing it cool 😎 or if hes actually serious about the role. either way, he's definitely not ruling it out entirely... but maybe hes trying to keep options open 🤑

OMG 🤯, I'm low-key surprised by Glasner's response 🤷‍♂️. I mean, who wouldn't want to manage Manchester United, right? 😎 It seems like he's trying to keep his options open while also keeping them closed at the same time 😜. I think it's a bit of a clever move to deflect the speculation and keep himself in the running without committing to anything. On the other hand, if he's not interested, why bring up the United job in the first place? 🤔 It's like, if you're out of contract at Palace this summer, what's holding you back from making a move? 💸 I'm still on team Glasner, but his comments have definitely added some mystery to the situation 🔮.

OMG, I'm so down for Oliver Glasner to take over Man Utd 🙌💪! He seems like a straight shooter and I love how confident he is about his own abilities 💁‍♂️. And, tbh, can you blame him for not wanting to engage with all the speculation? It's like, if he's out of contract, why should he even care what others think? 🤷‍♀️ Plus, his comment about contracts having no bearing on success is so true - it's all about the game day performances, right? 🔥 I'm keeping an eye on this one, can't wait to see how things play out at Old Trafford! ⚽💕

I don't think it's fair to label Ruben Amorim's time at Man Utd as a "waste of time" just 'cause Glasner isn't biting on the job 🤔. People are way too quick to write off someone's tenure before giving them a proper chance 😒. Can we really say what success looks like for these managers? And what about all the other factors that go into their performance, like team dynamics and injuries? Let's not forget, it's easy to be tough on a manager when they're getting sacked, but where are the fans who actually care about giving them another shot at it? 🙄

omg did u see that? 🤯 oliver glasner is like "no way i'm interested in man utd" straight up 😂 i mean whats with all these managers makin contracts and then just gettin sacked anyway? it's all just a big joke, ronaldo could do the job lol 💁‍♂️ anyway, i think glasner's got some point about contracts bein meaningless tho... i mean how many times has man utd changed managers in the last few years already?! 🤯
