Miss Piggy movie on way from Jennifer Lawrence, Emma Stone and Cole Escola

Hollywood is abuzz with the news of a Miss Piggy movie in the works, courtesy of A-list duo Jennifer Lawrence and Emma Stone. The film, which is currently being produced by the two actresses under their banner, will be written by Cole Escola, who is best known for his play Oh, Mary!, for which he won the Tony Award for Best Actor.

Lawrence recently revealed on a popular podcast that she and Stone are producing the Miss Piggy movie, teasing that they might even star in it together. The idea of Lawrence and Stone teaming up again has long been speculated among fans, given their close friendship and respective successes in Hollywood.

Interestingly, Lawrence had previously expressed interest in making her Broadway debut in Oh, Mary!, but ultimately decided against it due to the grueling eight-show-a-week schedule required for theater. "It's all your body and voice," she explained, "and I don't think I would be good at it."

The Miss Piggy movie will mark a significant departure from the character's previous solo outings on TV. Created by Jim Henson in 1976, Piggy started off as a minor role in The Muppet Show before becoming a breakout star and stealing the spotlight from her frog boyfriend Kermit.

As the Muppets franchise celebrates its 70th year, it's clear that Miss Piggy is poised to take center stage once again. With Lawrence and Stone on board, this movie has all the makings of a blockbuster hit – talented producers, a seasoned writer, and a beloved character ripe for the big screen. Fans can only hope that this project becomes a reality, given the talented cast at its helm.

Meanwhile, rumors have been circulating about a Disney+ special celebrating The Muppets' 50th anniversary, which will air in 2026. It remains to be seen how the franchise plans to revitalize itself for this milestone, but with Lawrence and Stone producing the Miss Piggy movie, it's clear that the Muppets are back and ready to bring their unique brand of charm and wit to a new generation of audiences.

I'm so excited about the prospect of Jennifer Lawrence and Emma Stone teaming up again in a film project! πŸŽ₯ Their on-screen chemistry is undeniable, and with Cole Escola penning the script, this movie has all the makings of a cinematic masterpiece. I do wonder, though, how they'll balance their own star power with the beloved character of Miss Piggy, who's undoubtedly a showstopper in her own right πŸ–. The fact that Lawrence had to pass on her Broadway debut due to the grueling schedule speaks volumes about the sacrifices one must make for artistic expression. Still, I think this project has tremendous potential and can't wait to see how it all comes together πŸ’ͺ

πŸŽ¬πŸ‘€ This is gonna be so lit! I've been waiting for a Miss Piggy movie for ages, and with Jennifer Lawrence and Emma Stone on board, it's gonna be a star-studded event! 🀩 Cole Escola's writing skills are gonna bring the character to life in a whole new way. Can't wait to see what they come up with πŸ’πŸŽ₯

🀣 So, Jennifer Lawrence and Emma Stone think they can handle playing piggy and moi? πŸ˜‚ I mean, I love a good movie, but let's be real, these girls are more worried about their next Oscar than getting into character. And Cole Escola writing the script? πŸ“ Good luck with that... or not. It'll be fun to see how they mess up Miss Piggy's iconic voice and mannerisms πŸ˜‚. The Muppets franchise is so old, I'm pretty sure Kermit is just a frog in a tiny suit at this point πŸ‘£.
