MPs ‘pushing hard’ to launch inquiry into Prince Andrew’s Royal Lodge residence

I'm totally baffled by the whole situation at Royal Lodge 🤔. I mean, come on, Prince Andrew has been living there rent-free for like, over 20 years! That's a huge chunk of change that could've gone to the public purse instead of lining his pockets 💸. And now we're finding out that he made a £1m one-off payment to lease the property for 75 years? That's just mind-boggling 🤯.

I think what really gets my goat is that our politicians are more worried about protecting royal finances than scrutinizing their conduct and accountability ⚖️. I mean, we're all paying taxes and contributing to the system, but some of these royals seem to be above the law 🙄. It's like they're living in a parallel universe where there are no rules or consequences.

I'm all for transparency and scrutiny, especially when it comes to public funds ⚡️. If our politicians want to protect the royal family's interests, then maybe they should be more transparent about their own financial dealings too 🔍. It's time we start holding these people accountable for their actions and not just sweeping everything under the rug 🚮.

I think this push for an inquiry into Royal Lodge is a great step in the right direction 👏. Maybe it'll finally get some of these royals to answer for their actions and be more transparent about how they're using public funds 💸. We deserve better than to have our taxes used to fund their lavish lifestyles 🤑.

I think it's kinda funny how people are suddenly interested in Prince Andrew's living arrangements after all these years 😂🏰 but seriously though, what's up with this whole thing? Like, he's been renting that place for like 20+ years and we're only finding out now because some girl comes forward with allegations?

And can we talk about how the government is trying to sweep this under the rug? "Pay your way" Rachel Reeves says? That's not a solution, that's just perpetuating the problem 🤑. I mean, come on, if you've got that kind of money, maybe you shouldn't be renting some guy's house for 75 years.

I love how the opposition is pushing back though. Keir Starmer's right to want transparency in royal finances, especially when it comes to public funds and stuff like that 💸. And Margaret Hodge is on point with her criticism of Andrew's living arrangements - it's time someone held him accountable for his actions 🙄.

I'm just curious to see what the National Audit Office's review turns up. Maybe we'll finally get some answers about Royal Lodge and what really went down 👀

I'm low-key relieved that MPs are finally pushing for some transparency around Prince Andrew's living situation at Royal Lodge 🙌. It's been super cringeworthy watching him enjoy this £1m mansion on taxpayers' dime without having to pay rent. I mean, who doesn't love a good royal scandal? 😂 But seriously, the fact that we're seeing public pressure build for an inquiry is huge. It's like, finally, people are demanding answers about how our money is being spent on royal luxuries.

I think it's interesting that Ed Davey from the Liberal Democrats is calling for "proper transparency" – it's long overdue. And I'm glad to see opposition leaders pushing back against Chancellor Rachel Reeves' suggestion that Andrew should just "pay his way". That's not how it works, Rach 🙄. The thing is, if we want to know what's going on with royal finances, we need a proper investigation.

I think this is gonna be super juicy when the National Audit Office publishes its report – can't wait for all the tea! 👀
