MS NOW host calls massive Minnesota fraud scheme 'isolated' in interview with MN attorney general

this whole thing is wild 🤯, president trump using somali community as scapegoat for his own mess is lowkey disturbing... meanwhile, attorney general ellison just tried to spin it like it's all isolated but we know that's not true - those reports from ny times showed the fraud was going on in pockets of the community for years. and what's with gov tim walz trying to distance himself? shouldn't he be owning up to how his office and others failed to catch this sooner?

I'm so sad about this... it's like, really easy for politicians to jump on every single thing that goes wrong and use it against an entire group of people. Like, President Trump is doing this with the Somali community in Minnesota and it's just not cool. You can't blame one incident like COVID-19 fraud on an entire community. I get what Keith Ellison is trying to say but it feels kinda vague? Maybe we should focus on how to prevent stuff like this from happening instead of just saying it was isolated?

I think Ellison is just being super polite and doesn't want to rock the boat 🙅‍♂️. I mean, if 75 people were involved in this massive scam, it's kinda hard to call it "isolated" right? 😒 And what really gets my goat is how Trump is trying to tie this whole thing to the Somali community - that's just plain racist 🔥. I think we should be focusing on getting to the bottom of how this scheme happened in the first place, not making assumptions about an entire community 🤔.

🤔 This whole thing is just so messed up 🚫 it feels like every time there's a massive scam like this, we get painted with a broad brush and accused of being guilty by association 👥. I mean, come on, 75 people charged? That's not an isolated incident, that's a pattern of behavior that needs to be looked at 👀. And let's be real, when Trump starts making these outlandish claims about the Somali community 🤷‍♂️, it's hard to trust his version of events. We need to have a more nuanced conversation about this stuff and not just lump everyone in with the bad apples 🍎.

I'm like totally shocked that Ellison is downplaying this as an isolated incident 🤯. I mean, 75 people charged? Hundreds of millions lost to scams? It's not just about one community, it's about a systemic issue that needs to be addressed. And what's with the timing? Trump is already stirring up hate against the Somali community in Minnesota... it's like he's trying to whip up some kind of drama 🙄. I think Ellison should be more specific about what was "isolated" - was it just the people who got caught or the whole community that was involved? It seems like a lot of people are looking for some way out, and that's not good for anyone 👎.

omg this is so not good 🤕 President Trump can't just go around making generalizations about entire communities and then pointing fingers at specific groups like the Somali community in Minnesota. it's not right 😔 I'm really disappointed in him for doing that. and Governor Walz and other state Democrats need to step up and take responsibility for how these schemes happened on their watch 🤦‍♀️ but also let's give credit to AG Ellison for speaking out against this and working hard to prosecute the people involved 💪
