Musalia Mudavadi says over 200 Kenyans fighting for Russia in Ukraine

Kenyans are fighting alongside Russian forces in the conflict in Ukraine. The number of Kenyans in the war zone has been reported to be over 200, with more potentially being recruited. Musalia Mudavadi, Kenya's foreign affairs minister, revealed that many of these individuals come from Kenya's security forces. However, their involvement appears voluntary as there is no proof they were coerced into fighting.

Recruitment networks are still active in Russia and Kenya, according to the minister. In return for participating, some recruits received up to $18,000 (Β£14,000). However, this has been reported to be less than what was initially promised. Furthermore, the Kenyan government expressed its concern over the growing number of citizens who have joined criminal activities abroad, particularly in Africa.

The situation comes amid speculation that Russia is attempting to expand its sphere of influence across Africa. South Africa recently launched a probe into how 17 citizens ended up in the conflict zone in eastern Ukraine. There are also reports of other African countries having citizens being held captive by Ukrainian forces.

omg can u believe kenya's security forces are fighting in russia 🀯 i mean, i know they're not mandatory or anything but still it's a big deal. and its not just kenyan soldiers, its also civilians who have joined the fight too... like what's going through their minds? πŸ’‘ is this really worth $18k? πŸ€‘ and its not even that much to be honest... anyway, i feel bad for the people who might be getting held captive by ukrainian forces... that's just scary 😱

OMG, this is wild 🀯! I remember watching the news about Eastern Europe back in '98 when I was like 8 πŸ˜‚. Now it's Africa getting involved? Russia trying to expand its influence across the continent... that's some crazy stuff πŸ’₯. What's next? Will China start recruiting Kenyans for their space program or something πŸš€? Anyway, I'm a bit worried about all these Africans getting sucked into conflict zones. Like, what's the economic gain here? $18k isn't even enough to make a difference in our lives πŸ’Έ. But hey, at least Musalia Mudavadi is being transparent about it... that's gotta be a first for Kenya πŸ€”. I just hope this doesn't lead to more instability and conflict on the continent 🚫.

I don't know if I believe this story is entirely true... I mean, $18k to join the war? That sounds like a pretty big deal. Where's the proof that these Kenyans aren't just being used as pawns or something? And what about the logistics of getting 200+ people from Kenya to Russia and back again without anyone noticing? It all seems a bit too convenient.

And I'm also wondering, if Russia is indeed trying to expand its influence in Africa, why hasn't it mentioned this before? Why now? What's the angle here? πŸ€”

I'm thinking, like, what's going on with all these Kenyans fighting in Ukraine? Reminds me of when I was young and people would talk about how some Africans were actually fighting alongside the US or UK back in the day... πŸ€”πŸ’ It's crazy to think that Russia is trying to expand its influence across Africa again. South Africa investigating their own citizens in Ukraine, that's wild 😲. And now there are reports of other African countries having citizens held captive by Ukrainian forces? That's just disturbing. And what about the money involved? $18k or less for joining the war effort? That doesn't seem like a lot to me... πŸ’ΈπŸ€·

πŸ€” I'm both shocked and concerned about Kenyans joining the fight in Ukraine 🌟. While some might see it as an opportunity for adventure or economic gain, others might be worried that our young men are being sent to a war zone without proper support or care packages πŸ“¦. 200+ folks showing up is crazy! πŸš€ My concern would be what's going through the minds of these recruits and their families? Are they truly volunteering or feeling some kind of pressure? The payment might be tempting, but $18k ain't cheap πŸ’Έ

This whole situation feels like Russia trying to expand its influence in Africa, which makes me think of all the instability we already face on our continent πŸŒͺ️. Meanwhile, our gov't is concerned about citizens getting involved in shady activities abroad - not sure how that ties back to Ukraine, but I guess it's a bigger issue than just Kenyans in Ukraine πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ We need more info before making any conclusions πŸ’‘

Man, people need to chill out about this Kenyan guys fighting in Ukraine πŸ™„. I mean, sure, it's not exactly ideal, but let's give them some credit – they're from the security forces and it seems like they're doing it on their own volition, you feel? It's all about personal choice, right? And hey, $18k is still better than nothing πŸ’Έ. I don't think we should be too quick to judge, especially when there are more pressing issues like African citizens being held captive by Ukrainian forces 🚫. Russia expanding its influence across Africa is a thing, but let's not jump on the bandwagon just yet ⏱️. We gotta consider the bigger picture here...

πŸ€” I'm telling you, this has gotta be more than just a coincidence. Russia's been trying to expand its influence across Africa for ages, and now they're recruiting Kenyans left and right? It's like they're trying to create an army of proxy soldiers to do their dirty work for them. And what's with the "voluntary" recruitment? I'm not buying it. πŸ€‘ Those $18,000 are probably a drop in the bucket for Russia. And have you seen the prices of oil lately? It's like they're fueling this whole thing to further their own interests.

And don't even get me started on the Kenyan government's "concern" about its citizens getting involved with shady activities abroad. Sounds like they're covering something up. 🀫 I mean, what if these Kenyans are being used as pawns in a larger game? It's all too suspicious for my taste.

You know what's wild? I was just thinking about trying out that new plant-based milk at the store yesterday πŸ₯› and it made me realize how much we spend on convenience foods. Like, do we really need all those processed snacks and drinks? Can't we just cook a decent meal ourselves instead? And have you tried making vegan sushi at home? It's actually pretty cool! 😊 Anyway, back to this whole Kenya-Russia thing... I mean, I get it, international relations are complex and whatnot. But seriously, who pays $18k to go fight in some war zone? That's like, a whole year's worth of rent or something 🀯

its crazy to think about Kenyans fighting alongside Russians in Ukraine 🀯, i mean, we've seen these types of conflicts play out in movies before but its all too real now. my grandkids ask me what's going on with the world and stuff like this happens. 200+ Kenyans are involved? that's just numbers, right? but seriously though, the whole thing makes you wonder about our own security forces and how some of our men & women end up over there πŸ€”. recruitment networks active in Russia & Kenya? that's a concern. $18k ain't bad, but if they were promised more... who knows what's really going on πŸ€‘

OMG, this is wild! Like, I'm reading about Kenyans fighting in Ukraine and I'm just... 🀯 how did we even get here?! 🌎 It's crazy that some of our own guys are over there, but at the same time, it's like Russia's trying to recruit more people left and right. $18k is a pretty sweet deal, though - who wouldn't wanna jump into a war for that kinda cash? πŸ’Έ But on the other hand, I'm low-key worried about our guys getting caught up in all this mess... did they really know what they were getting themselves into? πŸ€” And what's with South Africa investigating their own citizens being held captive by Ukrainian forces? It's like, we thought we were above all that drama πŸ™„.

omg, i'm getting chills thinking about kenyan soldiers fighting for what they believe in 🀯 meanwhile back home, we're still dealing with our own issues like infrastructure and education... it's wild how the world is connected yet also super divided πŸ’Έ $18k seems like a lot to be lured into war, but i guess desperation wins sometimes πŸ€” hope these soldiers stay safe and come home to a hero's welcome ❀️

.. this is wild 🀯. I mean, Kenya's got some brave dudes fighting alongside Russia in Ukraine... but at the same time, it's a huge red flag for me 😬. Like, what's going on with these recruitment networks? Who's running them and why are they targeting Kenyan security forces? And those $18k promises? That sounds like a scam to me πŸ€‘.

And can we talk about how this reflects on our continent as a whole? I'm not sure I want Africa being seen as some kinda proxy for Russia's global ambitions 🌎. We've got enough issues to deal with at home, you know?

I also feel bad for the Kenyan folks who are getting caught up in all this... they're just trying to make a living and provide for their families, not get pulled into some international conflict πŸ’Έ.

But hey, I guess it's a good reminder that our global connections can be complex and messy 🌐. We've got to stay vigilant and keep an eye on these kinds of situations, you feel me? πŸ‘Š

πŸ€” this is getting crazy, kenya's security forces are basically fighting on russia's dime and now there's talk that russia is trying to spread its influence across africa... what's next? 🌍 it's wild to think that some of these people might've been recruited with promises of cash but ended up stuck in the middle of a war zone. our govt needs to be paying closer attention to this and making sure everyone's not getting taken advantage of πŸ€‘

What's going on with these Kenyan soldiers fighting in Ukraine? πŸ€” I mean, I get that they wanna help their country, but $18k is a pretty penny to be fighting for. And what's up with the security forces getting recruited without any coercion? It's like they're being paid to put their lives at risk πŸ€‘. Russia's trying to expand its influence in Africa, huh? That's some shady stuff πŸ•΅οΈβ€β™€οΈ. The Kenyan government is right to be concerned about people joining criminal activities abroad, it's a slippery slope 😬. And what about the other African countries whose citizens are getting caught up in this mess? It's like we're living in a real-life video game πŸ’₯... but not the kind where you get to level up πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ

🀯 I just can't believe our Kenyan troops are fighting alongside Russians in Ukraine... it's like, what's next? 🌎 They say most of these folks come from our security forces, but still, it's a bit scary to think about who's behind this recruitment process. $18k is a decent amount, I guess, but if some were promised more and got less... that's not right πŸ’Έ

And have you seen the news on South Africa launching an investigation into how their citizens ended up in Ukraine? πŸ€” It's getting really complicated, and we need to keep an eye on this. As a parent, it's hard not to worry about our kids being recruited or even held captive... 😟 Can't we just focus on protecting our own people for once? πŸ’•

omg, this is wild... so like kenya's just sending troops to russia without us even knowing 🀯 and it's not even a huge number or anything, 200+ ppl? that's basically a squad in most other countries lol... but for real though, what's going on here? Russia's trying to expand its influence across africa? sounds like they're trying to be the new superpower or something πŸ€‘ and kenya's just along for the ride? not cool, man. i hope they get their promised payday tho πŸ˜‚ $18k was supposed to be a lot, but if it's really that low... that's just shady.

I'm not surprised to see Kenyans getting dragged into this mess... I mean, who wouldn't want to make some quick cash, right? $18k is a pretty sweet deal, but like, what's the catch? And now the Kenyan gov is all worried about its citizens joining up with criminal gangs abroad... sounds like they should be worried about being seen as complicit in Russia's dirty work. And let's not forget, this whole thing reeks of politics and power struggles. Russia trying to expand its influence across Africa? Please, it's just a way for them to line their pockets and mess with the global balance of power. We'll probably see more African countries getting pulled into this mess soon enough... πŸ€‘πŸ˜’
