Musk's Twitter promised a purge of blue check marks. Instead he singled out the New York Times

I gotta say, Elon Musk's plan to make users pay $8/month for blue check marks was already weird, but single-outting The New York Times like this? That's just low. I mean, sure, he's been beefing with the outlet for a while now, but come on, that's not the way to handle it. And now the whole verification policy is all messed up? It's like Musk didn't even think this through 🤯.

I'm not surprised, though. This whole thing feels like another example of how Musk wants to make Twitter more "equal" and less about protecting high-profile users from harassment. Newsflash, Elon: just because you're paying for blue check marks doesn't mean you can just ignore the real issues with bots and harassment 🚫.

And let's be real, this whole thing is also a great example of how Musk's personal beefs are starting to bleed into his decision-making as a CEO. I mean, if he's gonna make decisions that hurt reputable outlets like The New York Times, what's next? Is he gonna start banning people who disagree with him? 🤔
