My cultural awakening: an Eddie Izzard routine inspired me to learn French – and get a job with the EU

omg I can totally relate how seeing someone else passion for language learning gets you super inspired! 🤩 I mean like I watched this standup comedy show where the comedian was talking about trying to order food in Japan and it was so funny but also kinda motivating? 😂 and then I just started looking into Japanese language lessons and now I'm like 70% fluent lol. I think it's so cool how Eddie Izzard's standup can inspire people in such a big way... like who knew learning French could be so fun?! 🤔

Ugh, can we please make YouTube Premium get its act together? The algorithm is still so broken 🤦‍♀️. I've been searching for this video of Eddie Izzard's standup special for ages, but it just keeps showing me weird ads instead 📺. And what's up with the lack of offline playback option?! It's 2025 and we're still stuck in the Stone Age when it comes to mobile streaming 🙄.

omg can you believe how lucky this person is? eddie izzard's standup special changed their life for the better lol! i mean who would've thought that watching eddie make fun of french school phrases could spark a passion for learning an entire language? it just goes to show that comedy can be super inspiring 🤣. also, i love how they ended up working for the EU and getting to live abroad - it's like eddie's comedy brought them full circle 🌎. anyway, if you haven't seen "dress to kill" yet, you gotta check it out! 😂

I'm not surprised the author went down this path lol 🤣. Eddie Izzard's comedy is always hilarious, but also kinda inspiring. I mean who wouldn't want to learn French after watching them try to have a conversation with an animal 😂? But for real though, it's awesome they found their passion in learning languages and ended up working for the EU 🇪🇺. The EU needs more people like that! 🤝

this is so cool 🤩 i mean, who knew eddie izzard's comedy could have such a huge impact on someone's life? it just goes to show how powerful comedy can be in sparking new interests and passions 😂. but, you know, as much as this story warms my heart, i'd love to see some more concrete evidence about the author's language learning journey 📚. like, what specific resources did they use to learn french? were there any other comedians or cultural influences that played a role in their language learning process? 🤔

😊 I'm still thinking about this author's story... it got me wondering, what is it about Eddie Izzard's comedy that sparked such a profound change? 🤔 Was it the humor itself or the way he made learning seem exciting and carefree? For me, it's not just about language learning – it's about how we find our passions and purposes in life. What is it that sets our hearts ablaze? Is it something we've always known was missing, or does it emerge from unexpected places, like a comedy set 🎤?
