NBA rookie Jeremiah Fears calls Thunder's Luguentz Dort 'soft' after on-court scuffle

Thunders' Luguentz Dort Labeled as 'Soft' by Rookie Jeremiah Fears After Brawl with Pelicans Guard

A heated exchange between New Orleans Pelicans rookie Jeremiah Fears and Oklahoma City Thunder player Luguentz Dort has left many questioning Dort's toughness on the court. The tension boiled over in a recent game, where Fears was shoved by Dort during a layup attempt, sparking a scuffle that cleared the benches.

The incident occurred in Tuesday's Suns-Nets game, with officials failing to call a foul after Dort made contact with Fears. The Thunder went on to win the game 104-95, while Fears took to social media to label Dort "soft" in the aftermath of the altercation.

Thunder coach Mark Daigneault placed blame squarely on the officials, arguing that they lost control of the situation before it escalated into a brawl. He also expressed his belief that Dort should have been called for a foul during the play, and that the officials' failure to do so contributed to the outcome of the game.

The coach's comments suggest that Dort may not be as tough or physical on the court as some fans might believe. Fears' criticism of Dort has sparked debate among basketball fans, with some defending Dort's reputation as a "soft" player and others praising Fears for speaking truth to power.

Meanwhile, another incident broke out in the Suns-Nets game, where Nets guard Egor Dëmin pushed Suns forward Dillon Brooks to the floor. The chaotic scene that ensued resulted in five technical fouls being called, with players and coaches from both teams leaving their benches in protest.

The latest brawl highlights the growing tensions between NBA players and referees, with some players feeling that they are not being treated fairly by officials. As the season heats up, it remains to be seen how these incidents will impact the league's reputation and player morale.

omg did u see dat game? 🤯 i was thinkin Dort got robbed on dat layup attempt, but at the same time, Fears shoulda taken it easy lol 😂 Fears is right tho, refs have 2 step up their game. 🚫 i made a lil diagram to illustrate the situation:

```
+---------------+
| Refs failed |
| to call foul |
+---------------+
|
| Dort's layup attempt
v
+---------------+ +---------------+
| Fears gets | | Brawl erupts |
anywayz, these incidents are gonna be a major talking point in the league. players & coaches need 2 take care of themselves & each other, not just wait 4 refs 2 step up 🤝
omg lol cant believe whats goin on in the nba rn!!! i feel for lugetz dort tho, he didnt deserve to get roasted like that by jeremiah fears 😂 the refs are always gonna make mistakes but coach mark daigneault is right tho, they gotta step up their game if they wanna keep players from turnin into animals on the court 🤯 also, egor demin is straight fire for pushin Dillon brooks around 🚫 all these incidents r just proof that players r gettin more aggro with each passing season 💔
OMG, like what a total disaster on the court last night 🤯! I'm so done with these players throwing around their weight & calling each other out, yet can't even control themselves in a game situation 😒. And the officials? Like what a joke 🙄. They got absolutely roasted by Coach Daigneault for not even giving Dort a chance. I mean I feel bad for Fears, but come on, 'soft'?? Really? 🤷‍♂️ The NBA needs to get its act together & take care of these players before they all start looking like a bunch of babies throwing fits every time things don't go their way 😡. And can we talk about the other incident with Dëmin pushing Brooks around? Like, where's the accountability for that? 🤔
I gotta side with Jeremiah Fears on this one 🤔. I mean, Luguentz Dort's reaction was pretty wild and it looked like he was trying to intimidate Fears just for showing up in his face 😒. If that's what we want from our NBA players - a bunch of hot-headed egos clashing on the court? No thanks 💁‍♂️. I'm not saying Dort isn't tough, but if you're gonna throw down like that on the court, you gotta expect some pushback. And honestly, the officials were pretty bad for not calling that foul 🙄. It's all about accountability and setting a good example for younger players. If we're gonna keep preaching toughness and physicality in the league, then we need to see it from our stars, too 💪.
omg i was at the game last week 🤯 and i totally saw what went down! i felt bad for fears tho, he looked like he was about to get hurt 😬 but at the same time, i don't think Dort meant to shove him or anything... maybe he got caught up in the heat of the moment? 🤔 i'm a huge fans of both teams btw 👀 my fave player is brooks and i've been following his journey all season 📊 anyways, it's crazy how quickly things escalated into a brawl 🚫 and now people are labeling Dort "soft" 💁‍♀️ like what even is that? 🤷‍♀️ we need to chill out and focus on the game, not start drama 🎯 i'm all for players speaking up if they feel disrespected or something, but let's try to keep it civil, you know? 😊
I'm totally seeing why people call out Dort like that 🤔... stats say he's got a mean per game of 3.6 fouls on players under 6'4" in 2022-23 season, but this incident is getting him roasted 💥! 72% of NBA players are under 6'4", and if the refs aren't calling those fouls, it's gonna be a tough league for smaller guys 🤷‍♂️. The Suns-Nets game was a wild one, btw - 5 techs called? That's like, crazy 🚨!
