McLaren's Lando Norris dominated the Mexico City Grand Prix, taking control of the Formula One championship lead with a single point ahead of teammate Oscar Piastri. Norris' victory marked his sixth win of the season, and 10th career triumph, as he outpaced Charles Leclerc by an impressive 30.3 seconds.
Norris's pole position was secured from the start, but he faced early adversity as Verstappen cut the corner on his first lap, causing chaos in the midfield section. However, Norris expertly navigated the mayhem and emerged ahead, setting a clear path for the rest of the race.
Piastri, starting seventh, fought back to finish fifth after a virtual safety car denied him a shot at fourth place. Despite finishing behind Norris, Piastri is now just one point away from the championship lead, thanks in large part to Norris's dominant performance.
Max Verstappen took third place for Red Bull, just 0.7 seconds behind Leclerc. However, his efforts were thwarted by a series of incidents, including contact with Lewis Hamilton and later being passed by Oliver Bearman in the final laps.
Ferrari moved back into second place in the constructors' championship, ahead of Mercedes, as Norris's win was boosted by the Haas driver's impressive fourth-place finish. Norris also secured his sixth victory of the season, one less than Piastri, and cemented his position as a strong contender for the title.
Piastri acknowledged that the race was about limiting damage, but also trying to learn from his experience. Despite the setback, he remains in contention for the championship, and will need to be at the top of his game if he is to reclaim the lead from Norris.
As the season enters its final stretch, Norris's victory has given him a crucial boost. With four rounds remaining, Norris now has 357 points to Piastri's 356, with Verstappen on 321. The championship battle is far from over, and both drivers will be eager to secure the title in the next few races.

 - I mean, what can you even say? He just dominated that track like a total boss! But at the same time... I don't know if Oscar Piastri isn't being too harsh on himself about not getting that 4th place

On the other hand, Norris's win is like, super impressive and all that... but it feels like Red Bull was just really lucky with Verstappen's incident
