Opinion | Chicago’s schoolchildren need Gov. Pritzker to protect them from ICE

Ugh, this is so unfair ! I'm a parent myself, and the thought of my kid living in fear because of some ICE agents at school is just too much . Gov Pritzker needs to step up his game ASAP . Remote learning isn't the worst thing in the world, it's better than being stuck in a constant state of anxiety . And can we talk about how ridiculous it is that he's saying remote learning is bad when it's literally all our kids need right now ? It's not just a local issue, it's a national problem and someone needs to do something about it . Our school kids deserve better than to be treated like pawns in some federal administration's game of cat and mouse .

the situation is getting more intense daily i think gov pritzker should find a way for cps families to have online learning options without having to worry about the cops showing up at their doorstep, it's not just about giving kids an education, but also about keeping them safe from deportation. virtual classrooms can be set up in community centers or libraries, andICE agents shouldn't be allowed near schools
