OPINION: Trump’s racist refugee plan provokes evangelical protest

I'm so worried about this new refugee policy . I think it's really unfair that white Afrikaners from South Africa are getting special treatment while others, especially Christians fleeing persecution, aren't. It just doesn't add up . And to be honest, I've seen some Christian groups speaking out against this move in the past, so I'm not surprised to see this backlash now .

I think we need to take a closer look at what's really going on here and make sure that everyone is treated equally, regardless of their background or faith . We're supposed to be a country of immigrants and refugees who come seeking safety and freedom, right? It doesn't seem like this new policy is living up to those values .

We need to find a way to balance our own values with the needs of people fleeing persecution around the world . This isn't just about refugees, it's about what kind of country we want to be .

omg I'm literally torn about this ... on one hand I get why people are upset - it seems kinda unfair that white Afrikaners from South Africa are getting a special pass while others fleeing persecution aren't , but at the same time I can see how some of these evangelical groups might be worried about being seen as "judgy" towards certain demographics ... and isn't it weird that they're suddenly speaking out against this policy when they've been pretty vocal about their own brand of Christianity being under attack from all sides ? like, shouldn't they be more concerned with defending their own faith rather than trying to dictate who else gets in or gets help?

I don't think it's right that everyone gets treated equally just because they're fleeing their home countries. We all need help sometimes, but we can't just sit back and do nothing when someone is in trouble. The problem with this policy is that some people are being left behind while others get a special pass. It's not fair to anyone. You can't judge people based on what they believe or where they come from. Everyone deserves the same chance to start over and rebuild their lives.

idk what's going on with refugees lately , like, isn't it kinda cool that they're trying to help people in need? but this thing about white Afrikaners... I don't get it , aren't we all humans or something? and why are they making a big deal out of it if they're not even the ones who are being persecuted ? and btw, what's up with these evangelical groups lately? like, can't we all just get along?

This new refugee policy is super worrying, you know? I mean, if they're basically only choosing people from South Africa who are white Afrikaners... it just feels like they're picking and choosing based on skin color instead of actual need or situation . And the fact that faith leaders are speaking out against it because it goes against Catholic values is huge, imo . It's like, you can't just play politics with people's lives like this... especially when they're fleeing persecution .
