A Palestinian taxi driver recounted his harrowing experience of being attacked by a group of far-right protesters in Jerusalem's Old City on Tuesday.

The 32-year-old driver, who wished to remain anonymous, said he was targeted while driving through the crowded streets of the historic neighborhood. According to him, a group of about six individuals, wearing Jewish nationalist clothing and carrying Israeli flags, approached his vehicle and began shouting racist slurs.

"I couldn't believe what I was seeing," the driver said in an interview with our publication. "They were spewing hate speech, calling me 'Arab scum' and 'terrorist'. They started throwing stones at my car, and one of them even scratched my side mirror."

The driver claimed that he sped away from the scene, fearing for his safety. However, the attackers followed him, continuing to hurl insults and threatening language.

"I was terrified," the driver said. "I thought they were going to hit me or worse. I just wanted to get away as fast as possible."

Eyewitnesses reported seeing the altercation unfold on social media, with many expressing outrage at the violent behavior of the protesters.

"This kind of hate speech and violence has no place in our society," said one witness. "We need to stand together against extremism and intolerance."

Local authorities have launched an investigation into the incident, but the driver remains shaken by the experience.

"I just want to go back to work and feel safe on the road again," he said. "But this incident has left me feeling vulnerable and anxious about my future."

😱 that's so scary for the taxi driver, like really what was going through his mind when they were throwing stones at him 🤯. it's not right that people can be so hateful and violent towards each other just because of their background or where they're from 🙅‍♂️.

this is getting outta hand 😩🚗. i mean, who does that? attacking someone just 'cause of their skin color or where they're from 🤷‍♂️. it's like, we should all be able to coexist peacefully in this city, right? 🌆. the fact that these protesters were even carrying Israeli flags and shouting racist slurs is just wild 🤯. and what really gets me is that they thought they could get away with it by livestreaming their hate-filled rant on social media 😡. newsflash: we're onto you, folks! 👀

🤕 this is so messed up a taxi driver attacked in his own city for who he is, it's heartbreaking no one deserves to be treated like that especially not in a place meant to be peaceful like jerusalem 🙏 the fact that people are resorting to hate speech and violence is just disturbing we need to come together as a society to stop this kind of behavior 👊

I'm not sure if people really think we can't distinguish between what's acceptable behavior and what's not, but I do think it's harsh to label these protesters as extremists without getting the whole story. I mean, we don't know for sure why they were behaving that way - was it just a bunch of idiots spouting hate or is there something more going on? 🤔 The problem with social media is that everyone can see you saying and doing stupid stuff, but do people really take the time to understand the context? It's easy to jump to conclusions. I'm not saying what they did was okay, but let's not be too quick to judge. 👎

🤯 u guys, i'm literally shaking just thinking about this 😨. how can someone be that hatefull?? they're attacking a guy for driving a taxi, what's wrong with them? 🚗💔 the fact that they were carrying Israeli flags and wearing nationalist clothing is super suspect, like they're trying to stir up tension on purpose 🤝.

and can we talk about how this isn't an isolated incident? we've seen so many stories of hate crimes and racism lately, it's getting old 🙄. the police need to do more than just launch an investigation, they need to hold these people accountable 🚔.

the driver is lucky to be alive, but this could have been so much worse 💥. let's all take a moment to think about how we can promote unity and acceptance in our community 🌎. we need to stand with the victim, not against them 👊.

Ugh, my heart went out to that poor taxi driver 🤕💔. It's crazy how some people can be so racist & violent just because of their hatred towards others' culture. I mean, what's wrong with coexisting peacefully? Jerusalem's Old City is such a beautiful and historic place, but it sounds like it was taken over by hate groups 🗺️.

I'm glad the authorities are investigating this incident, but honestly, it's disheartening that some people still have no idea how their actions affect others. That driver must've been really traumatized 😱, and I can imagine how hard it must be for him to go back to work feeling anxious & vulnerable all the time 🤷‍♀️.

We need more love & understanding in our society, not hate & intolerance 🌎💖. It's up to us to stand together against extremism & promote peace & unity! 🌈

🤕 I mean, what's up with these far-right groups, right? They're literally out there harassing and assaulting people in the streets... like, what's next? Showing up at someone's house and throwing stones at their door? It's just not okay. And to think that this guy was driving his own taxi business, providing a service to tourists and locals alike... it's all just so senseless 🤦‍♂️. Can we please just come together as a society and reject this kind of hate and intolerance? 🙏 We need more people speaking out against extremism and standing up for each other. And honestly, who needs that kind of stress in their life? A 32-year-old dude just wants to drive his taxi without getting attacked... is that too much to ask? 😩

omg what a terrible thing happened to that palestinian taxi driver 🤕😷, i'm still shakin just thinkin bout it... those far right protesters are literally despicable 😡, how could they do that to someone just tryin to make a livin' and drive for a living?! 🚗💼 the fact that they were wearin jewish nationalist clothes and carryin israeli flags while harassin an arab dude is just straight up racist 🙄... i don't even know what's more disturbing, the fact that they threw stones at his car or that they followed him after he sped away 😨... authorities gotta step up and take action on this one ASAP 💪

I think it's pretty reasonable that a group of people got together in Jerusalem's Old City to express their nationalistic views, I mean, who doesn't love being passionate about their heritage? The Palestinian taxi driver might've been taken aback by the enthusiasm, but it's not like he wasn't aware of the tension between Israelis and Palestinians. I think the fact that the attackers were following him after he sped away is actually a pretty good indication that the driver was overreacting a bit...

🤯 this is so messed up... like who does that?! attacking a guy just for driving a taxi in jersusalem's old city? it's like they're trying to spread hate and fear wherever they go... and the worst part is, people are still standing around watching and not doing anything about it 🚫👮‍♂️. we need to stand up against groups like this and show them that their hate speech won't be tolerated 🤝.

omg what's going on in jerusalem rn?! 🤯 a taxi driver gets attacked by far-right protesters and they're yelling racist slurs like it's no big deal 😡 can't believe the hate speech is still going strong in 2025. i'm so tired of people using violence to express their opinions, it's just not okay 🚫 we need to stand together against extremism and intolerance, like that witness said 👊 and to the driver who got attacked, sorry you had to go through this 😔 hope the authorities take action and make sure something like this doesn't happen again 💯

Ugh 😷 this is getting out of control! We can't just sit around and let people spew hate speech and violence against others because they're different. I mean, what's next? Are we going to start seeing attacks on vegans or environmentalists too? 🤯 It's like, basic human decency and respect for others should be a given. The fact that these protesters thought it was okay to target someone just because of their nationality is absolutely sickening 🙅‍♂️. We need to stand together as a society and condemn this kind of behavior, not just tolerate it. 🌎

🚨 This is so messed up 🤯, can't believe people are being targeted like that because of their skin color or where they're from. I mean, we live in a society where everyone's supposed to be equal, but it feels like some people still think they're better than others just because of who they are.

I'm glad the driver was able to get away safely and local authorities are investigating this, but at the same time, isn't it about time someone got held accountable for this kind of behavior? It's not just the attackers that need to be punished, but also whoever is fueling this hate speech and extremism in our society.

We need to call out this stuff when we see it and support those who are being targeted. The driver is lucky to have escaped with his life, but what about others who might not be as fortunate? 🤕 We should be doing more to create a safe and inclusive space for everyone, no matter where they're from or what they believe in. 👊

🚗😬 I'm so sick of these far-right protests in Jerusalem. Like, can't we all just get along? 🤦‍♂️ This poor taxi driver is still shaking after that attack. I mean, who does this to someone just because they're driving a car and happens to be Palestinian? It's not like he was doing anything wrong.

I need some info on these protesters - what's the group they're affiliated with? Are there any consequences for their actions? 🤔 The fact that they were shouting racist slurs and throwing stones is just despicable. And what's up with local authorities investigating, but taking forever to get results? ⏰ This driver deserves some answers ASAP.

I'm also curious about the witnesses who saw this go down - did they report anything unusual to the police? 📚 The fact that many people are speaking out against extremism and intolerance is great, but we need more concrete actions being taken. 💪 Let's get to the bottom of this.

man this is so messed up 🤯... i mean i get that protests can get intense but attacks like this are a whole different level of crazy. how can you just go around spewing hate and threatening people for no reason? the fact that they were wearing jewish nationalist clothing and carrying israeli flags kinda makes it seem like an organized thing, but idk... maybe im just reading too much into it 🤷‍♂️. what's even more annoying is that the attackers followed him after he sped away from the scene... that's just plain reckless and violent. hope the authorities do find out who was behind this and make 'em pay 😒.

🤦‍♂️ I mean, come on... a group of far-right protesters attacking a Palestinian taxi driver in Jerusalem's Old City? That's just basic human decency right there 🙄. The fact that they were wearing Jewish nationalist clothing and carrying Israeli flags is pretty telling too - it sounds like an organized hate group to me 😒. And yeah, the language they used was straight-up racist and hurtful 💔.

But you know what really gets my goat? That this incident has been on social media for hours and we're still waiting for local authorities to take real action 🕰️. I mean, an investigation is one thing, but where's the accountability for these people? We need more than just words - we need concrete actions to stop hate groups in their tracks 💪.

And can we please talk about how this incident highlights the deeper issues of extremism and intolerance in our society? It's not just a Palestinian driver being attacked - it's a symptom of a larger problem that affects us all 🤝.

🤕 this is so frustrating what's going on with these far-right groups in Jerusalem they're always causing trouble and spreading hate speech like it's going out of style 🙄 why can't people just respect each other's differences? the driver was just trying to do his job and make a living, but he got attacked because of who he is 🤝 local authorities need to take action and punish those responsible for their violent behavior 💪

Ugh, can't believe this is still happening in 2025... 🤯 Like, what's wrong with people? This guy just trying to make a living driving a taxi and gets attacked by a bunch of extremists. And now he's traumatized because of it 😩. I mean, come on, if you're gonna hate someone, at least have the decency to respect their humanity. These protesters are just perpetuating this toxic ideology that's been around for way too long... 🙄. Anyway, kudos to the driver for speaking out and to the authorities for investigating this incident. We need more people like him who aren't afraid to call out hate speech when they see it 💪.

Can you imagine driving a taxi in one of the most iconic cities in the world and thinking you've seen it all, only for some far-right protesters to come atcha with their brand of crazy 😂. Like, what's next? A group of vegan activists showing up uninvited to complain about your gas-guzzling ride 🚗💨.

Seriously though, this is just terrifying. No one deserves to be subjected to hate speech and violence, especially not on the job. I'm all for free speech, but when it comes at the expense of someone's well-being, that's just not cool 😒. The authorities gotta do better than just investigating – they need to take concrete action to prevent this kind of thing from happening again 💪.

And can we talk about how these protesters thought they could just show up and start spewing hate? Like, didn't they know the driver was going to have security cameras rolling 📹? I mean, come on, people! You're not above the law... or basic human decency 😜.
