READ: Trump indictment and statement of facts related to hush money payment | CNN Politics

Former US President Donald Trump has been slapped with a total of 34 felony charges, according to the unsealed indictment released on Tuesday. The charges are related to hush money payments made during his presidency.

The document, obtained by CNN, reveals that Trump allegedly accepted at least $130,000 from lawyer Michael Cohen for two payments, one in August 2017 and another in October of the same year, to silence women who claimed to have had affairs with him.

Cohen was ordered by Trump to pay the hush money as part of a deal with Karen McDougal, a former Playboy model, but allegedly made the payments himself.

According to the indictment, Cohen also used $100,000 from Trump's charity foundation, known as the Donald J. Trump Foundation, and up to $150,000 in his own funds for the hush money payments.

The charges were brought under New York state law and include counts of falsifying business records and conspiracy.

This just got juicy 🀯 34 felony charges from a former prez? How did this all go down? I need to see more about that $100k from Trump's foundation... is it true he didn't know Cohen was making the payments himself? And what's up with the hush money for Karen McDougal? Did she really want to keep quiet or was it just a way out? This feels like a whole lot of deep state drama πŸ€”

omg this is getting crazy... 34 felony charges? like what even is that? i'm not saying trump didn't do anything, but $130k to keep quiet about some girl's affair? that's wild 🀯. and who knew michael cohen was the one making the payments? i thought he was just a lawyer. anyway, this whole thing is just so messed up. it's like, you can't even make a move without getting caught in something shady πŸ’β€β™€οΈ.

OMG 🀯 just read about this unsealed indictment and I'm SHOOK 🀯! Like, 34 felony charges? That's some serious trouble for Trump πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ. And the part where he allegedly accepted that hush money from Cohen to silence these women is wild πŸ’β€β™€οΈ. It's like, if you're gonna do something shady, own up to it and admit your mistakes, right? 😏 But I guess not in Trump's world πŸ™„. And what's with the Donald J. Trump Foundation getting involved? That's just too much drama 🀯. The worst part is, this could potentially affect his legacy and how people see him now πŸ‘€. Anyway, I'm keeping an eye on this one and will be here for all the updates πŸ’β€β™€οΈ!

just wondering what's going on with trump... 34 felony charges is a lot 🀯 seems like he's got some explaining to do about all that hush money shenanigans. i mean, i'm not saying he's guilty or anything, but it does seem suspicious how Cohen was the one making these payments himself πŸ€‘ and using Trump's charity foundation funds too... just hoping the justice system gets a handle on this ASAP πŸ’Ό so we can move forward without all the drama πŸ˜…

🚨 just read about trump getting slapped with 34 felony charges and I'm like what's going on here? So apparently he paid $130k to keep quiet about some girlfriends, and it sounds super fishy 🐟 that he had the lawyer Michael Cohen do it behind his back. And now we know that Cohen used funds from Trump's charity foundation too, which is just shady πŸ€”. The fact that these charges were brought under New York state law makes sense since that's where a lot of this stuff went down. I mean, you can't just silence people like that and then think you're above the law 😊. It'll be interesting to see how this all plays out!

I'm really surprised about this latest development with Donald Trump 🀯. It's like, he's been making headlines for years, but I didn't think it would catch up to him in a big way like this. The fact that he allegedly paid $130k to keep quiet about some women and then had someone else cover his tracks is just not cool πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ.

I'm also kinda curious about how Trump's team is handling this. Are they gonna try to plead their case or go all in on the defense? And what does this mean for him if he gets convicted? It's definitely a wild ride, and I'll be keeping an eye on it πŸ’₯

just thinking about this whole thing is wild lol 🀯 34 felony charges is a lot, i guess it's not surprising that he's getting slammed with all these since the deep state caught up to him. but still, who knew michael cohen was involved this much? like, what a wild ride he must've been on πŸ€ͺ

I FEEL LIKE THIS IS A BIG DEAL!!! IT'S SO STRANGE THAT TRUMP GOT AWAY WITH ALL THESE THINGS FOR SO LONG AND NOW HE'S GETTING HIT WHERE IT HURTS 🀯. I MEAN, COME ON, $130,000 TO KEEP QUIET ABOUT AFFAIRS? THAT'S CRAZY! AND THE FACT THAT HE USED HIS CHARITY FOUNDATION FUND TO PAY FOR IT? THAT'S JUST WRONG πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ.

I HOPE THIS INDICTMENT BRINGS SOME KIND OF SENSE OF JUSTICE TO ALL THE PEOPLE WHO WERE AFFECTED BY TRUMP'S ACTIONS. IT'S TIME FOR HIM TO FACE THE MUSIC AND TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR HIS ACTIONS 😬.

so this is crazy 🀯, i mean 34 felony charges are no joke, like, trump's days of getting away with stuff seem to be numbered. i'm still trying to wrap my head around how one guy can single-handedly unravel an entire presidency, but i guess that's what happens when you're not exactly known for your, uh, "lawful" dealings πŸ€‘.

what really gets me is the fact that it was his own lawyer who basically got caught in a web of deceit, and now he's paying the price. michael cohen's story is like something out of a thriller novel - i mean, who knew he was secretly funding trump's hush money payments? it's wild.

anyway, this whole thing has got me thinking about how accountability works in the US, especially when it comes to politicians. like, we all know there have been some shady dealings going on over the years, but it seems like some people are held to a different standard than others πŸ€”.

OMG, can't believe this is finally happening to him 🀯! I mean, 34 felony charges? That's a whole lotta trouble, Donald πŸ˜‚. And to think he was always whining about the "deep state" and how unfair it all was... turns out the law is just keeping up with you, buddy πŸ™„. The fact that Cohen basically bribed himself to do the dirty work for Trump is shady AF, btw πŸ’Έ. I'm not saying Trump didn't know what was going down, but to use his own charity funds? That's some dark magic stuff ✨. Anyway, justice is finally serving up a big ol' plate of consequences πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ... about time, if you ask me 😏.
