Rep. Jim Jordan on Justice Department potentially prosecuting Jack Smith: "I leave that up to them"

House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan maintained his stance on the Justice Department's potential prosecution of former Special Counsel Jack Smith, saying he leaves it up to them. The Republican lawmaker's remarks come as tensions between the two have been ongoing since Smith took office.

In a recent congressional hearing where Smith testified, Jordan was given an opportunity to question him. Despite this chance encounter, Jordan stuck to his guns on the matter of Smith's probe into President Donald Trump and his alleged mishandling of classified documents.

When asked by CBS News chief Washington correspondent Major Garrett about his views on the Justice Department's potential prosecution of Smith, Jordan remained unyielding in his stance. "I leave that up to them," he replied.
 
omg what's going on with these congress people 🤯 like can't they just agree on something? i was watching this hearing and jim jordan is being super stubborn about jack smith 🙄 so the justice department is gonna prosecute him or not idk. doesn't it matter if they do or dont? i mean, what's the big deal about classified documents anyway? is it like a huge security risk or something?

I'm not sure what's more surprising - Jim Jordan sticking to his guns or him actually leaving it up to the DOJ 🤣. I mean, it's like he's trying out for a role in a movie where he gets to be the "wise guy" who always says the right thing... but then does whatever he wants anyway 😂. The whole thing feels like a bad episode of 'Law & Order' - except instead of a detective, there's a congressman 🙄. Can we get a cameo from Donald Trump as the bad guy? That would be priceless 💥
 
😊 I'm not sure what's going on with these two. It's like they're playing some kind of game where neither one is willing to back down. Jack Smith is trying to do his job, investigating the President and whether or not he broke any laws, but Jim Jordan just won't budge. He's always been a bit of a firecracker, that one... 🚀 I'm not sure what's driving him on this one, maybe he's just trying to stick it to the Establishment? 🤷‍♂️ Either way, it's causing a big stir and making it look like some politicians are more interested in being troublemakers than actually getting things done. 🙄 Can't we all just get along... or at least figure out who's in charge around here? 🤔
 
I gotta say, this whole situation with Jim Jordan and Jack Smith is just getting pretty intense 🤯. Like, can't they just have a chill conversation about it? I mean, they've been going back and forth for ages now, and it's starting to feel like they're more interested in playing politics than actually figuring out what's going on.

And what's with Jordan being so inflexible on this whole thing? He's basically saying he trusts the Justice Department to handle it, but then he sticks to his guns and refuses to back down. 😒 Just great, more drama with these politicians... Can't they just put their differences aside and focus on what really matters? This whole thing is just a waste of time and taxpayer dollars 🤑 And now Jordan's being super helpful by basically saying "you're on your own" to the Justice Department 🤔 I mean, come on Jim, you're a congressman, not a lawyer... can't he just let the experts do their job? 💼 This whole thing is just going to lead to more delays and confusion for everyone involved 😩
 
so what does it even mean when they say "leave it up to them"? like, can't they just do their job already? 😕 and what's with all these congressional hearings anyway? I feel like I'm stuck in some kinda TV drama 📺. seriously though, how much more proof does the Justice Department need before they can actually investigate someone? 🤔 is it really that hard to get a warrant or something? 💼
 
You know, I was thinking, isn't it interesting how some people just stick to what they believe even if it means not knowing all the facts? 🤔 Like, Jim Jordan's gotta be sure he's right on this whole Jack Smith thing, but at what cost? Is it worth risking the truth and potentially hurting someone just 'cause that's what you think is right?

Jim Jordan seems like the ultimate example of this - still trying to push his party line even after he had a chance to grill Jack Smith himself 😒. but for real though, can't they just be honest for once and say if they think someone's in trouble? instead of playing it coy like that 🙄.
 
I'm not sure I fully buy into Jim Jordan's nonchalant attitude on this whole thing 🤔. I don’t usually comment but... I think it’s weird that Jordan is being so vague about this whole thing 🤔. He gets to question Jack Smith in a hearing and then just leaves the prosecution part up to the Justice Department? It feels like he's not really taking a stance at all, you know? Like, if he was gonna support or oppose something, he should at least have the guts to say it out loud 🗣️. And what’s with the “I leave that up to them” thing? Is he trying to be all neutral and stuff but actually hiding his true feelings? It just seems like a cop-out to me 😒.

Like, come on, as a congressman, isn't it your job to be curious? 🤷‍♂️ If someone's investigating the President, shouldn't you at least want to know more about what that investigation is looking into? The thing is, we don't know what Smith's probe has uncovered yet, and Jordan's already making some pretty big assumptions about it. What if there's something that proves Trump did indeed mishandle classified documents? Wouldn't he want to hear that in a trial? I get where Jordan's coming from as a Republican, but sometimes I feel like they're more concerned with protecting Trump than doing what's best for the country 🤷‍♀️🇺🇸
