Ritual, wrestling and Reddit: Grand Sumo meets internet fandom in London

I'm not sure why people are so hyped about sumo wrestling 🤔. I mean, it's just a bunch of guys shoving each other around on a mat 😂. Don't get me wrong, I found the live coverage at the Royal Albert Hall pretty interesting, but I'm still not convinced that sumo is more than just a novelty sport.

I also don't buy into all the hype about how diverse sumo fans are 🤷‍♂️. Yeah, sure, there are people from all over the world attending the tournament, but at the end of the day, it's still a pretty niche interest. And let's be real, most of these fans are just there for the novelty and entertainment value, not because they're actually into the sport itself 🤷‍♂️.

The controversies surrounding sumo wrestling don't bother me too much either 🙄. I mean, who hasn't been bullied or harassed at some point in their lives? It's not like it's a unique problem to the sport. And as for sexism, come on, it's just part of the culture 😒.

Overall, I think sumo wrestling is just one of those weird sports that people are into because they're not into anything else 🤷‍♂️. But hey, if you're into it, more power to you!
