Rumours of My Demise by Evan Dando review – eye-popping tales of drugs and unpredictability

I'm low-key impressed by Evan Dando's bravery in sharing his dark past 🤯... like, I get it, being famous isn't all sunshine & rainbows. It's crazy to think he wrote about this stuff before the whole world saw it 😂. But what really got me is how honest he is - no sugarcoating or pretending everything was peachy. I mean, his songwriting skills are insane 💯... "It's a Shame About Ray" still gives me chills. The thing that's kinda sad, though, is that he never really had to 'try' to be famous 🤔... talent can only take you so far, right? Still, it's awesome to see him navigate the ups & downs with such unapologetic candour 💖. Has anyone else read this book or listened to his music back in the day?

omg just finished reading "Rumours of My Demise" by Evan Dando 🤯 this book is SO raw, like he's sharing every dark secret and it's honestly kinda relatable? as someone who's been through their own struggles with addiction i can attest to how hard it is to overcome the cravings and the shame that comes with them. but what really struck me was how Dando's talent has always been his one saving grace 🎸 like, even when he was hitting rock bottom, songwriting was still this constant source of solace for him. and let's be real, "It's a Shame About Ray" is still one of the most iconic songs of the 90s 🤩 what i love about this book is that it's not some polished memoir, it's raw and honest and sometimes uncomfortable to read, but it's like Dando is inviting us into his world, warts and all 💯
