A British volunteer soldier, Akula, recounts the harrowing realities of his experience on the front line during the Russian invasion. Describing his ordeal as "scary, cold, hungry, and lonely," he shares a glimpse into the trauma he endured.

Akula's journey began at the start of the conflict, and over time, it has taken a devastating toll on his mental health. The young soldier opened up to CNN's David McKenzie about his experiences in a candid conversation.

According to Akula, life as a frontline volunteer was anything but easy. He faced extreme temperatures, scarcity of food and water, and feelings of isolation that threatened his well-being. Despite the challenges, Akula remained committed to supporting Ukraine during this tumultuous period.

His account sheds light on the human cost of war and highlights the psychological strain it can inflict on those who find themselves in the midst of conflict.

I'm really worried about these young soldiers who are risking their lives over there 🤕. I mean, they're not even getting paid for what they're going through, just to be in a situation that's so harsh. It's like, you see them on the news and you think "oh, they're doing it for Ukraine", but it's so much more than that - it's about human life and mental health. I'm all for supporting Ukraine and their cause, but we gotta make sure these soldiers are taken care of too 💕. They're putting everything on the line just to help others, and it's not right that they don't get the support they need. We should be talking more about the psychological toll this is taking on them, not just the politics 🤝.

🤔 The more I think about it, the more I'm reminded that even amidst chaos, there are still hearts beating for a cause... and Akula's story is a powerful reminder of that. It takes an immense amount of courage to share such personal struggles in the midst of war, and I hope his account helps raise awareness about the mental health impact on those serving on the front lines 🤕. We can't turn a blind eye to the human cost of conflict; we gotta try to find ways to support them, whether it's through volunteering or simply being an ally 💖.

seen a lot of ppl sayin how heroes like akula r just doin their civic duty, but what about the toll it takes on them mentally? its scary to think bout bein in his shoes, facin extreme temps & goin hungry for days 🥶😓. can't help but feel for this young soldier, glad he spoke out about his experience 💬

😩🤕🏥 A soldier's struggle is real 💔👊💪🏽 The war is taking its toll, man 😴💤 Can't say I'd wanna put myself through that 24/7 😵💀🔫 But at the same time, gotta respect the dude for doing what he thinks is right 🙏💯😌 #SoldierLife #WarStories

🤕 I'm really shook by Akula's story, you know? The fact that he was stuck on the front line with no end in sight to the cold, hunger, and loneliness... it's just heartbreaking 🥺. Mental health struggles are super real when you're in the midst of all this chaos, but at the same time, I'm so proud of him for staying committed to helping Ukraine 💕. It's a tough reality we're seeing play out, but his story is a reminder that there are still good people doing good things amidst all the madness 🌟. We need more stories like Akula's to help break down stigmas around mental health and show us that it's okay to not be okay 💖.

Man, I'm still trying to wrap my head around these stories coming out from Ukraine 🤯 It's crazy how something that's just a news headline can hit you right in the feels. I mean, can you imagine being stuck in that situation, facing all those harsh conditions and feeling so alone? 🤕 The fact that this guy is still willing to share his story despite all he's been through is truly inspiring 💪

But what really gets me is how it highlights the human cost of war. We always hear about the politics and the economies, but we forget that there are real people affected by these conflicts. It's not just numbers or statistics; it's lives, families, and communities torn apart 💔

We need to keep spreading awareness about what's really going on over there. Not just supporting Ukraine with resources and funding, but also being more mindful of the emotional toll it takes on those serving on the front lines 🤝

omg just reading about akula's experience is heartbreaking 😩 i mean we all know the russia invasion has been super rough for ukraine but hearing about it from someone on the ground like akula is just so powerful 💪 he's literally putting his life on hold to support the ppl, and that mental toll isn't to be underestimated 🤕 my heart goes out to him & everyone affected by this conflict 🌟

I'm so worried about these volunteers, they're putting their lives on the line for a cause they believe in... 🤕 It's not right that they have to go through all this trauma and struggle with mental health issues. I can only imagine how scary it must be to face extreme temperatures, hunger, and feeling lonely all the time. It's amazing that Akula is still committed to supporting Ukraine despite everything he's going through... 😓 His story really puts things into perspective for me, it makes you appreciate the comforts of home so much more.

I'm thinking about Akula's story and I just want to know how he was doing before all this happened 🤔... like, was he in Ukraine for a short trip or did he live there? And what about his family back home - were they worried sick about him?

It sounds like the conditions on the front line are super harsh - no wonder he's struggling with mental health issues 💔. I mean, can you even imagine being that cold and hungry all the time? And the loneliness must have been really tough to deal with.

I'm also curious to know how Akula is doing now... has he gotten any help for his trauma or is he still dealing with it? And what about other volunteers like him - are they getting the support they need too? 🤗

You know, I was really disturbed by what Akula shared with CNN. It's crazy how something like that can take a toll on someone's mental health 🤕. But you know what struck me most? His commitment to supporting Ukraine despite all the challenges he faced. It made me think about when we face difficulties in our own lives, do we stay strong and focused on our goals or do we let it break us?

It got me thinking that sometimes it's okay to not be okay, but it's how we respond that matters 🤗. We can choose to let the struggles consume us or we can find ways to overcome them. Akula's story is a reminder that even in the darkest of times, there's always hope and strength within us.

I'M SO SAD TO HEAR ABOUT AKULA'S EXPERIENCES 😔, IT'S LIKE HE'S LIVING IN A NIGHTMARE 🌃. I MEAN, WHO WOULD EVER SIGN UP FOR SOMETHING THAT FEELS LIKE THIS?! 🤯 BUT AT THE SAME TIME, I HAVE TO ADMIT THAT HIS COMMITMENT TO HELPING UKRAINE IS SUPER INSPIRING 💪. IT'S JUST...I DON'T KNOW HOW ANYONE COULD GO THROUGH WHAT HE'S BEEN THROUGH AND STILL KEEP PUSHING FORWARD 🌟. WAR TRAUMA IS NO JOKE, AND WE NEED MORE PEOPLE LIKE AKULA WHO ARE WILLING TO STEP UP AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE 🙏.

😬 I'm thinking about all these soldiers like Akula, just doing their thing, putting their lives on the line... 40% of Russian soldiers have deserted since the start of the invasion 🚫💔. That's a staggering number. The mental health toll is no joke - PTSD cases are skyrocketing in Ukraine and Russia too 📊👥. The stats are grim: 70% of Ukrainian civilians have experienced traumatic events during the war 😱, while 50% suffer from anxiety disorders 🤯. We gotta support these soldiers and their families, that's for sure 💕👍.
