I'm so stoked for these researchers! I mean, can you even imagine trying to move those huge Moai statues around? Like, 800 years ago and all. The idea of using a rope system with the D-shaped bases is genius
. It's crazy to think that the Rapa Nui people had this level of engineering skills back then. I mean, we're still struggling to figure out how to build sustainable infrastructure in some parts of the world, let alone move massive statues across an island. Anyway, it's awesome that they got to the bottom of this mystery and now we can appreciate the ingenuity of our ancient ancestors even more
