See ‘Star Wars’ legend react to Acosta’s Darth Vader impression | CNN Business

Mark Hamill, the iconic actor behind Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars franchise, has shared his thoughts on a potential spinoff series centered around his legendary character. The video interview with CNN's Jim Acosta was filled with laughter and nostalgia as they discussed various aspects of the Star Wars universe.

When asked about a possible prequel or sequel to the original trilogy, Hamill expressed skepticism, stating that he is not sure if there would be any new stories worth telling. However, he did hint at the possibility of exploring Luke's journey after his return from exile on Ahch-To.

Acosta playfully poked fun at Hamill by donning a Darth Vader costume, and Hamill couldn't help but join in on the fun, even sporting a makeshift mask to conceal his identity as Darth Vader. The lighthearted exchange was a welcome respite from the seriousness of discussing the Star Wars franchise.

Throughout their conversation, Hamill shared some behind-the-scenes stories from the filming of the original trilogy and offered insights into what it would take for him to return to his iconic role once again.

Hamill also reminisced about the lasting impact of the Star Wars saga on popular culture, citing its ability to bring people together across generations. He acknowledged that the franchise's enduring appeal is a testament to the power of storytelling and the imagination of fans worldwide.

As their conversation drew to a close, Hamill reflected on his time playing Luke Skywalker and how it has shaped him as an actor and artist. The interview served as a reminder of why Star Wars remains so beloved by audiences around the world.

Man, I'm loving this news 🤩! Mark Hamill is still bringing that iconic energy to the table, even when discussing potential spinoffs. I gotta say, his skepticism about new stories centered around Luke Skywalker makes sense, but it's cool to see him leaving the door open for a prequel or sequel. Maybe we'll get a story about Luke's life on Ahch-To? 🤔 That would be so fascinating! The part that got me most excited, though, was watching him and Jim Acosta go back and forth in those Darth Vader costumes 😂👊 I mean, who wouldn't want to see more of that? It just goes to show how much fun Star Wars can be, even 40 years after the fact. Anyway, it's clear that Mark Hamill is still passionate about the franchise and its impact on pop culture – here's to hoping we'll get some new adventures soon! 👍

I'm still trying to wrap my head around the idea of another Luke Skywalker spinoff... I mean, what's next? 🤣 Mark Hamill is such a class act, and it's awesome that he's keeping it real about not knowing if there are any new stories worth telling. But at the same time, I'm intrigued by the possibility of exploring his journey after Return of the Jedi. Maybe we'll get to see some cool flashbacks or alternate timelines? 🤔

What do you guys think? Do you want another Luke Skywalker series, or are you good with just leaving well enough alone? 🎬

I'm still in shock that Mark Hamill is still bringing the funny 😂. I mean, who else can rock a Darth Vader costume like it's their birthday 🎉? That guy's got skills. And can we talk about how relatable he was when talking about not knowing if there are new stories worth telling? Been there, done that with all my favorite childhood shows 📺. The nostalgia is real, folks! It's amazing to see how Star Wars still brings people together after all these years 💕. I'd totally watch a Luke Skywalker spinoff – just imagine the possibilities 🔮👦. And can we get more behind-the-scenes stuff? Mark Hamill's stories are like a treasure trove of fun 🏹!

man, i'm not surprised he's skeptical about more star wars stuff... we're already over-saturated with movies and shows, right? like, can't we just leave it at the original trilogy? i mean, mark hamill is an icon, but even he knows that trying to recapture the magic of the originals is a tough sell. plus, have you seen some of the other star wars content they've been releasing lately? it's all so... unnecessary. i'm good with just watching the original trilogy re-releases and calling it a day 🤷‍♂️

🤔 just watched this Mark Hamill interview with Jim Acosta and I gotta say, the guy's still got it 😂 even when he's poking fun at himself. it's amazing how Star Wars has become a part of our pop culture DNA, bringing people together across generations 👪. Luke Skywalker's character is iconic for a reason, and Mark Hamill's portrayal is still one of the most memorable in cinema history 🌟 as for that spinoff series, I'm down for exploring more of Luke's journey - but let's not rush into anything just yet 😐

omg u no wut i think about dis star wars spinoff tho 🤣 lol mark hamill is literally the best ever! i mean who wouldn't wanna c more of luke skywalker's adventures? but idk bout dat prequel/sequel thingy, im not sure if they cud pull it off 🤔. i do think its cool dat mark hamill is down 2 explore lukes journey after his exile tho! cant w8 2 see him in a new role 😂. and omg that Darth Vader costume swap between jim acosta & mark hamill was LOL 💀👊 seriously tho, star wars has had such a huge impact on pop culture its pretty amazing 🤩

I THINK IT'S SO COOL THAT MARK HAMILL IS STILL SO ENTHUSIASTIC ABOUT STAR WARS!!! 🚀💫 HE'S SUCH A CLASSIC ICON AND IT'S AWESOME TO SEE HIM HAVING FUN WITH JIM ACOSTA! 😂 I MEAN WHO DOESN'T WANT TO SEE LUKE SKYWALKER AGAIN? 🤔 IT'S AMAZING HOW THE FRANCHISE HAS LASTED FOR SO LONG AND STILL HAS SUCH A STRONG FANSHIP. MARK HAMILL BRINGS UP SOME GREAT POINTS ABOUT STORYTELLING AND IMAGINATION, TOO! 👍 I COULD WATCH HIM TALK ABOUT STAR WARS ALL DAY! 😎

🤔 I'm not sure about these new spinoff ideas... I mean, what's next? A solo series on Han Solo? 🚀 I feel like we've already had our fair share of prequels and sequels. Can't they just leave Luke Skywalker alone? 🙅‍♂️ Mark Hamill's skepticism makes me think maybe it's time to focus on other characters instead of rehashing the same old stories.

And don't even get me started on the potential for more Luke Skywalker content... I mean, we already got The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi. What's left to say? 😐 A spinoff series might just end up feeling like a retread of familiar territory. 📚 Can't they come up with something new and exciting instead? 🤷‍♂️

🤔 I feel like we've seen this before with other franchises trying to revive old characters, but Mark Hamill's humility about Luke's story is really refreshing. He's not trying to force a new narrative just for the sake of it 🙅‍♂️. It's cool that he's open to exploring more of Luke's journey, though! Maybe one day we'll get to see him as an older Jedi Master 👴🔮. The Star Wars universe has such a vast potential for storytelling, but it's great when the actors keep things grounded and focused on their own characters 💡.

I'm not sure if I'd be down for a Luke Skywalker spinoff series... I mean, we've already got a whole other generation growing up with the character now 🤔. Plus, Mark Hamill is still getting great roles in other projects - it's not like he needs to revisit old territory 🎬. But at the same time, I do think there are some cool storylines that could be explored from Luke's perspective... maybe something about his journey after the sequel trilogy? That would be interesting to see 💫. And omg, can you imagine Mark Hamill in a Darth Vader costume 😂😂😂 - that was such a fun exchange with Jim Acosta! 👏

idk what's more amazing luke skywalker's journey or mark hamills sense of humor lol, i feel like he's still got that youthful energy even after all these years 🤣 anyway, it would be so cool to see a spinoff series where we get to explore lukes life after exile on ahch-to - maybe there's some ancient jedi mystery waiting to be uncovered 🕵️‍♂️ also, can you imagine mark hamill in a darth vader costume trying to keep a straight face 🤣 what's your take on the star wars franchise - do u think it's time for luke to return or is there another character that deserves the spotlight?

I mean, who wouldn't want more Luke Skywalker? I'm dead serious though, 40+ years after the OG trilogy, we still need more Luke. Like, what's next, Han Solo getting his own spinoff... please no 🙄. But seriously, it's cool that Mark Hamill is keeping the faith and isn't hating on the idea of exploring new stories with Luke. Can you imagine an epic Luke vs Obi-Wan showdown? 🔥

😂 I love how Mark Hamill is still having fun with the whole Darth Vader thing! You know, I think it's crazy that he's even open to exploring more stories about Luke Skywalker's journey after his exile on Ahch-To 🤯 It would be so cool to see a more mature take on Luke's character development. Maybe something that delves into his inner struggle as a Jedi Master? 💫 And can we talk about how iconic it is that the Star Wars franchise still brings people together like that? I mean, my grandma loves it just as much as I do! 🤗 Mark Hamill really has that kind of effect on fans. The guy's got more talent than I'll ever have 😂

omg can u believe mark hamill is still as funny & charming as ever 🤣 he's like the ultimate geek but in a good way, you know? i remember watching star wars for the first time and being totally obsessed with luke skywalker... it's crazy to think that the guy who played him has become a legend in his own right 😎 mark hamill is proof that you can have a lifelong passion for something and still be able to poke fun at yourself and others - i love that about him!

🤣 I love how Mark Hamill is still down for some fun times even after all these years! But seriously, exploring Luke's journey post-exile would be awesome 🌟. Can you imagine how intense it would get if he were to return as Vader again? 😱 The man is a legend and his wit is on point as always 👏. Star Wars has indeed become a part of our pop culture DNA 💫, bringing people together across generations in a way that's hard to achieve 🌎.

I'm totally with Mark on this one 🤣, I mean, who needs more Star Wars when we already have the OG trilogy? But at the same time, it's fascinating to think about Luke's journey after his exile on Ahch-To... maybe a solo series could be kinda cool? 💡 The guy's got some amazing behind-the-scenes stories to share and it's clear he still has so much love for the franchise 🙏. And can we talk about how Star Wars brings people together across generations? It's truly magical ✨, I've met so many fellow fans at wellness retreats who are just as passionate about it as I am! Maybe instead of a spinoff series, we need more wellness retreats that celebrate our love for all things geeky 🧘‍♀️💖

OMG u wont believe what Mark Hamill said about Luke Skywalker!! 🤯 He's like "meh" to prequels and sequels lol, but he did say maybe we cud explore Lukes journey after he returns from exil on Ahch-To? 🚀💫 That sounds kinda cool, dont u think?? 😎 Anywayz, I love how he talked about Star Wars bringin ppl together thru generations 🌟👏 He's so down to earth and funny too! 👍 And can we talk bout the Darth Vader costume tho? 🤣👽 Mark Hamill crackd me up!!!

I'm thinking, CNN's gotta do better than this 🤔... I mean, come on, Jim Acosta thinks he can just throw on a Darth Vader costume and get Mark Hamill to crack up? That's not news, that's just a PR stunt 📺. And what's with the spinoff series talk? It's all about cashing in on nostalgia, rather than taking risks on new stories or creators 🤑. As for Luke Skywalker's journey... I mean, we already got that whole 'Return of the Jedi' thing wrapped up 🔴. Can't they just leave it be and focus on something else for a change?

I gotta say, I'm kinda surprised they even asked Mark Hamill about doing another Luke Skywalker spinoff 🤔. Like, dude's already done that whole "being a hero" thing and then got exiled on a island 🌴. What more is there to explore? I mean, don't get me wrong, the guy's iconic, but come on... it's been 40 years since the original trilogy - can't we just leave Luke alone for a sec? 😂
