We spend so much time trying to figure out how to survive in extreme conditions ourselves - think long hours at work, crazy traffic, or being stuck in a bad relationship... but then we discover something like this tiny snailfish and its just like "yeah, I can handle 27k feet of pressure and near-freezing temps" 
it's like, what are YOU trying to do? We're all just tiny humans trying to navigate our own dark depths (literally and figuratively). Anyways, just a reminder that even in the darkest places, there's still so much beauty and resilience to be found

I've seen some cool deep-sea creatures before, but this one takes the cake. 
... but seriously, 27k feet is crazy! And I'm guessing those "bizarre" features are actually super evolved for survival. I mean, who needs bright colors when you're basically invisible in the dark?
