Senator says ICE 'attack dog' caused 'horrific' injuries to unresisting man as he was detained

US Senator Patty Murray has condemned the Trump administration for what she described as an "horrific" incident involving an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) "attack dog" that mauled a detained man. Wilmer Toledo-Martinez, who is undocumented and was brought to the US at age 15, suffered deep cuts on his side after ICE agents lured him out of his home under false pretenses.

According to Murray, another agent accompanied by a dog released the animal on Toledo-Martinez shortly after he stepped outside. The senator claimed that Toledo-Martinez was not resisting arrest or attempting to flee when the dog attacked and that he was denied medical care for hours following the incident.

Toledo-Martinez is currently being held at the Northwest ICE processing center, where Murray called for his immediate release. Photos provided by the senator showed deep cuts on his side, which she described as "a result of the dog's vicious attack".

The Department of Homeland Security has not commented on the incident. However, it comes amid reports of other violent incidents involving ICE agents, including one in which an agent appeared to run over a man's foot during an arrest.

US Congresswoman Adelita Grijalva of Arizona was also injured during a protest against a federal immigration raid at a Mexican restaurant in Tucson, where she claimed to have been "sprayed in the face" by a chemical agent. The mayor and vice-mayor of Tucson have since condemned the enforcement operation, saying it had "rapidly escalated into violence against the public".

🀯 come on, is this still happening? these "attack dogs" are getting out of control! πŸ•ICE is supposed to be about deporting people not terrorizing them. I mean, what's next? a drone strike on someone's backyard? πŸ’£ and what about Wilmer Toledo-Martinez? dude gets mauled by an ICE agent and what does he get? denied medical care for hours? that's just inhumane πŸ€•. the government needs to step up their game and start holding these people accountable for their actions. it's time to put a stop to this brutality πŸ’ͺ

πŸ€• this is just another example of how messed up our immigration system is 🀯 ICE agents are supposed to be protecting people's rights, not attacking them for being undocumented πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ it's like they think the person is a threat just because they're in the country without papers 🚫 what's the point of having a prison system if you're just gonna send people back out onto the streets? πŸ˜•

πŸ€• This is just appalling. The level of brutality exhibited by these ICE agents is unacceptable. I mean, can you even imagine if someone was luring your child out of their home under false pretenses and then unleashing a vicious dog on them? 😱 It's unconscionable that the senator is calling for immediate release for this poor man and that his medical care was denied for hours. The fact that other agents have been involved in violent incidents, including running over someone's foot during an arrest, raises serious questions about the training and accountability of ICE personnel.

It's also telling that the Department of Homeland Security isn't commenting on this incident. Where is the oversight? Where are the checks and balances to prevent such egregious abuses of power? πŸ€” We need more transparency and accountability in our immigration system, not less.

I'm so worried about Wilmer Toledo-Martinez πŸ€•... this is just heartbreaking πŸ˜”. I mean, can you even imagine being 15 and having your whole life turned upside down like that? And for what? Because of some messed up immigration system we have here πŸ™„. It's just not right. But at the same time, I'm kinda hoping that this incident brings some change to the way ICE is handling situations like this 🀞. Maybe it'll make them realize they need to be more careful and humane in their actions? Fingers crossed! πŸ€— And I'm also thinking about Wilmer's story and how it can help people see that immigrants are just regular humans who deserve our compassion and understanding ❀️. We need to create a system that values everyone, regardless of where they're from 🌎. This incident is a wake-up call for sure...

omg this is so sad πŸ€• wilmer toledo martinez was just 15 when he got here as an undocumented kid and now this horrific thing happens to him... like what kinda person orice agent would do that? i mean, senator patty murray is all over this and rightfully so. how can we let this keep happening?ICE has a reputation for being super aggressive already but this is just ridiculous. they need to step up their training and make sure these agents aren't just animal control πŸ•πŸ˜‘

OMG this is so messed up 🀯! I'm totally with Patty Murray on this one - an ICE "attack dog" attacking a guy who's just trying to live his life? That's insane 😨. I mean, what even is that kind of training for these agents? And to think they're supposed to be enforcing the law, not terrorizing people πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. It's like, Wilmer Toledo-Martinez didn't do anything wrong - he was just coming home from work and then BAM! ICE dog comes out of nowhere and bites him 😳. And what about the medical care? Four hours without help? That's just cruel πŸ’”. I don't know how many more incidents like this we need to see before something changes, you know? πŸ™„

πŸ•πŸ’‰πŸ˜‚ICE is like a bad joke πŸ˜‚ ICE agents are like the ultimate buzzkill. When you think you've got an attack dog on speed dial, but really you just need some basic first aid πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ Anyone else have to Google "how to stop bleeding with a paperclip" 🀣

this is just too much! 🀯 how can we trust these agents with our safety? wilmer's story is horrific enough but then he's left to suffer for hours without medical care... that's a human rights violation right there. i mean, what even is an "attack dog" doing in a situation like this? and why does no one at DHS have anything to say about it? πŸ€” meanwhile we're seeing more and more stories of people getting hurt or maimed by these agents... adelita's story is just as shocking, she was literally sprayed with some kind of chemical agent for standing up against a raid that didn't even need to happen in the first place. what's going on here? 🚨

I'm so appalled by this incident. ICE agents need to be held accountable for their actions - those dogs are trained for control not companionship 🀯. It's heartbreaking that Wilmer was attacked and didn't get proper medical help in time. The lack of comment from DHS is disturbing, it's like they're just ignoring the issue altogether πŸ™„. This is not an isolated incident, other reports have been coming out about ICE agents using excessive force during arrests. We need better training and oversight for these agents to ensure public safety 🚨. I'm with Sen Murray on this one, Wilmer should be released immediately ⏰.

OMG, this is soooo not okay!!! 🀯 I mean, who does that?! ICE agents are supposed to be enforcing laws and helping people, not attacking them with dogs! 😨 Wilmer Toledo-Martinez was just a scared kid who got lured out of his home by false pretenses... and then gets mauled by the dog? Noooo! πŸ•πŸ˜· It's horrific, period!

I'm literally shaking thinking about this... and to think that he was denied medical care for hours?! How is that even allowed?! 😑 We need some serious reform in this country ASAP! Like, what's being done to stop this kind of abuse? πŸ’” I know Rep Grijalva went through a traumatic experience too, but at least she got away... Toledo-Martinez wasn't so lucky. πŸ€• This is why we need more voices like Sen Murray speaking out against this sort of thing! We need change now! πŸ’ͺ

OMG I cant even believe this is still happening 🀯 ICE agents are literally animal control πŸ•ICE agents are supposed to be protecting people not attacking them 😨 Wilmer's injuries sound so bad and it's crazy that he was denied medical care for hours 🀒 I'm so worried about him and his family, they deserve better πŸ’” And what's going on with these other violent incidents involving ICE agents? It's like they're not even following the law 🚫 They need to be held accountable for their actions πŸ’― I hope Wilmer gets released ASAP and receives the medical care he needs ❀️

😱 can you believe what's happening with ICE agents?! 🚨 they're like wild animals out there! Wilmer Toledo-Martinez was just minding his own business and then BAM! these so-called "agents" show up and start terrorizing him. No medical care for hours after he gets mauled by that dog? 🀯 That's a recipe for disaster. And to make matters worse, Congresswoman Adelita Grijalva got hurt too during another protest. This is what happens when you have law enforcement agencies more interested in intimidating people than actually doing their job! πŸ™„ What's going on with these people?! The lack of accountability and common sense from our government officials is just staggering.

🀯 This is just sick πŸ€• I'm so fed up with the ICE agents, they're literally animals πŸ•. A 15-year-old kid brought to this country by his parents and now he's being treated like that 😱? The cuts on his side look super deep, how can you even be that cruel? πŸ’‰ And what really gets me is that no one in charge has taken responsibility or apologized for it πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ. This is just more proof of a system that doesn't care about human lives πŸ€–. We need to start holding our leaders accountable and demanding better treatment of immigrants πŸ‘Š.

OMG u guys 🀯! Can't believe this 😱! I mean I already knew ICE was super sketchy but wow this is crazy πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ! Like why would they even use a dog in an arrest? That's just animal cruelty πŸ•πŸ˜‘! And now Wilmer's got these deep cuts and no medical care for hours?! 😩 That's so not right, Patty Murray is totally right to be all upset about it πŸ™Œ! And what's with the Dept of Homeland Sec not commenting on this tho? πŸ€” Like, don't they have anything to say about this? πŸ™„

And meanwhile, there's more reports of ICE agents being super aggressive... like that one time an agent ran over someone's foot πŸš«πŸ’£! And Congresswoman Grijalva got sprayed with some chemical agent at a protest? 😷 Like, come on guys! Can't we just have peaceful protests around here? 🀝 It's all just getting so out of hand... ICE needs to get their act together ASAP πŸ’ͺ!

This is just disgusting 🀯, can't believe these ICE agents are so cruel to people who are already vulnerable. Wilmer's situation is horrific, a dog was released on him when he wasn't even resisting arrest? That's animal cruelty in my book! I'm not surprised the senator is speaking out against this - we need more voices like hers pushing for change. This incident highlights the real danger these immigration policies pose to people's lives. We can't just ignore this kind of treatment and say "oh, it's just one bad apple" when there are so many examples like this that show a systemic problem. I'm calling on the government to take immediate action and make sure something like this never happens again 🚫πŸ’ͺ

πŸ€• This is absolutely horrific... how can ICE be so reckless?! Wilmer's dad told an interview that his son was just walking to pick up some laundry when the agents showed up. Like, what even is the protocol here? And no medical care for hours after the attack? πŸš‘ It's like they're more concerned with "taking people down" than actually helping them. I mean, we're talking about a guy who's already undocumented and living in fear of deportation. The fact that he was mauled by an "attack dog" is just unacceptable. πŸ•

Ugh, can't believe this is still happening 🀯... like, what even is the point of having laws if we're just gonna let ICE agents do whatever they want? This dog attack is straight outta a horror movie. And to think that Wilmer was just 15 when he got brought to the US... it's not like he did anything wrong, you know? The fact that he got denied medical care for hours after this thing happened is just gross 🀒. And now he's stuck in this processing center with who knows what other "incidents" waiting to happen... it's just a nightmare. Why do we need so many "attack dogs"? Can't we just have regular cops? πŸ˜’
