Ugh, this is gonna be a disaster...
I mean, can we really trust that they'll pass the bill before Friday turns into Saturday? It's already super sketchy that some senators are whining about a provision that's meant to prevent frivolous lawsuits. Like, what's next? Are we gonna see them sue each other for using their favorite pens?
And don't even get me started on the immigration part... it's just a PR move to placate the public after those fatal shootings in Minneapolis. I bet they're secretly gonna do nothing to stop ICE from terrorizing innocent people. The whole thing reeks of empty promises and token gestures.
It's clear that both parties are playing games, waiting for others to cave so they can get what they want. The House Republicans are already threatening to hold out on DHS funding, which is just a clever way of saying they're trying to sabotage the deal. And what about Speaker Johnson's "we'll reconvene Monday morning" bluff? Yeah right...
I wouldn't put it past them to stall and then pull the rug from under everyone else.
