Shrapnel hits cars on California highway during Marines celebration

omg this is crazy 🤯 the whole thing just feels so reckless to me... like who clears these events to start with? the fact that they're allowing live munitions firing on a highway with hundreds of people around is insane 🚨 obviously something went wrong and thank god no one was hurt but it's still super worrisome. i'm all for celebrating our troops, but come on guys let's get some safety protocols in place first? 🙏

i mean Gavin Newsom is right though, it does feel like they're more worried about the show than actual safety concerns... and JD Vance's responses just sound super out of touch 🤷‍♂️. as for Trump being involved, idk what to think but it does seem like a pretty low light moment for him 📺 anyway, let's just hope something like this never happens again and we can have safe & fun events celebrating our military 🎉

I'm literally still shaking my head over this... what kind of planning does the Marine Corps do?! 🤯 I mean, they say their event went through "rigorous safety evaluations" but it's clear that just one little oversight led to a potentially disastrous situation. And now, people are actually saying that Vice President Vance is at fault? I get why California Governor Newsom would be upset, but can't we all just agree on how messed up this was?! 🚗💥 How do you even plan for shrapnel hitting cars on the highway?! It's not like it's a matter of if, but when. And what about those officers who got hit by shrapnel? You'd think they'd be more worried about that than politics... 😩
