Sirāt review – rave in the desert leads to exasperating quest in the sands of Morocco

Ugh 🤔 I'm so over this whole "desert rave" thing. Sounds like a total nightmare. Like, who thought it was a good idea to combine a bunch of partygoers in the middle of nowhere? 🌄 It's just begging for things to go wrong, and boy does it ever 😱. And now I'm stuck watching some guy's daughter get lost in all this chaos? 🤦‍♂️ No thanks. The more I think about it, the more I think the filmmakers were trying too hard to be all deep and meaningful, but ended up just coming across as pretentious 🙄. I mean, can't they just make a decent party movie without all the drama? 🎉 Just give me something simple and fun for once... 😒
 
I'm so done with these pretentious art house films 🤦‍♂️ thinking they can get away with serving up a mess of half-baked themes and plotlines. This one's got too many layers - or should I say, contradictions? It's like the filmmakers took every buzzword from the indie cinema playbook and mashed them together into a beautiful mess.

But you know what really gets my goat? The way they're trying to pawn off this "quest" narrative as some kind of commentary on the search for meaning in the desert landscape 🗺️. Please, it's just a bunch of people dancing in the sand with their eyes closed and their hands up in the air. It's like they think we're all just wandering around looking for our own personal paradise (Sirāt, am I right?) without ever stopping to consider the systemic issues at play.

And don't even get me started on the tone - it's like they're trying to straddle two worlds and end up stuck in the mud. It's either a serious drama or a wacky comedy - can't make up their minds 🤔. Newsflash: if you're gonna do something, do it right. This film is a perfect example of how ambition can lead to disaster when you're not willing to put in the work.
 
I just saw this thread and I gotta say, I'm still reeling from it 😂. I mean, I love how they tried to tackle that wild combo of rave party and desert quest, but honestly, the execution kinda fell flat for me. The characters felt like cardboard cutouts and the story meandered all over the place 🤪. And don't even get me started on the tone - it was like someone took a bunch of different vibes and mashed them together into this weird, uneven mess 🎨. I guess what I'm saying is, if you're gonna go big or go home, you gotta go big 😂. This one just didn't quite hit the mark for me 👎
 
🤔 I'm so done with these desert raves 🏜️... like what's up with these people? They're just partying in the middle of nowhere while someone's kid is missing 🚨? And then the army shows up and it's all like a scene from Monty Python 😂... but seriously, can't they all just get along? 🤷‍♂️ The movie tries so hard to make this weird quest thing work but it's just a mess 📦. I mean, I'm rooting for Luis and Esteban to find Mar but at the same time, I don't know how they're gonna get outta this one 🤯... it's like they're stuck in some kind of surreal nightmare 😳
