Texas man, 95, sets record as oldest bus driver: 'I don't have no desire to quit'

At 95 years young, Raymond Hager has achieved an extraordinary feat as the oldest bus driver in the world, shattering records and defying expectations of retirement. The Texas native has been driving municipal buses for Wichita Falls since 1998, a career that has spanned over two decades, leaving him as one of the longest-serving drivers on record.

Despite his advanced age, Hager remains passionate about his job, describing it as "out and moving" which he seems to crave more than sitting at home. He even confesses that getting four or five hours of sleep a night leaves him feeling ready to go. His monthly health check-ups have shown no signs of slowing him down, with his doctor declaring him fit for duty.

Hager's dedication to his job is a testament to his lifelong purpose and passion, as lauded by Wichita Falls Mayor Tim Short. The 95-year-old driver has become an inspiration to many, highlighting the growing trend among Americans who are extending their working days far beyond retirement age due to increasing costs of living and stagnant wages.

Hager's remarkable journey began on a family farm, where he drove cotton to a gin as a teenager. This early experience ignited his love for driving, which has only grown stronger over the years. As he embarked on this incredible journey, Hager became an integral part of the community, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues, passengers, and the general public.

Guinness World Records officially recognized Hager's achievement in June, certifying him as the oldest active bus driver worldwide. The recognition was followed by a proclamation from Wichita Falls' city government declaring November 18th "Raymond Hager Day," marking his 95th birthday. When asked to accept this honor, Hager humbly remarked that he felt blessed and hard to fathom the magnitude of his achievement.

At 95 years old, Raymond Hager stands as a shining example of resilience, determination, and passion for life. His story serves as a heartwarming reminder that age is merely a number and that with dedication and perseverance, anything is achievable, even in one's golden years.

He's actually 94 not 95 lol ๐Ÿ™„. That being said I gotta give the dude props he's defo breaking records out here! I mean, who needs early retirement when you're still feeling it at 94? ๐Ÿ˜‚ Four or five hours of sleep a night is straight fire (or should I say straight crazy?). Seriously though, his dedication to his job is inspiring and shows that age is just a number. It's also great to see the community coming together to celebrate him โ€“ that's what it's all about! Wichita Falls is lucky to have him driving their buses ๐ŸšŒ๐Ÿ’จ

I gotta say ๐Ÿคฉ, I'm totally blown away by Raymond Hager's achievement. 95 and still driving buses like it's nobody's business! ๐Ÿ˜‚ That's the kind of determination and passion for life that inspires us all. I love how he says "out and moving" - it's like he's saying life is too short to sit around, you gotta keep moving forward. And four or five hours of sleep a night? That's dedication! ๐Ÿ’ค I'm curious to know what his secret is - does he have any special energy drink or something ๐Ÿ˜‚. But seriously, this guy's an inspiration and a reminder that age is just a number. He's proving that with hard work and perseverance, you can achieve anything in life. ๐Ÿ’ช

I gotta say, 95 and still crushin' it on the bus route ๐Ÿ˜‚๐ŸšŒ! I mean, Ray Hager's got some serious motivation goin' on. Four or five hours of sleep a night? That's dedication right there ๐Ÿ’ค. And his doc says he's good to go? That's amazing ๐Ÿ™Œ. It's clear this guy's not done yet, and I'm kinda jealous ๐Ÿ˜œ.

I love that he's found a way to stay engaged and passionate about his job, even in his golden years ๐ŸŽ‰. And it's not just him, either - there are so many people out there who are makin' the most of their careers, no matter what age they are ๐Ÿ”ฅ.

Hager's story is like a reminder that we're all capable of more than we think, and that life starts at 90 (just kidding ๐Ÿ˜‰). Seriously though, this guy's an inspiration, and I'm glad to see him gettin' the recognition he deserves ๐Ÿ™.
