Texas state trooper scolds South Carolina wide receiver after touchdown; department speaks out

A Texas state trooper has been relieved of his game-day assignment after being caught on camera scolding South Carolina's Nyck Harbor, a wide receiver, after a touchdown. The incident occurred at Kyle Field in College Station, Texas, during Saturday's college football game between the Texas A&M Aggies and the Gamecocks.

Eyewitnesses report that Harbor suffered an injury to his right hamstring after catching a pass and running for an 80-yard score. After continuing to walk into the tunnel, several of his teammates joined him, while Harbor was still in pain. An officer walked in between Harbor and teammate Oscar Adaway III, making contact with both players before scolding Harbor.

The police department later announced that the officer in question had been relieved of his game-day assignment due to "unsuitable behavior" during the incident. NBA star LeBron James also called for the officer to be suspended on social media, stating that the behavior was "premeditated and corny."

Despite being down by 27 points at one point, Texas A&M staged an incredible comeback, outscoring South Carolina 28-0 in the second half to secure a 31-30 victory. The Aggies' Marcel Reed threw for a career-high 439 yards and three touchdowns in the comeback.

The game marked the biggest comeback in college football history, eclipsing a 21-point rally by Johnny Manziel-led Duke in the 2013 Chick-fil-A Bowl over North Carolina State.

Dude, can you believe that cop was all like "what's up with the hamstring?" 🀣 I mean, I get it, injury and all that but come on! He had no right to be scolding Nyck Harbor like he was a kid getting caught shoplifting at the mall. The officer in question must've been having an epic day, where everything went wrong except for his bad cop skills πŸ’β€β™‚οΈ, am I right? LeBron's got game with those tweets tho, premeditated and corny is def a thing... but on a scale of 1-10, I'd say the officer was more like a 3 - not even close to LeBron's level πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ!

OMG, can you believe that Texas state trooper got relieved of his job for scolding Nyck Harbor after he scored a touchdown? 🀯 I mean, I get it, Harbor was hurt and Oscar Adaway III was trying to help him out, but the officer's behavior was totally uncalled for! 😬 It looks like the NBA star LeBron James was right on point when he said the cop's behavior was "premeditated and corny" 🀣. And can we talk about how insane it is that Texas A&M came back from being down by 27 points to win the game? πŸ’₯ I mean, Marcel Reed throwing for 439 yards and three touchdowns in the second half is just WOW! The comeback was epic! 😲

OMG 🀯 this is insane! I mean, like, can you believe that cop reacted like that? It's so not cool to scold someone who's already hurt and just trying to celebrate with his teammates πŸ˜”πŸ’”. I'm all about supporting Nyck Harbor right now! He deserves love and respect for showing up on the field despite his injury πŸ€•. And yaaas, LeBron is speaking truth πŸ’―. The Aggies' comeback was EVERYTHING πŸ™ŒπŸˆπŸ’₯ 28-0 in the second half? mind blown 😲. Texas A&M forever! πŸ’–

the police officer's behavior was really uncool πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ, especially since Harbor was still hurt and just wanted to get to the tunnel to celebrate with his teammates... i mean, who does that? it's not like he was trying to be a hero or anything. and yeah, NBA star LeBron James is always speaking up about important stuff, even if sometimes people might disagree with him πŸ€”. but this time, I think he's right - the officer's behavior did seem pretty corny (sorry, i know it's a sports thing!) and didn't exactly inspire confidence in the players or fans... anyway, kudos to Texas A&M for pulling off that crazy comeback win! 28-0 is wild πŸ’₯.

oh man this is crazy 🀯, i mean i know we all want to win and have a good time but scolding some kid on camera? that's just not cool πŸ˜’, like what was he even thinking? πŸ€” the officer should def be held accountable for his actions and i'm glad lebron spoke up about it πŸ’ͺ. the game itself though? wow what a comeback! 27 points down and still managed to pull off an epic win 🏈πŸ’₯ marcel reed's stats are insane too, that dude is on fire πŸ”₯

πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ Texas cop gets fired for being a jerk on the job. Can't believe he had to kick a hurt player in the tunnel 😷. The Aggies' coach should've been more aware of that one πŸ‘€. Game's drama aside, that comeback was INSANE πŸ”₯🏈!

Ugh, what's with cops and sports? πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ I mean, I get it, someone needs to keep the peace, but scolding a player on camera is just weird. And LeBron James is totally right, that guy was being super corny too πŸ˜‚. Like, who does that in front of thousands of people? It's not exactly like he was trying to win a championship or anything... I dunno, maybe I'm just being insensitive, but it seems like the officer was way out of line.

Anyway, can we talk about the game itself? πŸ€” Those Aggies made some crazy plays and staged an epic comeback! Marcel Reed is like a superhero for throwing for 439 yards in one game πŸ¦Έβ€β™‚οΈ. And I love how the Gamecocks didn't give up after Harbor got hurt... they really showed heart.

It's not every day you see a 27-point deficit turned into a 31-30 win, so that was pretty wild ⚑️. College football is all about comebacks and surprises, and this game delivered in spades! πŸ‘
