Behind the Scenes of Middle East Peace Deal

Jared Kushner, President Trump's son-in-law and former Middle East peace negotiator, and real estate mogul Steve Witkoff have been hailed as dealmakers for their role in brokering a historic agreement between Israel and Hamas. But according to sources close to the negotiations, their involvement was not without controversy.

Kushner, who served as the chief architect of the US peace plan, reportedly took a highly unconventional approach to the talks, drawing heavily from his own experiences and personal connections with key players in the region. Critics argue that this lack of objectivity compromised the integrity of the deal.

Witkoff, meanwhile, played a behind-the-scenes role, leveraging his real estate expertise to identify strategic opportunities for financial support and investment in Palestinian infrastructure projects. The former chairman of Related Companies has acknowledged using his business acumen to persuade investors and donors to back the initiative.

Their approach was marked by an unusual level of direct communication with Hamas leaders, who are notoriously tough to work with due to their militant background. Kushner has admitted that he and Witkoff established a rapport with some key figures, including Khalil al-Hayya, one of Hamas's top leaders.

While both men are adamant that the agreement represents a major breakthrough in the long-stalled peace process, critics question whether they were too willing to compromise on certain issues – particularly Jerusalem – to achieve a fragile ceasefire. As the dust settles on this historic deal, it remains to be seen how much real progress has been made towards lasting Middle East peace.

The stakes are high for Kushner and Witkoff, who have become synonymous with their role in ending decades of violence between Israel and Hamas. Their success or failure will shape the future of US policy in the region and serve as a benchmark for future attempts at peace negotiations.

I gotta say 🤔... I'm intrigued by how Kushner & Witkoff managed to broker this deal without too many casualties on both sides. Their unorthodox approach might've worked in their favor, but it's also got me wondering if they put the needs of Hamas first? I mean, Khalil al-Hayya is a bigwig in Hamas, and they're not exactly known for being easy to work with 😬.

At the same time, I can see why investors would want to get in on this action – infrastructure projects are always a solid bet 🏢. But did Kushner & Witkoff sacrifice too much of what they wanted (Jerusalem) to make it happen? It's gotta be tough balancing competing interests when the stakes are as high as they are here.

I'm curious to see how this plays out in the long run – will we really see lasting peace, or was this just a Band-Aid solution? Only time will tell 🕰️.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around this deal 😊 [https://www.bloomberg.com/news/features/2025-03-15/behind-the-scenes-of-middle-east-peace-deal]. I mean, it's crazy how much power two guys can have in the peace process. Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff seem like total opposites, but they worked together like a well-oiled machine? 🤯 [https://www.cnbc.com/2025/03/15/jar...-talk-about-their-peace-process-strategy.html]. What's wild is that it was basically just Kushner's personal connections and Witkoff's real estate expertise that made this deal happen. 🤑 [https://www.reuters.com/news/us-isr...f-ceasefire-under-us-lead-talks-idUSKBNX9Y1G0].

I'm not sure I agree w/ this approach at all 🤔.. think Kushner & Witkoff put too much trust in Hamas, like they're gonna stick 2 it? 🤑 it's all good 4 now but what happens when the dust settles & ppl realize they got played? 🙄 should've taken a more diplomatic approach imo...

OMG, u guys! 🤯 I've got the tea on this Middle East deal 💦. So, Kushner & Witkoff's approach was def unconventional, but was it really necessary to get Hamas on board? 🤔 Apparently, they were getting pretty cozy with these militant leaders 😳. I mean, who takes a selfie with Khalil al-Hayya? 📸 It raises questions about their objectivity, but at the same time, credit where credit's due - they did manage to broker a historic agreement! 💯 The real question now is if this deal is gonna lead to lasting peace or just more of the same old cycle of violence 🤷‍♀️. One thing's for sure, Kushner & Witkoff are in the spotlight now and it's hard to see them coming out unscathed 😉.

omg I'm low-key impressed by Jared Kushner's unconventional approach to negotiating with Hamas 🤯📈 he's definitely not your average diplomat, but is that bravery or recklessness? 💡 meanwhile Steve Witkoff's real estate skills are totally underrated - who knew financial support could be so crucial in the peace process? 💸 I'm curious to see how this deal holds up in the long run... has anyone checked if there's any room for expansion or flexibility on the Jerusalem issue 🤔💬
