Jess Rowe and Miriam Payne finally broke through the seemingly endless expanse of Pacific Ocean, their tiny rowboat, Velocity, skimming against the shore of Cairns Yacht Club at 6:42pm yesterday. The relief was palpable as the British duo, who had spent five-and-a-half months battling the unforgiving sea and its relentless fury, stepped onto dry land for the first time in over 8,000 nautical miles.

The final hours were brutal, with a gusting 20-knot wind threatening to send them off course. The pair's resolve was tested as they clung to their oars, battered by waves that reached heights of up to nine metres and navigated through raging storms that silenced all electronics. Their tiny vessel, powered solely by a less-than-reliable solar system and an onboard growing unit for micro-greens, relied on 400kg of mostly freeze-dried food for sustenance.

As they traversed the world's largest ocean, Jess Rowe and Miriam Payne became a "ghost ship," almost invisible to other vessels. Their only navigation equipment was occasionally functioning, leaving them reliant on celestial bodies to chart their course. The duo also endured close encounters with whales and suffered a range of mechanical failures, including a rudder failure that derailed an initial attempt in April.

Despite these setbacks, the pair persevered, averaging 50 nautical miles a day as they rowed in tandem during the day and one person alone at night while their crewmate slept. They documented their journey on social media, where fans eagerly followed their progress and offered words of encouragement.

The challenges were not limited to the physical toll of the journey. The pair also faced psychological strain, with periods of isolation and confinement taking a mental toll. Payne, from a landlocked part of Yorkshire, had not been at sea until she rowed the Atlantic solo in 2022 in a record time, while Rowe hails from Hampshire.

The outcome of their grueling odyssey was made all the more remarkable by their achievement as an all-female and youngest pair to row across the Pacific Ocean, non-stop and unsupported. Their accomplishment has raised over £86,000 (A$179,000) for the Outward Bound Trust, a charity that supports adventure training and personal development programs.

As they stood on dry land for the first time in months, Jess Rowe gazed out at their exhausted but triumphant crewmate Miriam Payne. "Those final few hours were brutal," Rowe said, her voice laced with emotion. "We honestly thought we weren't going to make it. To finally be here, after talking about it for so long, just feels incredible." When asked how they managed to keep rowing in the face of adversity, Payne replied, "Our power was dropping, the water-maker pipes burst... but we kept going. It was really great to have Jess as a teammate."

As they basked in the glow of their historic achievement, Rowe reflected on the experience: "We had such a good time together... We're already excited to plan new adventures together." And with that, the incredible journey of Jess and Miriam came to an end, leaving behind a trail of broken records and memories etched forever.

OMG I'm literally crying happy tears over here!!! 🤩 Can you even believe these two girls did this?! 8k nautical miles in a tiny rowboat? Like what?! 😍 And the fact that they didn't give up when things got tough is just incredible 💪 They're not only brave, but also super smart and resourceful. I mean, who else can say they've survived a rudder failure, close encounters with whales, and mental breakdowns all while rowing non-stop? 🤯 The fact that they raised so much money for charity too is just amazing. These two are total heroes in my eyes 💕

Wow 🤯🌊 8,000 nautical miles is insane, those two are total legends for completing this journey without any major disasters 😅. I bet the isolation was tough on them, especially Payne from Yorkshire who's never been at sea before... that's some mental toughness right there 💪

lol what a relief for them!! i was on edge thinking about how they managed to make it through all that crazy weather 🌪️ 5.5 months is ages, those guys are mental 💀 but seriously, their determination and teamwork paid off in the end. I love how they documented their journey online, kept us updated and inspired 😊 cant believe those whales got a closer look at them too 🐳 86k for charity is amazing, more power to them 👍

OMG you guys 🤯 they did it!!! I mean can u even imagine rowing 8,000 nautical miles non-stop? 😲 Like, they had no boat, just their own two oars and solar panels to power a tiny growing unit 🌱🚀. And the wind was so strong it would've sent them off course at times ⛈️. I feel like watching videos of them just makes me wanna throw up, but in a good way? 😂

But seriously, their resolve was tested in every possible way. They had to rely on each other, and their own mental strength, for so long. And it's not just the physical challenges they faced, but also the isolation and confinement which can be really tough mentally 🤯.

What I find really inspiring about this journey is that they didn't just achieve a record-breaking feat, but also raised over £86k (A$179k) for charity 🎉. It's amazing to see people coming together to support each other's passions and goals 💖.

And can we talk about how brave these two ladies are? 🤩 I mean, Payne had never been at sea before, except for her solo Atlantic row in 2022, which is already an incredible achievement in itself. And Rowe has a whole different story with her mechanical failures and whatnot 🤷‍♀️.

Anyway, I'm just so happy they made it to shore safely 💖. These two are absolute legends, and I can already tell that we'll be hearing more about them in the future 📚💪

They totally earned their rest after going through all that! I mean, 8,000 nautical miles is MIND-BLOWING 🤯... their mental toughness is the real MVP 💪... I love how they supported each other through thick & thin - that's what teamwork is all about 🌟... and can you imagine facing those storms alone? 😱... anyway, congrats to Jess & Miriam on breaking those records & raising so much for a great charity 💕

🎉 Can you even believe they did it?! Five-and-a-half months at sea is insane, but those two ladies just made it look easy! I mean, 8,000 nautical miles is a looong way to row, especially when you're battling 20-knot winds and massive waves. 🌊 I'm so impressed by their teamwork and determination - they were like a ghost ship, invisible to other vessels, but not to us, the fans who cheered them on from home! 🙌 Miriam's story is especially inspiring, having never been at sea before and rowing the Atlantic solo just last year. And Jess's comment about planning new adventures together? I'm already shipping these two for life 💕 Can't wait to see what they do next!

I'm kinda surprised they didn't use solar panels on their boat 🌞 those micro-greens are just a fancy way to stay alive in space... I mean the middle of nowhere 😂 but seriously, 8,000 nautical miles is no joke. Those girls were basically rowing to the edge of sanity every day 💪 it's amazing they didn't get lost or eaten by whales 🐳

I also think it's kinda cool that they went off the grid like that. Their electronics did fail them, but instead of giving up, they had to rely on their wits and each other to survive. And yeah, it's awesome that they broke records and raised money for a good cause 💸

But what really gets me is how hard it was on their mental health. I mean, being alone in the middle of nowhere can be mentally draining, and adding to that the physical exhaustion... it's like they were basically rowing through a war zone 😩 still, props to them for pushing through and making it happen! 🎉

😊🌊 I gotta say, those girls are total legends 🤩! 8,000 nautical miles in a rowboat without any fancy tech or support team is just mind-blowing 💥. I mean, can you even imagine being out there with nothing but the ocean and your own thoughts for months on end? 😲 It's crazy to think about how they kept each other going when things got tough 🤝. And let's be real, their Instagram feed was giving me life over here 📸! But what really gets me is that it wasn't just about them - they've inspired a ton of people and raised some serious cash for a good cause 💖. Can we talk about how amazing it is to see women supporting women in adventure sports? 👯‍♀️ I'm low-key jealous that I didn't have the courage to do something like this myself 😅.

can you believe those two ladies did it!! 🤯 they faced so much and still made it across 8,000 nautical miles without any aid 🙌 i mean, that rudder failure in april was a major setback, but they didn't give up 🤝 and their mental toughness is truly inspiring 😊 they averaged 50 nautical miles a day, rowing in sync, and also had to deal with the physical toll of being at sea for months 💪 plus, they raised over £86k for charity, which is amazing 🎉 i'm so glad they made it out alive (and triumphant) - it's a record that'll be hard to beat 🔥

🌊🏆 OMG, can you believe these two chicks rowed across the entire Pacific Ocean?! 💪 It's like they were on some kind of crazy adventure movie 🎥 They faced so many challenges - like 20knot winds, waves up to 9m tall 😱 and whales! 🐳 But they persevered, averaging only 50 nautical miles a day (imagine rowing that for months straight 😩)

And the best part? They raised over £86k for charity 👍 I'm so hyped for Jess & Miriam - they're total rockstars 💃🏻🌟 Can you imagine being on that tiny boat with almost no food or supplies 🤯? Mind. Blown.

Here's a rough map of their journey... 🗺️

🌊👏 I'm totally stoked for these two ladies! 5.5 months at sea is INSANE 🤯 I mean, can you even imagine being out there with no phone signal or GPS? 😱 They must've been so scared and exhausted, but they kept going 💪 And the fact that they made it without any major incidents is just incredible 🙌 I love how they supported each other through all the tough times too 👫 Jess and Miriam are total inspirations to anyone who's ever felt like giving up on a crazy dream 😊 Their achievement has really made a difference for charity too, which is amazing ❤️ Can't wait to see what new adventures these two take on next! 🌴🏝️

OMG I'm beyond stoked for these two! 🤩 They've just accomplished something truly epic – rowing across the Pacific Ocean in record time 💨. The fact that they had to deal with 20-knot winds, 9-meter waves, and mechanical failures is literally insane 😲. And to think they've been at sea for 5-and-a-half months without any support is just mind-blowing 🤯. I love how they documented their journey on social media – it's amazing to see the progress they made and how fans supported them along the way 👍. Now, let's talk about their mental health – it's super important to acknowledge that isolation can take a toll, especially when you're pushing yourself to the limit 🤕. But what I love most is that they're already planning new adventures together 💕. They're proof that with determination and teamwork, anything is possible 💪.

OMG I'M SO PUMPED FOR THESE GIRLS!!! 🚣‍♀️🌊 They literally rowed 8000 nautical miles non-stop without any support team or electronics!!! It's like they're superheroes in the ocean 😂! I mean can you even imagine being out there with no phone signal and just relying on the stars to navigate? MIND. BLOWN.

And the fact that they're all-female and youngest duo to do this is just INSPIRING 🙌. I love how they kept each other's spirits up even when things got tough. It's clear they have an amazing bond 💕. And can we talk about their solar-powered boat? GENIUS IDEA 🤓.

But what really gets me is how much they raised for charity - over £86k! That's just incredible 🙌. They're not only breaking records, but also giving back to the community.

Anyway, I'm beyond happy for these two ladies and can't wait to see what their next adventure brings 🎉👏

OMG 🤯, can you believe they finally made it?! 😂 I mean, five-and-a-half months at sea is INSANE! 💥 8,000 nautical miles is like, whoa... their tiny rowboat, Velocity, was literally the only thing keeping them alive out there 🌊. And those final hours were WILD 🌪️, with that gusting wind threatening to send them off course... I'm just glad they made it through 💪.

I'm also so impressed by their teamwork and determination 💕. Rowing in tandem during the day and one person alone at night was no easy feat, especially considering they had to rely on celestial bodies for navigation 🌠. And let's not forget about the psychological strain... I can only imagine how tough it must've been to be isolated and confined for so long 😓.

But what really gets me is that they broke records left and right 🏆. I mean, an all-female and youngest pair to row across the Pacific Ocean non-stop and unsupported? That's HUGE 💥! And their accomplishment has raised over £86,000 (A$179,000) for a great charity... that's just amazing 💖.

I'm so excited to hear about their next adventure 🤔. Let's get them planning some new thrills ASAP! 😄
