Top union accuses Texas of targeting teachers over Charlie Kirk posts

omg u wont believe this lol!!! so like texas american federation of teachers is suing the state over these crazy investigations into teachers who posted some stuff about charlie kirk online after he got killed... and im all for their side tbh! they r saying it s unconstitutional cuz its a sweepin crackdown on free speech & that sucks because those teachers are just tryna express themselves online & not hurt anyone. i feel 4 them 🤷‍♀️ u gotta love the 1st amendmtn right? anyway, like literally hundreds of complaints got dismissed or found unsubstantiated but they still had to do all these investigations which is super unfair... and now they r asking for a court ruling that it s unconstitutional & a stop to all these probes 🤞 fingers crossed they win cuz thats what we need more of - teachers gettin punished 4 exercising their rights

I'm low-key concerned about this whole situation 🤔. It sounds like some teachers are being unfairly targeted for exercising their free speech rights online 🚫. I mean, if they're not disrupting school operations or using work accounts, why should they be penalized just because of what others think? 😕 Morath's directive seems like a bunch of overreach to me - shouldn't educators be able to express themselves freely without fear of retribution? 💬 And 350 complaints?! That's a lot of people getting caught up in this drama 🤯. I hope the court rules in favor of the teachers and sets some boundaries around what's acceptable online 🙏.

Ugh, this is getting out of hand 🤯! I mean, come on, how many times can we tell our leaders to chill with the overreach? These teachers were just expressing their opinions on social media from their personal accounts, no work-related business whatsoever 🙄. And now they're being dragged through the mud and facing termination for it? That's not free speech, that's basic human rights 🤷‍♀️.

And what really gets me is that the education agency is all like "we need to investigate" because of some conservative activist getting killed 🤔. It's so unfair to penalize educators just for exercising their First Amendment rights. I mean, shouldn't we be supporting our teachers' ability to speak freely and express themselves? 🤷‍♂️

This lawsuit is a step in the right direction, though 👍. We need some accountability from our education agency to clarify that these kinds of investigations are unconstitutional. And it's also about time someone told Morath to knock it off with the "reprehensible and inappropriate" remarks 🙄. It's just not okay to stifle free speech like this.

I'm totally with the teachers here 👍. I mean, come on, they're just sharing their thoughts online outside of work hours and on personal accounts. It's not like they're disrupting class or affecting anyone in the classroom 🙅‍♂️. And to be honest, it sounds like Morath is trying to stifle free speech in schools, which is a huge no-no 🚫. I think the union is right to challenge this, and if a court ruling comes out saying that this investigation policy is unconstitutional, it's about time! 🤝

🚨 bad news alert! 🚨 just found out a bunch of teachers in Texas are being investigated for their social media posts about a guy who got killed in September... like, what's next? are we gonna start policing people's personal accounts too? 🤯 anyway, the teachers union is suing the state and it's kinda reasonable i guess. i mean, shouldn't they be allowed to express themselves without fear of getting fired or disciplined for it? the whole thing just seems super unfair and unnecessary...

ummm I don't get why they're making such a big deal about this... like isn't social media just for personal stuff? 🤔 isn't it up to each individual teacher if they wanna post something about Charlie Kirk or whatever? 🙄 and why are they trying to stop the investigations now? 🕰️ can someone explain to me how this whole thing went down? 😅 also, I just saw a funny meme online that was like totally unrelated to this, and it made me think... 🤣
