This deployment feels like overkill to me, you know? 500 more troops on top of the 2,200 already here doesn't seem necessary... I get that it's a big deal when people get shot near the White House, but is this really the most effective way to keep everyone safe? I'm not saying we shouldn't have some kind of security presence, but do we need this many troops? Plus, with 900+ D.C. National Guard members already here and more on the way... it's just gonna be a big ol' armed camp in the middle of the city... I'm curious to see how the courts rule out on this, though - if it is deemed illegal, that's one thing, but if it's all good to go, then I guess we'll just have to deal with it .

so u think trump is trying to make DC safer but like what about the fact that we gotta have more military presence in our own country? it's not exactly reassuring when u see 2,200 troops already there and then another 500 more. like, are they just gonna keep piling up till someone says no more? meanwhile dc ag is saying the deployment is illegal but i guess that's a whole other can of worms i dunno what to think tbh...seems like trump's making decisions without really thinking about the long-term effects...like, how's this gonna affect the rest of the country?
man this is crazy 500 more troops?! it feels like the whole city is under lockdown now i get what they're trying to do tho, safety first right? but at the same time, i'm worried about the extra security measures and how that's gonna affect us civilians especially with some officials saying this deployment might be illegal what's going on here?
i feel bad for the two service members who got shot though one dead, one hurt i hope they recover from their injuries soon
