Trump celebrating Thanksgiving at Mar-a-Lago

President Trump Celebrates Thanksgiving with Family Amid Ongoing Threat

In a stark contrast to the somber mood that followed a shooting incident near the White House, President Donald Trump spent the Thanksgiving holiday at his Florida estate Mar-a-Lago with wife Melania. On Wednesday night, just hours before leaving for his annual Thanksgiving celebration, two members of the West Virginia National Guard were shot in the line of duty.

Army Spc. Sarah Beckstrom, 20, and Army Staff Sgt. Andrew Wolfe, 24, both died from their injuries on Thursday evening. Trump confirmed that Beckstrom had succumbed to her wounds, while Wolfe is currently fighting for his life.

The suspect behind the shooting, Rahmanullah Lakanwal, an Afghan national who was paroled into the US in September 2021 under a Biden-era program, has been identified as the perpetrator. Authorities claim that he worked with the CIA in Afghanistan and had driven from Washington state to carry out the attack.

Trump weighed in on the incident, labeling it "an act of evil, an act of hatred, and an act of terror" during a video address posted on social media. He vowed to re-examine every alien who has entered the US under the Biden-era program from Afghanistan, stating that the country cannot tolerate such risks.

Earlier Thursday, U.S. Attorney for D.C. Jeanine Pirro reported that Wolfe was in critical condition after undergoing surgery. A White House official revealed that Trump spoke with Beckstrom's parents on Thursday night.

In a bizarre pivot during his address, Trump shifted focus to discussing Somali immigrants in Minnesota, suggesting that the US cannot tolerate any threat to national security. The president has been under fire for his handling of domestic and foreign policy issues since taking office.

As the nation grappled with the aftermath of the shooting incident, President Trump was seen as celebrating Thanksgiving with his family at Mar-a-Lago, a stark contrast to the somber mood that followed the news of two brave members of the National Guard losing their lives.

Wow 😱, can't believe what's happening in the US right now. Two young soldiers lost their lives for doing their job, and the president is still going on about aliens πŸš€. It's like he's more concerned about national security threats from Somali immigrants than actual terrorism ⚠️. And now he's making it sound like he's going to revoke visas for all Afghan nationals who came in under the Biden program? That's not how you handle terrorism, that's just xenophobia 🀬. Trump needs to get a grip and focus on what really matters πŸ’”.

Ugh, can't believe what's going on πŸ€•. Like, one minute you're trying to process this super scary attack and next thing you know, Trump is already making a weird comment about Somali immigrants... isn't that, like, super off topic? πŸ˜’ And honestly, I don't think it's fair to just blanket say that all Somali people are a threat to national security. Like, there are so many good people from Somalia doing amazing things here in the US πŸ™. It's just not right that Trump is using this as an excuse to stoke fear and anxiety again 🚫. Anyway, back to the main issue at hand - we need more support for our brave National Guardsmen like Sarah and Andrew πŸ’”

Ugh πŸ˜’ this is getting outta hand... like I get it, national security matters but can't he just calm down for one sec? πŸ™„ Two good people lost their lives and what does Trump do? Shifts topic to some Somali thing πŸ€” meanwhile the country's still reeling from the shock of what happened. Newsflash, Mr President: we're trying to process a tragedy here, not discuss immigration policies πŸ’”

I mean come on, this guy's still talking about national security threats when there are actual people dying over here? πŸ™„ I get it, he's trying to rally support and whatnot, but can't he just take a minute to process this? Two young soldiers lost their lives in the line of duty, and all we hear from him is how we need to be tough on immigrants. Like, no, we need to be tough on people who actually try to hurt us, you know? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ And by the way, didn't we already have a program in place for Afghan nationals? I guess it's not enough if it doesn't fit Trump's narrative. Sad, really... πŸ˜”

Ugh πŸ€• just watching this on socials and I'm literally shaking 😨 what's going on in the world?!?! Two young adults just lost their lives and we're still dealing with all this... Trump's response is super concerning, I don't know how he can shift from mourning to threatening Somali immigrants in 5 seconds 🀯 like, hello national security shouldn't be about fear-mongering. And what's up with his admin not doing anything about the guy who was paroled into the US and carried out this attack? πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ seems like a total mess right now πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ

idk wut r u talkin bout? President Trump celebratin Thanksgiving w/ fam while ther's 2 soldiers dyin 4 their country?? its just wild... somethin dont add up πŸ€” like, werent they talkin bout national security and all that? but noooo, Trampz all about the aliens πŸ›Έ and Somali immigrants 🌟 newsflash: we got more pressing issues 😬 like how r we gonna support our brave soldiers & their fams? πŸ™

πŸ€” Ugh, this is so messed up! I'm tryna celebrate Turkey Day w/ my fam but you got President Trump being all calm and collected like nothin's wrong πŸ™„ meanwhile, 2 US soldiers just lost their lives in a senseless shooting attack... it's not even about the politics, it's about people losin' their lives πŸ€•. And now he's talkin' 'bout somali immigrants? Like, what's next? Blamin' all immigrants for our problems? Not cool, Trump πŸ˜’.

πŸ˜• This is so messed up 🀯. I'm still trying to process what's going on. Two good people lose their lives and the President just focuses on alien immigration policies? πŸ™„ It feels like he's more worried about national security than actually doing something to prevent attacks on our own soil. And what's with the sudden shift in topic? It's like he's avoiding talking about the real issue at hand. πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ And to make matters worse, there are still people who support him despite all this... πŸ™ƒ

idk man... can't believe trumps reactin to this tragedy πŸ€”. one minute he's all like "act of evil" and "we gotta keep our country safe", but then he's talkin about somali immigrants in minnesota? what's the diff πŸ€‘. shouldn't we be focusin on the people who lost their lives instead of usin' it to push a political agenda? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ also, how is this guy even allowed to live here? he was paroled back into the country under a biden-era program and now he's out here tryna kill ppl 😱. can't we just have one honest minute without trump tryin to use somethin tragic for his own gain πŸ™„

Ugh, can't believe what's going on right now πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ... President Trump is literally rubbing it in our faces with his Thanksgiving celebration while two brave US soldiers are fighting for their lives πŸ’”. I mean, I get it, he's got to be there for his family and all that, but do we really need him to comment on this tragedy so soon? πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ It feels like he's trying to take attention away from the real victims here - the National Guard soldiers who lost their lives πŸ’€. And let's not even get started on his comments about Somali immigrants... what does that have to do with anything? πŸ˜’ The fact is, we need to be focusing on supporting our soldiers and their families, not spewing xenophobic rhetoric 🚫. Can't we just get some real news for once without all the politics?! πŸ“°πŸ’”

omg what's going on with this country 😩 president trump is literally still talking about some random shooting incident while ppl are grieving over 2 soldiers who lost their lives πŸ™ it feels like he's more concerned about aliens and somali immigrants than supporting the families of these brave men πŸ’” did he even watch the news or just went straight to his own little world 🀣 anyway can we pls focus on thanking our actual heroes instead of playing politics? πŸ™Œ

omg what's going on with this country 🀯?? one minute you got this super patriotic president making all these big speeches and the next we gotta hear about some national guard member getting shot to death 🚨 like can't they just focus on something else for once? anyway, i feel so bad for the victims and their families - it's just another day where america is reminded of how much we have to deal with here in this country πŸ˜”

.. this is just too much 🀯. I mean, you'd think that even on a day like Thanksgiving, which is supposed to be all about family and gratitude, the President would at least try to show some sensitivity towards the families of the two brave soldiers who lost their lives in the line of duty πŸ’”. Instead, he's out here talking about alien programs and national security threats πŸ›‘οΈ. I get it, terrorism is a big deal, but can't he just take a minute to acknowledge the senseless loss of life that happened just hours before? It feels like politics is winning over patriotism this time around πŸ˜”.

come on πŸ€” this is just great... President Trump is literally rubbing it in our faces right now πŸ™„ celebrating thanksgiving with his family while TWO US soldiers are fighting for their life over a guy who was paroled under some program πŸ“ sounds like a pretty clear case of priorities to me 🚫 and by the way where's the proof that this guy actually worked with the CIA? πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ we need sources, not just trump tweets πŸ˜’

πŸ€” can't believe trump's reaction... like, he's celebrating thanksgiving w/ his fam while there's a national guard member fighting for their life πŸ™ and two others are dead πŸ’€ from an attack that sounds super suspicious to me 🚨 especially with this guy being paroled under a biden-era program... what's going on here? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ why is he suddenly all about "national security" now? πŸ•΅οΈβ€β™‚οΈ seems like more politics than patriotism to me πŸ—³οΈ
