Former US President Donald Trump has pleaded not guilty to 34 felony counts in a New York court, sparking concerns over media coverage of his arraignment. The Manhattan District Attorney's office had requested that cameras be allowed into the courtroom during the proceedings.

In a letter to the judge, Trump's lawyers argued that allowing video and photography could heighten security concerns, particularly due to Secret Service-related issues. They claimed it would create a "circus-like atmosphere" at the arraignment and raise unique security concerns, making it inconsistent with Trump's presumption of innocence.

The prosecutors, however, pointed out that there is no categorical prohibition on cameras during an arraignment under existing New York statutes and case law. They noted that similar requests have been made in the past, such as for the 2021 arraignment of Trump Organization CFO Allen Weisselberg, where a limited number of still photographs were allowed.

The court will now need to decide whether to allow cameras into the courtroom or restrict media coverage. A decision on this matter is expected soon, potentially affecting the live broadcast of Trump's arraignment on Tuesday.

Ugh, can't believe this ๐Ÿ™„. I mean, what's next? Secret service agents in sunglasses just chillin' at a politician's hearing? It feels like a total circus ๐ŸŽช. And don't even get me started on the argument that cameras would create security concerns... come on, it's not like we've never seen live feeds of politicians before ๐Ÿ˜’. The prosecutors are right, there's no clear law against it, so why can't we just have some transparency? I'm so over this back-and-forth ๐Ÿคฏ. Can't we just let the public know what's going on in our government without all the drama and red tape? ๐Ÿ™„

This is getting out of hand lol ๐Ÿคฏ The man's a household name and we're still debating what info gets out about him? I get it, security concerns are valid but come on, it's not like he's gonna hop on stage and start waving to the paparazzi ๐Ÿคช. And can't they just let us see this go down without all the drama? It feels like a big show, not an actual court proceeding. Maybe we'll get some good footage for YouTube though, at least ๐Ÿ“น.

๐Ÿค” Can we just focus on the fact that 34 felony counts are a big deal and not turn it into a circus ๐ŸŽช? The whole thing feels like an over-the-top media spectacle, with both sides playing it for maximum drama. What's next, a live tweet from the judge's bench? ๐Ÿ˜‚ Anyway, hope the court gets to the bottom of this without turning Trump's arraignment into a circus ๐Ÿค

I'm kinda surprised they didn't just let cameras in, you know? It's not like Trump hasn't been used to all this attention before ๐Ÿ˜. I mean, if it was a normal case, you'd think "no cameras" would be the default, but since it is him... ๐Ÿค”. And what's up with his lawyers saying it'll create a circus-like atmosphere? Like, he's the one who's been making all that noise for years! ๐Ÿ™„

But I guess when you're dealing with high-profile cases like this, there are always gonna be some drama surrounding them. It's just how the media works, and how courts work. Hopefully they can get it sorted out soon so we can actually see what's going down ๐Ÿ‘€. Maybe they'll even let us in on the "crazy" details ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ!

Come on! Can't let him get away with this? It's all about control and drama for him. He's trying to use the whole "circus-like atmosphere" thing as an excuse to keep the cameras out, but honestly, it just looks like he's trying to hide something ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ. And what's with the Secret Service thing? That's just a weak attempt to justify his own paranoia. The prosecutors are right, there's no rule against cameras at an arraignment in NY โ€“ it's all about transparency and accountability! Let the people see their justice being served ๐Ÿ’ก

I'm so worried about my kids watching this on TV ๐Ÿคฏ. I mean, they're at that age where they still think everything is black and white, you know? The idea of cameras in a courtroom might be all over the news, but what if it does end up being allowed? Do we really want our little ones seeing their role model (or whatever he is to them) walking into court with all those cameras flashing ๐Ÿ“ธ. It's like, can't they just have a normal arraignment without all the drama and attention? And what about all the security concerns... my poor kid would be on edge if they saw all that! Can we just stick to kid-friendly news for once?! ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

omg can u believe what's going down in nyc?! trump's lawyers trying to shut down the cameras like they're a bunch of party poopers lol ๐Ÿ™„ i mean come on, it's not like it's gonna be a live feed from the moon or something... but seriously, why do they need to hide anything? the prosecutors said there are no rules against it, so who's right here? ๐Ÿค”

๐Ÿค” This whole situation is quite intriguing. It raises questions about the limits of freedom of the press and the rights of a defendant during an arraignment. The fact that cameras were not allowed in this case could be seen as a form of censorship, which may be perceived as biased towards Trump's defense team. On the other hand, one can argue that allowing cameras would compromise security measures and create an excessive media frenzy ๐Ÿ“บ. I'd love to see how the court navigates this complex issue and sets a precedent for future arraignments ๐Ÿ‘€.

omg can you even imagine a trial without anyone watching?! ๐Ÿคฏ i mean i get it trump's team wants to minimize security issues but cameras are literally allowed everywhere else in court its not like they're gonna let some random dude with a selfie stick walk into the courtroom ๐Ÿ“ธ๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™‚๏ธ this whole thing just smells like some shady stuff going down and i am SO here for the drama ๐Ÿ’โ€โ™€๏ธ

man this whole thing just feels like a PR stunt from trump - he thinks by saying "security concerns" he can control what gets covered in the media and hide any potential mishaps that might happen during the arraignment ๐Ÿคฅโ€โ™‚๏ธ

i'm not surprised his lawyers are pushing for it though, they know how much attention (or lack thereof) trump usually receives when things go right. cameras would just add to the drama of the whole thing anyway

it's actually kinda funny that his lawyers are worried about a "circus-like atmosphere" - hasn't he already made a career out of being a circus freak? ๐Ÿคก

I'm telling you, something fishy is going on here... ๐Ÿค” The prosecutors want cameras in, but Trump's team is saying no? That's not adding up, man. They're trying to cover something up. Maybe they don't want us to see what's really going down in that courtroom? ๐Ÿšซ I'm not buying it. And what about all these security concerns? Sounds like a load of BS to me... ๐Ÿ™„ The Secret Service is always worried about something, but this just feels like an excuse to keep the people in the dark. I'll be keeping a close eye on this situation, for sure. It's gonna get weird... ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

I'm curious how many people think it's a good idea for cameras to be allowed in the courtroom... ๐Ÿค” I mean, isn't that what we want - transparency? But at the same time, I get why Trump's lawyers are worried about security. Can you imagine if there were like, 100 paparazzi and reporters all trying to get a shot of him walking into court? ๐Ÿ“ธ It could be pretty chaotic.

On the other hand, isn't it fair that the public gets to see their former president being arraigned? Like, he's still a public figure, even if he's not currently in office. I think allowing cameras would actually add more credibility to the proceedings... what do you guys think? ๐Ÿ“บ Should cameras be allowed into the courtroom or should we restrict media coverage?

omg what a shock that trump's lawyers are being super considerate about security ๐Ÿ™„ guess they didn't want the world to see him getting led away in handcuffs ๐Ÿ˜‚ anyway, it's pretty standard protocol for these kinds of things - cameras go in if the DA requests them. makes sense that the prosecutors would push back on this one, btw... all that "circus-like atmosphere" talk does sound a bit dramatic ๐ŸŽช

I don't get why they can't just have some basic security measures in place ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ. Like, it's a public figure and people want to know what's going down. The prosecution says there's no rule against cameras, so I'm kinda curious to see what goes down on Tuesday ๐Ÿ’ฌ. I mean, Trump's lawyers are worried about some "circus-like atmosphere" ๐ŸŽช? Come on, he's the one who's guilty of something ๐Ÿ˜. It feels like they're just trying to avoid scrutiny, you know? Anyway, it'll be interesting to see how the court rules out this ๐Ÿค”. Maybe we'll get a live stream or something, fingers crossed ๐Ÿ‘!

๐Ÿค” i'm so done with trump's lawyers trying to hide something ๐Ÿšซ it feels like they're just trying to control the narrative and keep us from seeing what's really going down in that courtroom ๐Ÿ’ผ and honestly, who are these prosecutors supposed to be? defending trump's interests? come on ๐Ÿ™„ or can we just get a straight answer for once?! ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

๐Ÿค” so I'm all for transparency and whatnot but come on, 34 felony counts? that's a big deal! ๐Ÿค‘ I get why the lawyers want to limit the cameras, security concerns and all, but at the same time, it's like, isn't this supposed to be a public figure's arraignment? shouldn't he just want people watching? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ or maybe that's just me. anyway, hope they get some good footage for the news channels... ๐Ÿ“บ

idk why trump's lawyers are being so extra about no cameras in the courtroom ๐Ÿค”... like, what's the worst that could happen? a few paparazzi get kicked out? ๐Ÿ“ธ๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™‚๏ธ it's not like he's going to be on trial for something other than his own ego ๐Ÿ˜‚. and honestly, isn't this just another way to keep his antics under wraps? ๐Ÿคซ the people have a right to know what's going down in that courtroom! ๐Ÿ“บ๐Ÿ‘€

I mean, come on ๐Ÿค”... this whole thing feels like a classic case of optics vs reality. The media's all abuzz about cameras in the courtroom, but what's really going on here? Is it just a PR stunt to control the narrative and keep the public from getting too excited about Trump's troubles? I think so ๐Ÿ’โ€โ™‚๏ธ. And let's be real, if there's no specific reason to block cameras, what's the real motive? Is it to silence free speech or maintain an aura of mystery around the arraignment? It feels like a classic case of "the ends don't justify the means" ๐Ÿšซ... and I'm not buying it.
