Trump’s hot mic moment goes from bad to worse after son Eric’s comments

In a stunning display of self-dealing, President Trump has taken his hot mic moment from bad to worse by having his son Eric imply that the Indonesian president's interest in meeting with him was motivated by business interests.

During a private conversation caught on microphones during Trump's recent trip to the Middle East, the Indonesian leader asked to meet Eric Trump, only to be met with a response from the US President that sounded more like a father-son exchange than a state diplomatic encounter. "I'll have Eric call you," Trump said, calling his son a "good boy." The younger Trump took this exchange and ran with it, suggesting in comments to pro-Trump content creator Eric Bolling that the Indonesian leader had requested the meeting specifically because of interest in the Trump family's business ventures.

Trump's explanation has only added fuel to the fire, touting two major projects his family has in Indonesia - including a hotel in Bali set to break ground soon. He also claimed he never met the president before and implied that their connection was based on mutual respect for their business dealings. However, this is where things get murky.

The Indonesian foreign minister has denied any knowledge of what Subianto discussed with Trump about, saying they shared a close relationship and could discuss non-state affairs topics.

But this latest revelation raises more questions than answers about potential self-dealing by the former President. It also highlights how his son Eric's explanation might have been an attempt to deflect scrutiny from their family's business interests.

The contrast between Trump's claims and reality is striking, given the years of accusations made against Biden's family for similar perceived conflicts of interest. However, unlike many conservatives who peddled unfounded allegations about Biden's "crime family," there has been a deafening silence on this issue from Republican lawmakers like Jim Jordan and James Comer.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out in the coming days as more information becomes available and Trump faces renewed scrutiny for his actions.

🤔 this is getting weird, eric trump sounds like he's trying to spin a business deal out of thin air. the fact that joe biden got roasted for similar stuff but nobody's giving trump the same treatment is just suspicious 🤑

This is getting crazy! 😱 I mean, what's next? The whole family just going around talking business on the side? It's like they're trying to make themselves look shady. I'm surprised no one called out Eric Trump for being so obvious with his spin. And now the Indonesian foreign minister is denying any knowledge of what was discussed... that's a red flag right there! 🚨

🙄 This guy Eric Trump is straight up creepy! The way he took that convo and ran with it, making it all about the business... I mean, come on dude, not cool. And then your old man just goes along with it, like "oh yeah, my son's a great boy" 🤣. It's all very suspicious. And what's with the lack of accountability from the Reps? It's always someone else's problem when it comes to Trump's shenanigans. The fact that they're not speaking out is just... ugh, it's infuriating.

🤦‍♂️ ugh, I mean... it's just so cringeworthy when you think about it. Trump's whole thing was supposed to be "business meets diplomacy" but really it's just a dad trying to hook up with the Indonesian president and Eric's just running with it 🙄. And now they're trying to spin this as some kind of genius business move? give me a break. It's all just one big self-serving mess. The fact that no one on the Republican side is calling out Trump for his shoddy behavior is just weird. I mean, sure, Biden got roasted for similar stuff but at least he had the decency to have some actual family members who didn't just step in and muddy the waters like Eric did 🙅‍♂️.

🤔 This whole thing is super fishy... I mean, think about it - the Indonesian president requests a meeting with Eric Trump, but instead of getting some state diplomatic update or something, he's treated like Eric's little buddy 🤝. And then Eric's all like "oh, my dad said you wanted to meet me because of business interests"... that sounds way too convenient if you ask me 😒.

And let's not forget about the fact that Trump never even met the president before and now he's playing it like they're BFFs 🤓. I'm calling BS on this one... or should I say, "fake meeting" 😂. Something's definitely not adding up here...

OMG, this is soooo weird 🤯! Like, come on Eric Trump, that was not cool 😒. I mean, if you're going to defend your dad's shady dealings, at least have the decency to keep it classy 💁‍♀️. And what's with all these "business interests" nonsense? 🤑 Can't we just believe what he says without trying to spin it? 😒

And don't even get me started on Jim Jordan and James Comer - where are they now? 🤔 Like, if you're going to call out others for corruption, at least have the courage to speak up yourself 💪.

But honestly, this whole thing just reeks of self-dealing 🤑. Trump's always been about one thing: himself 🙄. And it's no wonder people are skeptical of his claims now 😒.

Can we just wait and see how this all plays out? I'm low-key invested in the drama right now 💁‍♀️...

😒 I'm still trying to wrap my head around this one... Trump's son Eric basically admitted that their meeting with the Indonesian president was about family business deals 🤯. And now, the former Prez is trying to spin it as some kinda diplomatic thing? Give me a break! 🚫 The fact that no Republican lawmakers have said anything about this is even more suspicious. It's like they're all waiting for someone else to make the same mistake so they can pounce on it later 😏. And what's with Trump claiming he never met the president before? 🤷‍♂️ Doesn't anyone fact-check his statements anymore? This whole thing just reeks of self-dealing and cronyism 🚫💸
