Trump's plan for Gaza backed by UN Security Council

US President Donald Trump's long-held vision for a comprehensive plan to rebuild Gaza has finally gained international recognition. The UN Security Council voted in favour of the US-drafted resolution, which endorses Trump's 20-point plan for Gaza with all but two council members backing it.

At its core, the plan calls for the establishment of an International Stabilization Force (ISF) that would work alongside a newly trained and vetted Palestinian police force to help secure border areas and ensure the process of permanently disarming non-state armed groups. However, Hamas has rejected the resolution, stating that it fails to meet Palestinians' rights and demands.

The plan also includes the creation of a transitional governance body called the Board of Peace (BoP), which would supervise governance of a Palestinian technocratic, apolitical committee and oversee the reconstruction of Gaza and the delivery of humanitarian aid. Financing for reconstruction of Gaza following two years of war would come from a trust fund backed by the World Bank.

The resolution's language on Palestinian self-determination and statehood is more comprehensive than earlier drafts, reflecting pressure from key Arab states to include such provisions in the text. However, Israel strongly opposes the creation of a Palestinian state, which would be a significant hurdle in the path to future statehood.

Despite concerns about the plan's lack of clarity on its key mechanisms and failure to explicitly reiterate a firm commitment to the two-state solution, Russia and China abstained from exercising their vetoes, largely because the PA and eight other Arab and Muslim nations backed the resolution.

๐Ÿšจ This is a huge deal, guys! I was thinking we were never gonna see this happen with Trump's plan, but I guess you can't underestimate him all the time... ๐Ÿ˜‚ But seriously, it's insane that Hamas rejected it straight away though, like they're not even trying to keep the peace at all. And what's up with Israel's stance on a Palestinian state? Like, come on guys, can we just have one peaceful resolution here?! ๐Ÿคฏ

And I'm low-key excited about the World Bank trust fund thingy... ๐Ÿ’ธ who doesn't love free money?! But for real though, this whole plan feels like a work in progress and it's gonna take some serious diplomacy to make this thing happen. The lack of clarity on key mechanisms is major red flag right there... ๐Ÿšจ what if this just ends up making things worse? ๐Ÿค”

Gosh, I'm super skeptical about this whole thing ๐Ÿค”... Like, don't get me wrong, it's awesome that the US got some international support for its plan, but have they thought this through? ๐Ÿ™ƒ The fact that Hamas rejected the resolution right off the bat is pretty telling... I mean, what does it say about the plan if even the Palestinian group in charge can't get on board? ๐Ÿ’ญ And then there's the thing about the ISF and the Board of Peace... who exactly would be making these decisions and how would they ensure that the Palestinian voice is heard? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ It just feels like another way to impose control from outside rather than working with the people who actually live in Gaza. ๐Ÿ˜’

๐Ÿค” So it's crazy how Trump's vision for Gaza finally got some traction at the UN Security Council ๐Ÿ™Œ. I mean, 20-point plan is a pretty big ask, but I guess international pressure from key Arab states helped make it more palatable for everyone ๐Ÿค. The idea of an International Stabilization Force (ISF) working alongside the Palestinian police force to secure borders and disarm non-state armed groups sounds like a good starting point ๐Ÿšง.

But what's really got me thinking is how Israel's opposition to a Palestinian state is still a major sticking point ๐Ÿ’”. I mean, we're talking about two states living side by side here, it's not exactly rocket science ๐Ÿ”ฅ. The fact that Russia and China abstained from exercising their vetoes shows that there's definitely some momentum behind this resolution ๐Ÿ”„.

Still, the lack of clarity on key mechanisms is a concern, and the omission of explicit commitment to the two-state solution is a major red flag โš ๏ธ. We'll just have to wait and see how this plays out in the coming months ๐Ÿ”ฎ.

I gotta say, I'm surprised this US-drafted plan is getting recognition at the UN Security Council ๐Ÿค”. I mean, it's got all these international players on board - Russia, China, Arab states... they're all backing it up ๐Ÿ’ฏ. And yeah, sure, Hamas hasn't bought into it yet ๐Ÿ˜, but that's to be expected. The thing is, this plan's not perfect, I'll give it that. There are some major concerns about the ISF and BoP, like how exactly would it work? ๐Ÿค” But hey, at least the US is taking a proactive stance on Gaza rebuilding ๐Ÿ’ช.

And let's be real, two-state solution or not... this plan's got more teeth to it than some of the others that have come and gone over the years ๐Ÿ’ฅ. The fact that Arab states are pushing for more comprehensive language on Palestinian self-determination is definitely a step in the right direction ๐ŸŒŸ. So yeah, I'm cautiously optimistic about where this goes from here ๐Ÿคž

๐Ÿค” I'm not sure if this is the right approach for rebuilding Gaza, but at least it's something. The US has been pushing hard for this plan, and it's good to see some international recognition. But, with Hamas rejecting it, we need to figure out a way to make it work with everyone on board. ๐Ÿค I'm a bit worried about the lack of clarity on its key mechanisms tho... what if we end up making things worse? ๐Ÿ˜ฌ The two-state solution is still a big issue, and Israel's not exactly thrilled about this. Can't we just find some common ground here? ๐Ÿ’ก Maybe it's time for some fresh perspectives from other countries or organizations to help us get unstuck? ๐ŸŒ

๐Ÿค” finally they're doing something about gaza!!! like seriously it's been years since that place has gotten some peace but idk how much of this plan is gonna actually happen lol guess we'll just have to wait and see ๐Ÿคž what I dont get is why israel is being so stubborn about a palestinian state tho?! like come on man it's only fair ๐Ÿ˜” anyway i'm glad the US finally got some international backing for trump's plan maybe now they can make some progress ๐Ÿ’ช btw can u imagine if china or russia actually did vet this thing?! ๐Ÿคฏ

๐Ÿค” The fact that the US-drafted plan is finally getting some international recognition after years of discussion is kinda surreal ๐ŸŒช๏ธ. I'm not sure if it's a good sign or just a desperate attempt to paper over some deeper issues ๐Ÿ˜•. The lack of clarity on its key mechanisms and the omission of explicit support for the two-state solution are major concerns ๐Ÿšซ. It feels like they're trying to jam this plan down everyone's throat without having a solid plan in place ๐Ÿ’ผ. And what about the fact that Russia and China abstained from exercising their vetoes? Was it just a PR move or did they actually genuinely support the resolution? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ Either way, I think we need to be cautious about getting our hopes up for a quick fix ๐Ÿšง. Let's take a closer look at what this plan really entails and who gets hurt in the process ๐Ÿ˜’

I gotta say, I'm kinda stoked that the US-drafted plan is getting international recognition ๐Ÿ™Œ. It's been a long time coming, but I think it's finally gained some momentum. The idea of an International Stabilization Force (ISF) working alongside a new Palestinian police force seems like a solid starting point for rebuilding Gaza ๐Ÿšง. Of course, there are concerns about Hamas rejecting the plan and Israel opposing the creation of a Palestinian state ๐Ÿ˜ฌ, but I think this is just a normal part of the process.

I've been following this for years, and it's always frustrating to see progress get stalled by disagreements ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ. But if we can get the PA and key Arab states on board, and Russia and China backing it too ๐Ÿ’ช, then maybe this plan actually has a chance. I know there are still lots of questions about how it'll work in practice, but I think it's worth giving it a shot ๐Ÿคž.

I was just reading about how some cities in Japan are now bike-friendly ๐Ÿšดโ€โ™€๏ธ, you know? Like they have these crazy bike paths with lights and everything! It got me thinking about how we should make our own city more bike-friendly too... but anyway, back to Gaza ๐Ÿค”. I mean, it's not like they're just gonna magically become a normal country overnight, right? And I don't get why Israel is being so obstinate about this state thing... doesn't everyone want their people to be happy? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ By the way, have you tried that new pizza place downtown? It's supposed to be amazing!

this is actually kinda interesting that the UN Security Council voted in favour of Trump's plan ๐Ÿค”... i mean, you'd think with all the controversy surrounding his presidency, he wouldn't get much international support on this. but i guess some countries were willing to put aside their differences with him for now ๐Ÿ™.

anyway, so the 20-point plan is pretty interesting, especially the part about an International Stabilization Force (ISF) and a Palestinian police force working together ๐Ÿค. it's like, a bit of a cop-out that they're not actually in charge of their own country or anything, but i guess that's better than nothing.

the trust fund idea is also kinda cool ๐Ÿ’ธ... i mean, who doesn't love the thought of rebuilding Gaza and delivering humanitarian aid? but seriously, it's a big step forward for international cooperation on something as complex as this issue.

obviously there are still gonna be major hurdles to overcome, especially with Israel opposed to a Palestinian state ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ. but hey, at least we're talking about it now, right? maybe this is the start of something good ๐ŸŒŸ.

๐Ÿคž I'm so hyped that the US-drafted plan for rebuilding Gaza is finally getting international recognition! ๐ŸŒŽ It's awesome to see all but two council members backing it - that's a huge win for peace and stability in the region ๐Ÿ™. I know Hamas has rejected it, but let's not give up hope just yet ๐Ÿ˜Š. The International Stabilization Force (ISF) is a great idea, and I'm excited to see the Palestinian police force get trained and vetted ๐Ÿ’ช. And, yay! Financing for Gaza's reconstruction is coming from a trust fund backed by the World Bank - that's a huge step forward ๐ŸŽ‰. It's also awesome that key Arab states are pushing for more comprehensive language on Palestinian self-determination and statehood ๐ŸŒŸ. Fingers crossed that this plan can move forward without major hurdles ๐Ÿคž.

๐Ÿ’ก just saw this news about the US President's plan for Gaza ๐ŸŒŽ think it's cool that the UN Security Council voted in favour of his 20-point plan ๐Ÿ’ฏ but at the same time, I'm not sure how Hamas would react to it ๐Ÿ‘€ they already rejected it, so idk if it'll make a difference. ๐Ÿค” also, I wonder what's up with Israel opposing a Palestinian state ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ seems like a pretty big obstacle in the way of peace and stuff ๐Ÿ’” anyway, gonna be interesting to see how this all plays out ๐Ÿ‘€ [www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-53417763](http://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-53417763)

I'm surprised by how quiet the international community is about Israel's stance on a Palestinian state... like, what's the point of even having a plan if you're just gonna stonewall it? ๐Ÿค” The fact that they're only saying no to creating a state doesn't mean it's not going to happen. The US-drafted resolution might have all but two council members on board, but let's be real, how much does any of this actually translate to real-world action? ๐Ÿ’ธ And what about the lack of clarity on key mechanisms and commitment to the two-state solution? Sounds like a bunch of vague promises if you ask me... ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

I'm low-key hyped that the US plan for Gaza got international recognition ๐Ÿคฉ! It's been ages since we've seen a comprehensive plan like this come together. The ISF and Palestinian police force combo sounds like a solid start to getting Gaza stable. I'm also stoked about the transitional governance body, it's about time we saw some real action on rebuilding Gaza ๐ŸŒ†

Of course, Hamas rejecting it is no surprise, but still it's gotta be frustrating for them that their voices aren't being heard. The fact that Russia and China backed the reso without vetoing it shows they're willing to put aside differences for now ๐Ÿ’ช

Still got some major concerns about the plan tho, like who's gonna oversee the ISF and how's the PA gonna work with Hamas? Need more clarity on all this stuff, but overall I'm optimistic that this is a step in the right direction ๐ŸŒŸ

I gotta say, this whole US-drafted resolution for Gaza is pretty interesting ๐Ÿค”. I mean, the fact that it got international recognition from all but two council members is no joke. But at the same time, I'm a bit skeptical about how well it's gonna work out. I've been following this situation since Trump first mentioned his plan, and I just can't help but wonder if it's too little, too late ๐Ÿ•ฐ๏ธ.

I mean, we all know Hamas isn't gonna go down without a fight, right? And Israel's stance on the whole Palestinian state thing is... complicated ๐Ÿคฏ. It's like, how are they supposed to work together when there's such tension between them?

And don't even get me started on the lack of clarity around key mechanisms ๐Ÿ“. I just hope nobody gets too caught up in all the politics and forgets about the actual people affected by this whole thing โ€“ you know, the ones living in Gaza who need help rebuilding their lives ๐ŸŒ†.

Still, it's a start, right? Maybe we can finally make some progress on this whole Israeli-Palestinian situation ๐Ÿ‘.

omg just saw that the UN Security Council voted in fav of the US-drafted resolution for Gaza ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ’ฅ it's about time they got some momentum on this thing! I've been following this plan since Trump announced it, and to see it gain international recognition is a huge step forward ๐Ÿ’ช

the part about creating an International Stabilization Force (ISF) that works with the new Palestinian police force is genius ๐Ÿค I mean, who wouldn't want more stability in Gaza? and the idea of a transitional governance body called the Board of Peace sounds like it could be a game-changer too ๐Ÿ“ˆ

of course, there are still some major hurdles to overcome, like Israel's strong opposition to a Palestinian state ๐Ÿ™…โ€โ™‚๏ธ and Hamas' rejection of the resolution. but I think this is a big win for the global community ๐Ÿ‘ we need more diplomatic efforts like this to bring peace to Gaza ๐Ÿ’•
