United plane clips tail of another aircraft at Chicago’s O’Hare airport

United Airlines faces a sobering reality after two of its aircraft came perilously close to colliding at O'Hare International Airport in Chicago on Friday. The incident, which occurred while Flight 2652 from Jackson Hole, Wyoming was making its way to the gate, resulted in no injuries but raised alarm bells about aviation safety.

According to United officials, a delay ensued after pilots reported that the tail of one plane had clipped the horizontal stabilizer of another aircraft, leaving it stationary. The severity of the collision is still unclear, with some passengers saying they felt little impact despite initial concerns.

Eyewitness Bill Marcus, who was on board Flight 2652, described being "shocked" by the close call, which only became apparent when pilots announced a delay to document the incident. "I didn't feel anything more until they separated the planes and there was some shuddering," he said to CBS News Chicago.

The incident has sparked renewed concerns about air travel safety, following recent crashes and near misses in US skies. The deadliest plane crash in decades occurred just last January at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport when an army helicopter collided with an airliner preparing to land. More recently, two Delta Air Lines regional jets came close to colliding at LaGuardia airport in New York in October, resulting in injuries.

With the aviation industry under intense scrutiny, United Airlines has issued a statement assuring passengers that there were no serious injuries or damage reported from the incident. However, as the airline navigates this challenging period, concerns about safety will likely continue to linger in the minds of many air travelers.

😟 I'm telling you, something fishy is going on here... Like, what if they didn't want people to know how close those planes actually came together? 🤔 What if the pilots just wanted an excuse for a delay? And what about that army helicopter crash in January? Wasn't it weirdly close to another plane too? 😱 And don't even get me started on Delta's near-miss at LaGuardia... this is like, aviation industry-wide issue or something. 🚨 I'm not saying United did anything wrong, but... have you noticed how they're trying to downplay the whole thing now that everyone's talking about it? 😒

omg what if they missed each other 🤯? like two planes flying side by side and not seeing each other till it's too late... can u imagine? anyway, glad no one got hurt but come on, how did this happen?! 🤦‍♂️ safety first right?! gotta have more checks in place. also, 2 other close calls recently with delta air lines regional jets... that's not cool 😬

Ugh 🙄 what's going on with these airlines?! I mean, I know accidents can happen but it's like they're just not paying attention anymore 😒. I was at O'Hare a few years ago and you could barely get through security without a line of 3-4 hours long, now it seems like the planes are the ones that need a break 🤦‍♀️. And don't even get me started on how outdated some of these aircraft look... I mean, come on! It's like they're still flying around in the Stone Age 🚀. Anyway, safety should always be the top priority and it seems like United is getting the message 😬. Can we just get some modern planes that don't have to worry about clipping each other's tail fins? 🤣

omg u guyz!! 😱 so i was watchin news and saw dat 2 planes from united airlines came so close to crashin at o'hare airport lol what a scary thought!!! 🤯 didnt no they had 2 clip wings tho, but glad nobody got hurt 🙏 but like seriously aviation safety is super important rn we cant keep havin these near misses & crashes 😩 like wut r they doin?!? maybe its time 4 them 2 review their safety protocols or sumthin idk lol

.. like I remember when flying was way more safe than this, you know? My dad used to fly commercial all the time and he never had a bad experience. Now it's like, every other week there's some new incident or near miss... 🤯♂️ It just feels like they're getting busier and busier up in the air. I don't blame them for being cautious though, safety should always be the top priority. I mean, have you seen those planes? They're huge! If something goes wrong, it could be catastrophic... 😬 My cousin had a friend who works at JFK airport and he said that pilots are getting more stressed out than ever because of all these close calls. It's just worrying to think about, ya know? 🤔

this is so sketchy lol 🤯 i mean what if they had really crashed or something? like 2 planes so close, it's crazy they were lucky nobody got hurt. and now they're saying there was no serious damage? come on who knows what happened behind the scenes? airlines always trying to spin things in their favor. anyway glad everyone is safe but gotta keep an eye out for those planes when they fly overhead 😬

🚨💥 so they're saying it was just a minor clip on the stabilizer and nothing major happened?! 🤔 I'm not buying it. This is like that time they told us the moon landing was real, but then we found out it was all faked 🌕. Something's gotta give here. What if this was some kinda test to see how well their emergency protocols work? Or maybe they wanted to distract us from something else... like a planned system failure or something? 🤯
