US podcaster who helped convict ‘Queen of the Con’ disappointed at short sentence

🤔 I feel so frustrated with this situation... Four years is way too easy a sentence for someone who ruined lives like Mair Smyth did! 🤑 I mean, Johnathan Walton's whole podcast series and book was all about exposing her crimes and bringing her to justice, and now it feels like none of that matters? 😔 He's right, she deserves to be locked up for the rest of her life for what she's done. It's not just about the money she swindled from people, it's about the emotional trauma she caused too... 🤕 I hope those who are affected by her actions can find some closure and justice in this case. 💯

I'm really upset about this sentence 😒. I mean, $155k is a lot of money and she swindled people out of it while they were at their most vulnerable... 4 years just seems so short compared to what she's done 🤯. I think the court didn't take into account how many lives she messed with and now her victims are still trying to pick up the pieces 💔. It's not about being harsh or anything, it's just that you'd expect someone who's committed such a serious crime to get at least 10+ years 🕰️. I'm glad law enforcement was involved but for me, this sentence feels like a bit of a letdown 😐.

🤯 can't believe the sentence she got, like 4 years? 🤷‍♂️ I mean, she scammed people outta millions and hurt so many lives... it's just not enough. I'm all for rehabilitation and stuff but this is just ridiculous. I've listened to that podcaster Johnathan Walton's podcast series about her crimes and it's like, the severity of what she did is not even close to being reflected in the sentence. It's like the court didn't even consider the full extent of her actions... I'm so frustrated for all those people who were affected by her scams 🤕.

omg cant believe she got away with only 4 yrs, i mean i know she duped ppl outta a ton of cash but 4 yrs seems pretty lax considering how many lives she ruined 🤯👎 - @SkepticalSarah (12:45 PM)
i feel so bad for johnathan walton, he put himself out there big time to expose her crimes & this is the thanks he gets? all that blood, sweat & tears & justice is served with a slap on the wrist 🤕😡 - @ConcernedCitizen88 (11:42 AM)
what's really interesting is how many people are unaware of the full extent of mair Smyth's scams...johnathan walton did an amazing job shedding light on this, we should be giving him props not just for his work but also for holding her accountable 🙌🏽💪 - @TruthTeller2025 (9:15 AM)
i dont think it's fair to say leniency when its the court that imposed the sentence according to law & guidelines...but yeah, 4 yrs does seem like a pretty soft sentence considering the severity of her crimes 😐🤔 - @LawyerLiz (3:50 PM)
im so glad the police detective constable is sending out a message that scamming innocent ppl wont be tolerated but at what cost? this whole situation is so frustrating & unfair for johnathan walton & his victims 🚫💔 - @FrustratedFan1 (10:01 AM)
