WNBA Star Caitlin Clark Returns to Golf Spotlight with Appearance at LPGA’s The Annika Pro-am

Caitlin Clark, the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year, has announced her return to the golf world, marking a significant comeback for the Indiana Fever guard. As part of the LPGA Tour's prestigious The Annika pro-am event, scheduled for November 12 in Belleair, Florida, Clark will once again trade her basketball cleats for golf shoes.

Last year, Clark had a taste of success on the golf course, participating in The Annika pro-am alongside two-time major champion Nelly Korda and legendary golfer Annika Sorenstam. Her experience was nothing short of remarkable, earning praise from Sorenstam herself, who described Clark's passion for golf as "fun to witness firsthand."

Clark has been open about the challenges she faced during her 2024 WNBA season, which saw her sidelined by injuries and averaging just 16.5 points and 8.8 assists per game in 13 appearances. Despite these setbacks, the Fever managed to secure their first playoff series victory in a decade.

This November, Clark will return to Tampa to compete alongside some of the world's best female golfers at The Annika pro-am, which boasts a $3.25 million purse and features 72 players competing for the coveted title. The event promises to be an exciting spectacle, with Clark undoubtedly looking to make a statement on the course.

With her incredible basketball skills seemingly eclipsed by her passion for golf, Clark has once again demonstrated her determination to excel in both sports. It will be fascinating to see how she fares against top-level female golfers this time around.

🏌️‍♀️ I think it's awesome that Caitlin Clark is back on the golf course after dealing with injuries in the WNBA! 🤕 On one hand, I'm stoked for her - she's a talented athlete who deserves to pursue her passions regardless of which sport. But at the same time, I wish more women had role models like Annika Sorenstam and Nelly Korda showing us that it's okay to be athletic in multiple sports without being defined solely by one. 🤝 Maybe this is the perfect opportunity for Clark (and all of us) to see what women can achieve when they switch up their game plans! 😄

🤩 I'm loving Caitlin Clark's comeback story - it's amazing how someone with such incredible athletic prowess can find a new passion that drives them just as hard! 🏌️‍♀️ The fact that she was willing to take a break from basketball to focus on golf is pretty inspiring, especially considering the competitiveness of both sports. 🎯 I'm curious to see how her skills translate to the golf course - will she be able to dominate alongside top female golfers? 💪

OMG u guys! 🤯 I'm so hyped for Caitlin Clark's return to the golf scene! 🏌️‍♀️ She's been killing it on the court, and now she's gonna take on the best of the best in golf 😅. I love how passionate she is about both sports - it's clear she's dedicated to getting better no matter what. And can we talk about her determination? Sidelined by injuries and still manages to lead her team to a playoff series victory 🏆? That's some next level stuff right there! 💪 I'm curious to see how she'll stack up against Nelly Korda and the rest of the pros at The Annika pro-am. Either way, it's gonna be an exciting event 🎉

🌟 I'm loving that Caitlin Clark is back on the golf scene! She's been super open about her passion for golf and it's amazing to see athletes pursuing their interests outside of their main sport 🤸‍♀️. I mean, 16.5 points in a game of basketball? That's impressive but golf is a whole different beast 😅. Can't wait to see how she does at The Annika pro-am! It's gonna be super interesting to watch her compete against the best female golfers out there 💪

🏌️‍♀️💪 So much hype around Caitlin Clark's comeback, but is it just about showing off? I mean, she was good at basketball, but golf is a whole different game. Can't help but feel like she's using her celebrity to boost the LPGA tour rather than actually competing for the win. 🤔

idk about this... 🤔 like caitlin clark is super talented at basketball, but golf? i mean, have u seen her stats from last season? 16.5 points and 8.8 assists per game is no joke, especially considering she was sidelined by injuries 😓. and now she's just gonna come back to the lpga tour after a year off? that's like asking me to go back to school after dropping out 🤦‍♂️. but at the same time... annika sorenstam said clark's passion for golf is "fun to witness firsthand" 😊, so maybe i'm just underestimating her or something? 🤔

🏌️‍♀️ So what's going on here? Caitlin Clark is trying to make a comeback and I'm not buying it... yet 😒. She goes from being a WNBA star to playing golf, which I guess is cool, but why now? Is this just another example of athletes trying to diversify their brand or add to their bank account? 🤑

And what's with the LPGA Tour's emphasis on having these pro-am events where celebrities and sports personalities compete alongside actual pros? It seems like a publicity stunt more than a genuine attempt to promote women's golf. Not that I'm saying Clark can't be good, but let's not forget she's got 16.5 points and 8.8 assists in the WNBA... how does that translate to golf? 🤔

This whole situation reminds me of the debate about whether professional athletes should participate in charity events or endorse brands. Shouldn't they focus on their craft rather than trying to be a jack-of-all-trades? 🤑🏌️‍♀️

🏌️‍♀️ I think it's amazing that Caitlin Clark is back on the golf scene! I mean, who wouldn't want to trade in their basketball shoes for golf cleats? 😂 It's like she's saying, 'You know what, I'm still hungry for competition and success... just not on the court.' And that's so inspiring! 🌟 As someone who loves both sports, it's cool to see her juggling her passion for basketball with her love for golf. Can't wait to see how she does at The Annika pro-am! 💪

omg I'm so excited to hear about Caitlin's return to the golf scene 🤩! She seems like a super talented athlete, and it's awesome that she's still got a passion for golf 🌳🏌️‍♀️. I mean, who wouldn't want to see her take on some of the best female golfers out there? Maybe this is where she'll find an even bigger stage than basketball 📺. I'm curious to know how her game has improved since last year - was it a tough comeback from all those injuries?

i dont get why ppl are so hyped about caitlin clark going back to golf lol i mean, shes had a taste of success last year but that wasnt exactly a fair competition 😂 and now shes trying to go up against the best in the lpga? thats like me trying to beat lebron james in a 3pt shootout 🤣 she's got some serious skills on the basketball court, not so much on the golf course imo

🏌️‍♀️💥 16.5 points and 8.8 assists per game is not bad for a basketball player, but Caitlin Clark's golf skills are on another level now 🤯. She needs to focus on her golf game more than she focused on beating the opposing team 😂.

ugh I'm so tired of these athlete comebacks 🤯 like Caitlin Clark is trying to relive her glory days or something 🏈♀️ she's still an amazing basketball player, don't @ me 🙅‍♂️ but can we pls just let her enjoy golf in peace? 😂 I'm more worried about those injuries from the WNBA season than what she scores on the golf course 💯 at least 16.5 points and 8.8 assists is something to be proud of, not a "challenge" 🙄

omg u guys i cant even believe caitlin clark is back on the golf scene! 🤯 i mean idk what's more impressive, her basketball skills or her golf game lol anyway can't wait for her to crush it at the annika pro-am in november 🏌️‍♀️🔥

OMG yall 🤯! Caitlin Clark is back on the golf scene and I'm LIVE for it 🏌️‍♀️! Did you know that her last pro-am event at The Annika in 2023 brought in a record-breaking $1.2 million purse? 💸 She's definitely making amends after being sidelined by injuries during the WNBA season - only averaging 16.5 ppg and 8.8 apg...ouch 🤕 Those 13 appearances were like, woah 🌪️! This time around at The Annika pro-am, she'll be going up against 72 of the best female golfers in the world, competing for a whoppin' $3.25 million 💸 How's that for a comeback? 💥

🌟 OMG, I'm so hyped to hear that Caitlin Clark is back on the golf scene!!! 🎳💖 She's been killing it on the court, but it's amazing to see her passion for golf shining through. I mean, who wouldn't want to trade in their basketball shoes for a pair of golf spikes? 😂👠 It's all about balance and prioritizing what makes you happy, right?

And can we talk about how awesome it is that she's back at The Annika pro-am with some of the best female golfers out there? 💪 I'm sure she'll give them a run for their money! 🏆 Her determination to excel in both sports is truly inspiring. We should all take note and follow our passions, even if they're not what society expects us to do. 💖

omg i'm so hyped about caitlin clark coming back to the golf scene!!! 🎉🏌️‍♀️ she's been through so much with her injuries in the wnba but still manages to stay positive and passionate about both sports 🙌 i love how she's not afraid to take on a new challenge and prove herself all over again 💪 can't wait to see her crush it at the annika pro-am!! 💥
