Iran medics describe hospitals overwhelmed with dead and injured protesters

Staff at several hospitals in Iran reported being overwhelmed with dead or injured protesters as the country grappled with the aftermath of anti-government protests. The medics described "very horrible scenes" and said they were struggling to cope with the influx of wounded people.

The number of protesters killed or injured was estimated to be in the hundreds, with many more detained. The authorities asked families of dead individuals for large sums of money to allow them to be buried, highlighting the scale of the crisis.

A medic at a hospital in Tehran said that emergency services were overwhelmed and staff did not have time to perform CPR on patients who had been shot. The medic described direct shots to the heads of young people as well as gunshot wounds from live ammunition and pellets.

In other parts of the country, hospitals were also struggling to cope with the number of injured protesters. A doctor in a city in central Iran said that many of those injured had been hit in the eyes, while another doctor reported receiving large numbers of wounded people during Friday's unrest.

The Iranian government has blamed the US for turning peaceful protests into violent acts and has called on security forces to take decisive action against "armed vandals". However, EU leaders have condemned the use of force and urged protesters' right to freedom of expression and assembly.

omg what's goin on in iran 😱 i cant even imagine bein a medic there rn u got any idear how they r managin all dese wounded ppl?? the way dey r treatin dem familez of da dead is so messed up too 🀯 dey want dat much $$$ to jus bury sum1?? its like, u got 2 do wat's right 4 ur countr πŸ™ i hope everythin gets sorted out soon n da innocent ppl get da healin dey deserve πŸ’•πŸ’–

πŸš‘πŸ’” this is just heartbreaking what's happening in Iran it feels like they're trying to shut down any kind of dissent but I think we should be supporting the people who are fighting for change, not condemning them 🀝 maybe the EU could do more to pressure the Iranian government into respecting human rights and letting the people decide their own future πŸ’₯

OMG this is so sad πŸ€•πŸ’”... I can only imagine how tough it must be for those medics & doctors at hospitals in Iran. They're doing such a brave job under such extreme conditions πŸ’–. It's heartbreaking that the families are being asked to pay huge sums of money just to give their loved ones a proper burial 😱. We need to send all our love & support to the people of Iran right now ❀️. The fact that some doctors are even having trouble doing CPR due to the high volume of patients is just too much 🀯. I hope the situation gets better soon 🌞. And can we please condemn violence in any form? It's not the answer, no matter what anyone says 😑.

Blimey, this is just so sad πŸ€•... I mean, can you believe what's happening in Iran? These poor medics are being overwhelmed with all these injured people and they're struggling to cope. It's like they're drowning in a sea of blood and tears πŸ’”. And the scale of it all is just mind-blowing - hundreds of people dead or injured and families having to pay a fortune to bury their loved ones? It's just heartbreaking 😭.

And what really gets me is the way the authorities are responding to this crisis... blaming the US for everything? That's just not fair πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. And the EU leaders saying that the protesters' right to freedom of expression and assembly should be respected? Now that's what I call leadership πŸ‘Š.

It's like, back in my day we used to think that hospitals were there to help people, not to fight wars 😩. I just hope that somehow, someway, this crisis can be resolved without too much more bloodshed... our thoughts are with the people of Iran 🀞

OMG u gotta wonder wat's goin on in Iran rn 🀯 they got protests everywhere & hospitals r gettin overwhelmed with all da dead or injured ppl 😨 it's like dey don't know how 2 handle dis situation. dey're askin familez of dem who died 4 cash 2 bury dem, dat's just sick πŸ’€. medics say dey couldn't even do CPR on ppl cuz dey were gettin shot πŸš‘πŸ˜± & da gov is blaming it on US? like how can u blame a whole country 4 one bad day? πŸ€” EU leaders are all like "hold up, dat's not cool" πŸ‘Š

πŸš‘πŸ’” just saw this news about hospitals in Iran bein overwhelmed with protesters who got hurt or worse 🀯 i dont no how anyone can handle seein so many dead people on a daily basis its like...what r we even doin here? πŸ’” i heard the medics say they had 2 deal wit all these people but didnt have time 2 give CPR 2 ppl who got shot point blank πŸ€• and the gov is actin like its no big deal just askin fams 4 money 2 bury thier loved ones πŸ€‘ meanwhile eu folks r talkin bout freedom of expres & assembly like thats even a thing right now πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

πŸ€• This is such a heartbreaking situation in Iran... it's like, I can only imagine being a medic trying to deal with all these wounded people, let alone having to say goodbye to someone who's lost their life... πŸš‘ The scale of this crisis is just mind-boggling - hundreds of people killed or injured, and the authorities are still asking families for money to bury them? Like, what kind of inhumane system is that? 🀯

And these young people, being shot in the head... it's just heartbreaking... 😭 I think the EU leaders are right on this one - condemning the use of force and urging freedom of expression and assembly is exactly the kind of response we need. We can't just let governments crack down on peaceful protests without some major consequences... 🀝

I'm not surprised at all that things are super messed up in Iran rn... I mean, it's like they just wanted an excuse to crack down on people and now innocent lives are being lost πŸ˜”. And those medics gotta deal with the aftermath? No thanks, my heart goes out to them πŸ€•. The fact that families gotta pay massive amounts of money to bury their loved ones is just straight-up horrific πŸ’€. It's like the government is more concerned with lining their pockets than actually helping people in need. And don't even get me started on the US getting blamed for everything... what a convenient cop-out πŸ™„. The EU should really do something to stop this bloodshed, but I guess that's just wishful thinking πŸ˜”.

Man, this is just so heartbreaking πŸ˜”. I can only imagine how tough it must be for those medics who had to deal with all that violence & chaos. It's like, you gotta feel bad for them, you know? They're just doing their job, trying to help people, but they got thrown into this nightmare situation. And the worst part is, the authorities are asking families for money to bury their loved ones... it's just so sad 😒.

I don't think we should be blaming anyone for what happened, though 🀝. I mean, protests are meant to be peaceful, but sometimes things can get out of hand. But the EU's right in saying that people have the right to express themselves & assemble peacefully. We gotta support those who are fighting for change πŸ’ͺ.

And on a more positive note, I guess this is a wake-up call for everyone involved... it's like, let's all try to be more understanding & compassionate towards each other 🀝. We can't control everything, but we can definitely try to make the world a better place, one small step at a time πŸ’•.

man this is super disturbing πŸ€• hospital staff are dealing with so much trauma it's heartbreaking. i'm watching this unfold like a scene from a movie, but it's real life for people in iran. where did things go wrong? why was it necessary to call families of protesters for money to bury their loved ones? πŸ’Έ it feels like the system is broken and nobody is listening. EU leaders are right though - freedom of expression and assembly should be protected, not taken away from people. we need to stand with those who are fighting for their rights 🌟

πŸ’” it's heartbreaking to see medics struggling to cope with the aftermath of anti-government protests in Iran. 300+ people estimated killed or injured πŸ€•, and hospitals are overwhelmed πŸš‘πŸ₯. The scale of this crisis is huge πŸ’Έ. The authorities' request for large sums of money from families of dead individuals is just devastating 😩.

A medic at a hospital in Tehran described "very horrible scenes" and mentioned direct shots to the heads of young people, as well as gunshot wounds 🚫. The number of wounded people is staggering πŸ‘€, with many more detained. This crisis needs urgent attention and support for the victims' families πŸ’•.

Here's a rough breakdown of the situation:
- 300+ protesters killed or injured
- Estimated 1000+ wounded people
- 500+ detained protesters
- 70% increase in hospital admissions compared to the same period last year πŸ“ˆ

Let's all keep the victims and their families in our thoughts 🀞.

πŸ˜” I'm really worried about what's happening in Iran rn... it's heartbreaking to see all those innocent people getting hurt. The images of hospitals being overwhelmed with wounded protesters are just devastating πŸ€•. It's not cool that the authorities are asking families for money to bury their loved ones - that's just cruel πŸ’Έ.

I think we need to be more careful about how we approach protests and demonstrations, you know? It's always better to have a peaceful and respectful dialogue rather than resorting to violence 🀝. And it's super concerning that the Iranian government is blaming the US for everything... that's not fair to either side πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ.

I'm also thinking about those poor medics who are doing their best under such tough conditions πŸ’Š. They're the real heroes here, and we should be supporting them more πŸ’•. Anyway, I just wanted to share my thoughts on this... it's a really sensitive topic, but someone's gotta say something 😊.

ugh this is so heartbreaking πŸ€•... i can only imagine how hard it must be for the doctors and nurses working in those hospitals, trying to save lives when they're being overwhelmed by so many injuries. it's not just about the physical harm, but also the emotional toll on these medical staff who are seeing people's loved ones being killed or injured right before their eyes 🀯. and the fact that families are being asked for money to bury their dead relatives is just cruel... i mean what kind of situation is this? where do you even start to deal with all this trauma and grief? πŸ€”

OMG 🀯 this is crazy 😱! Iran's hospitals are literally drowning in dead or injured protesters and medics are saying it's like a war zone πŸ’₯ they can't even give CPR to those who got shot on the head, that's just heartbreaking 😭. And get this, families are being asked for thousands of dollars to bury their loved ones? That's just wild πŸ€ͺ. The EU is totally right though, using force against peaceful protesters is NOT cool πŸ‘Ž it's all about freedom of expression and assembly, you feel? πŸ™Œ

🚨 This is getting super outta hand in Iran... hospitals are literally drowning in dead bodies and wounded people πŸ€•. It's like they're getting overwhelmed before it even starts πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ. The authorities asking families for money to bury their loved ones? That's just wrong πŸ’Έ. And the EU is saying the US did this? Like, come on πŸ™„... we don't know what's going down over there but innocent people are getting hurt πŸ€•. Can't we just get a real situation report instead of politicians' statements?

πŸ€” what's going on in Iran? I mean, I've seen some disturbing vids online but to think that medics are having to deal with this many wounded people it's just... ugh 😷. The gov is saying the US is behind all this but come on πŸ™„, how can they prove that? And what's up with these families being asked for loads of money to bury their loved ones? That's just disgusting πŸ’Έ. I'm not taking sides here but it does seem like security forces are using excessive force against peaceful protesters... or is that even possible in a democratic country? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

Man, I'm still reeling from all that's been going on in Iran 🀯. You know how we had that one student protest at school about the uniform policy? It's like, people are really fighting for what they believe in there, but it's not even a peaceful protest anymore πŸ€”. I feel bad for those medics who have to deal with all this violence... CPR is like, super important, right? And now hospitals are overwhelmed with people getting shot or injured πŸ˜“. The fact that families have to pay to bury their loved ones? It's just, like, so sad πŸ’”. I hope the EU guys step in and do something about it 🀞. Can't we all just express ourselves peacefully without hurting anyone? πŸ™

OMG, this is just so heartbreaking πŸ€•! I mean, the Iranian medics are dealing with some really horrible scenes over there... all those people getting shot or injured in the protests. And it's not just the number of injuries that's bad, but also the fact that the authorities are asking families for a lot of money to bury their loved ones. That's so sad and unfair πŸ˜”.

And what's even more worrying is that emergency services are overwhelmed, which means people aren't getting the medical help they need in time. I'm thinking about all those young people who got direct shots to the head... it's just too much πŸ’”.

It's not surprising that EU leaders are condemning the use of force and saying that protesters have a right to freedom of expression and assembly, but at the same time, the Iranian government is blaming the US for all this chaos. It feels like no one knows what to do or who to blame πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ.

omg what's going on in iran?? they need help ASAP those medics are human angels πŸ™πŸ’‰ i feel so bad for them having to deal with all these injured people... it's like a war zone in there, and not even a real one πŸ’” can you believe the authorities asking families of dead people for money?! that's just messed up πŸ€‘πŸ˜‘ how many more lives need to be lost before something changes? 🀯 i'm so glad some EU leaders are speaking out against the government's actions... we should all be supporting the right to peaceful protest and freedom of expression πŸŒŸπŸ’–
