man I'm like totally feeling this anxiety thing
it's like the world is just moving too fast and we're all stuck in neutral. I mean, have you seen the news lately? it's like a never-ending stream of bad news and no clear direction on how to stop it. but at the same time, I think Dr. Himmelstein makes some really valid points - we need to focus on what we can control, like our own reactions to these crises, rather than getting caught up in all the uncertainty
and you know what's wild? I was just watching an old video of people during the Great Plague and they were all like "oh no, this is so bad" but then they'd go back to their daily lives and be like "okay, things will get better". it's like we're stuck in this perpetual state of crisis mode
. anyway, I think Dr. Gilbert's quote about us being resilient species is really true - we've been through tough times before and come out the other side.
anyway, I'm gonna try to focus on the present moment and not get too caught up in all the uncertainty
. has anyone else found any good coping mechanisms for this kind of thing?
